We’re carmax customers for life… it’s the only way to buy a car. We bought a car from carmax which had transmission issues after only a month. Carmax service coordinated with the dealer for all repairs since the car was still under warranty and gave us a free rental on multiple service visits. Carmax ended up buying back the car with transmission issues for the same price we paid and gave us a rental until we purchased a new car. Can’t say enough good things about our experience and the customer service.

Do not use Carmax at the Sicklerville location, maybe it was just me but the staff there not all but a select few are just not good people. I went to Maple Shade Carmax and had no problems wish i would have just started there and not waisted 2 days at rhe Sicklerville location

Carmax inspection is a complete joke - no mechanical check at all - low mileage 2021 car had real dirty filters, broken side mirror and prior front end damage - all identified by a private mechanic - not Carmax - should change name to “Carwash” - no difference from any other shady used car shop - be careful to get the vehicle checked by your own trusted mechanic during the return period (10 days only) and get ready to pay a few grand over true retail value

Truck looks great. There was an issue with the bed size, but CarMax fairly adjusted the price. Only issue was having to make numerous phone calls to finish the sale. The price change confused the system and took me over a week of calling every day to get the sales order started and completed.

Terrible experience at this facility..... went on a Monday, test drove a car I liked and made a deal based on the dealership fixing 2 chips in the windshield, repairing some scratches and cleaning it. Appointment was set for Friday to return with cashier's check and pick up the vehicle. When I returned at the appointed time nothing had been done to the vehicle and no one even knew I was coming or anything about the deal. Nothing had been done to make the agreed upon repairs nor had the car been cleaned. Transactions were completed anyway and I was promised that the someone from service would contact me and make the repairs that were supposed to have been completed prior to the purchase. I got a call from Derrick in "Service" and was told -unapologetically - that he "doesn't know" why repairs weren't made in the week that the car was there before the sale and that I would have to bring it back (1 hour drive one way) and they would determine if the scratches and windshield chip would be repaired depending on their level of acceptability..... ugh!! LOUSY customer service and absolutely no interest in the quality of their product.
I would not use them again!

I had a wonderful buying experience with CarMax! I completed most the of process online for the express pick up and Kirstie was phenomenal in helping me. Then when I got to the dealership in Maple Shade, it was truly a fast and express pick up and experience. I am so happy with how fast the process went and highly recommend them!

I purchased a car from this dealership back in December 2023. I purchased a 2017 Infiniti QX30. I did not purchase Max Care, because I figured it's a newer car, I should not have any issue with the car. Maybe this is irrational thinking, but this is what I was thinking at that moment. Prior I had a 2005 Nissan Maxima, and I had this car for 13 years and she ran beautifully until she could not run anymore. I purchased that car for $4500 did the regular maintenance and I got my money worth out this car. So, this was another factor into why I decline the MAX CARE.
When I bought the car the car ha 97,000 miles on it. You would think the salesman would have said OK. Listen this car has 97,000 miles in 3000 miles the manufacture warranty will expire anyway. Our Max Care warranty will cover you if anything happens especially since in 3000 miles the manufacture warranty will expire. If the salesman would have presented the information to me properly, I would have gone with the MAX CARE. Unfortunately, he did not. This is why I suggest they only there to make the sale, and once they make the sale it's like "Good RIDDANCE."
Now let's keep in mind most cars have a manufacture warranty also. Well at the time when I purchased this car the manufacture warranty was already expired. This warranty expired back in April of 2023. {NONE OF THIS WAS MENTION AT THE TIME OF THE PURCHASE.}
6MONTHS after having this vehicle I started experiencing a very bad leak on the car. I had the car taken to the Infiniti dealership and the car "Oil filter assembly is leaking which is a major leak, and the Thermostat filtering assembly is leaking also." The dealership stated that this was an issue before I purchased the car, because of how things look. These repairs will cost me approximately $5k to fix. Which is insane, because I only had the car 6 months.
I reached out to Car Max I had someone by the name of Austin, identify themself to me as a manager of the business department which they are NOT A MANAGER at all. I called and requested to speak with the evening manager named Alainah and she refused to speak with me over the phone. Because according to her and Austin "It was nothing she could do to help me, so she REFUSE to accept the call."
Then next morning I spoke with the service manager named "Derrick", who basically told me that there was nothing that they could do to help me. At that time, I was waiting for the car to be evaluated and see what was wrong. So, we were guessing and assuming what could be the issue. He did offer to look at the car for me. But I live in Philadelphia. So, I would have to get the car towed from Philadelphia to jersey. However, I would still be responsible for any repairs that the car needed.
Never in a million years would I think I would buy a car and 6 months after I would be paying $5k for repairs on a car, and the dealership where I purchased the car from is not willing to help AT ALL.
I would say this when buying a car from CAR MAX. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. These guys can give 2 red cents about you after they make that sale. So do your homework. I will never buy another car from CAR MAX. I will go to the dealership and deal with brand new cars or certified preowned cars.
I am filing a complaint with the BBB, because I believe they knew this car was a lemon, and now they are refused to help in anyway.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS.
EDIT: On Saturday 6-15-2024 I called and spoke with the GM named JOE. Very rude, shallow and condescending individual. Again, all they care about it making the sale. Once they make the sale, they could care less what issues you have. This is one of the reasons why some of their complaints are similar.
