This is the second time going here with my dog. Both times they were excellent with not only me, my family, but my dog as well. The doctor explained everything in detail. Top notch care. Great service, excellent staff.

Was very skeptical on going here cause I've heard horror stories but had a great experience. Vet was great, front office very friendly. Hopefully I won't have to return but happy to know it's there if needed. Will recommend

We brought our cat Chloe to Maple Shade NorthStar this morning at the advice of our vet for an abscess. From the moment we walked in the doors, everyone was friendly and welcoming. A tech came right out to triage her in the waiting room. There was a bit of a wait to see the doctor, which is understandable. I’m just thankful they did not take Chloe from us until the doctor was ready to see her. We’ve been to other emergency vets where they take the pet right away and then we wait in the ER for over an hour with no idea what is happening. As expected, the abscess needed to be drained. Dr Tursi was very upfront with us about pricing and where we could cut costs if needed. She was sweet and caring and gave us thorough information for what to expect when we came come. After talking with the doctor, she told us the procedure to drain the abscess would be about an hour and we could wait or go out for coffee. We decided to walk around the mall for a bit. Came back at the one hour mark and Chloe was ready to come home! She is already improving and getting back to her normal self! We could not have been more impressed with NorthStar! To Dr Tutsi, Kristina, the wonderful techs and friendly receptionists (and Shady)…thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such good care of our sweet girl!

My 22 year old cat quickly took a turn for the worse today. I called North Star and quietly asked “how do you know it’s time?”
“You just know…”
She sent me a guideline/checklist and going off of that, it was well past time.
I got my cats favorite blanket and a tote (he HATED carriers) and my loving 16 year old son drove me and our cat to say goodbye.
We were explained everything in full detail from the moment I called and said we’re on our way. The front desk staff was amazing and compassionate. And the nurse as well. I can’t say thank you enough to the doctor who put my furry friend to sleep. She was above compassionate and after the first injection when I broke down and said I don’t think I can do this, she offered me to leave the room. I stayed because of her. Because i was there the day my kitten was born and I wasn’t leaving him then when he needed me. That doctor made me feel safe that i could cry and gasp and tell him he was always a good boy.
Well deserved five stars. Wish I could give more.

Our healthy 9 year old Irish Setter wasn't looking well. We took him to our local vet in Clayton NJ, and she said she needed X-rays for a breathing issue. She got them and told us he had aspirational pneumonia in the left lung, a small spot. She recommended taking him to a 24/7 emergency vet practice because she's seen dogs "go South" quickly if not aggressively treating it. She wanted antibiotics administered by IV. We chose North Star because of past experience. She talked to Dr. L there and sent the diagnosis and X-rays to them, told us to see Dr. L. We arrived at North Star in Robbinsville within 45 minutes. That's where this story gets upsetting. We asked to see Dr L but never got to see him. We were put in an exam room and nearly 3 hours went by without seeing ANY doctor. When I asked if one could see him, I was told "it could be 7 hours" for a doctor to see him. In the meantime our healthy dog was getting worse. They finally came in, and took him for the IV antibiotics.
We lost him 3 days later there.
Why wasn't he immediately put on IV antibiotics within 15 minutes of arrival? With pneumonia possibly "going South" quickly, where was the urgency to treat him aggressively right away? He could have responded instead of allowing it to get much worse.
I believe their protocols for respiratory dangers need a complete revamping. Why in the hell is there a protocol that allows an animal sit in an exam room for more than 30-45 minutes, and why is SEVEN HOURS acceptable? Why were we not allowed to see Dr. L who knew his diagnosis and could have acted fast?
I also wonder why we got updates from a different doctor every time who asked the same baseline questions every phone call? That wreaks of no coordination between doctors with his treatments.
The bottom line is we lost our heart dog, and forever I'll be anguished wondering if a quick response would have saved him and given him a better shot.
The doctors in the ICU were very nice but perhaps he needn't be there with prompt treatment.

We had such a nice experience here considering the circumstances. My dog can be very reactive and everyone front the vet techs to the dr were extremely accommodating and understanding. We were put in an empty exam room to keep him away from other dogs which i really appreciated. The vet can be extremely overwhelming with a reactive dog but we had no issues her at all. The wait time was not bad at all for an animal hospital on a saturday afternoon and the vet took her time to really listen to our concerns.

Dr. Curcillo is amazing. I brought my 10 year old Shih Tzu, Alexa in to see her after my primary vet found a potential mass in her adrenal gland and recommended I see a specialist. I went in confused, scared and VERY emotional. Dr. Curcillo took all of the time I needed to help me to understand, answered all of my questions, and was incredibly knowledgeable. On top of that, she was so compassionate, and so loving to my girl! I left with a hopeful heart and a much better understanding of our next steps. Along with Dr. Curcillo, her medical assistant Kaitlyn as well as the front desk staff were absolutely wonderful, delightful, and all about animals!! I am so grateful to have found them!

I recently had to accompany a family member to the hospital to have her precious fur baby put to sleep. It was a very hard time and the staff here was nothing short of AMAZING! They took us into our own room right away no waiting at all which meant no one staring at why we were crying. They talked and walked us through every step and at each step explain what was going to happen and made sure that we understood and gave us the time needed to process and say goodbye. They were just so untangling that this is a family member and we were not doing this because we wanted to. They had pure compassion and were just so thoughtful and understanding. I would highly recommend them for any vet needs!

I have had 2 different experiences with North Star. I had a cat throwing up blood and the vet was so thorough. I had to bring the cat back the next day and the vet was Dr Elizabeth Tursi. I unfortunately didn’t have a lot of money and she did everything she could and thankfully my cat recovered. Another experience was again with Dr Tursi just happened recently. My cat had a tooth that was coming out and another Vet was helping her name was Hahn and Hahn realized that was the problem with my cat. They both were able to help me find a place to get my cat’s tooth removed safely and low cost. I would always recommend North Star whenever anyone has a pet emergency. Also shoutout to the people at the front desk. Both times those ladies were patient and so supportive!!
