I’ve used GameStop Lyndhurst as my primary location for the last 5 years never had a problem always 5 stars. Today I walked in to trade in my PS5 which was considered defective it had broken earlier in the day. The moment the employed who I never met started the conversation with “ hey I really hate to be that guy.” I knew he was that guy. lol he told me he can’t accept my broken PS5 for store credit because it was to dusty. So I drove 8 mins to the Clifton location and traded it into them with no problem and the employee there set me up with a new working ps5 slim so I can be Online in Warzone with my bros on time. The employee at the Clifton location also stated to me that he wasn’t worried about the dust on a Defective PlayStation 5 because it has to be shipped to the warehouse for repairs either way. Which only made so much sense to me. Thank you Clifton location. I must say however the employee at Lyndhurst was professional, But Clifton has won me over for my new primary location.June 30th 2024

Don’t normally post reviews but this is by far the worst GameStop I have ever been to. Avoid at all costs. You’re better off going to another one of the local stores. The woman in charge of this store is extremely rude and annoying. When purchasing pre-owned products, she will add warranties without even asking. When I told her, I didn't want them, she would not stop trying to guilt me into buying them. I did not budge and this clearly angered her. As a routine shopper at GameStop, I am aware of all the “extra” stuff they will try to sell you when purchasing any products but for anyone just stopping by and not familiar with their membership, warranty policies, etc. be aware that they will take aggressive tactics to try to get you to purchase these things. Even after saying no, they will push the matter. Once again, this is not the normal experience and I would take the few extra minutes to drive to any of the other GameStops in the area. Much nicer customer service.

BE VERY CAREFUL when buying anything at this location. They will try to sneak items you don’t ask for such as warranties, pro memberships and so on. I stopped by this location twice today, April 27, 2024. The first time, I saw the woman who said she’s in charge of the store absolutely kill someone’s excitement for their purchase by throwing in terms about warranties and how quickly the items go bad. Then pushed a pro membership he wasn’t asking for even after he said he didn’t want it because his points usually expire before he could ever use them and she kept telling him about what it does to the price and they went back and forth for so long she basically beat the guy into submission as he gave up and said “you know what just charge me for whatever you think, I just need this item”. She seems like a very company person. The ones that are told they have to push customers for all the extras. The second time I went to this location today, the guy who grabbed the game that I needed, proceeded to give me a total that included a warranty that I did not ask for. After what I saw earlier in the day I was ready for something like this. I called him on it and he caught an attitude. He just looked away while I paid. I know he felt embarrassed for what he did. Last time I’ll be shopping at this location.

This is the worst GameStop around. They close at random times with no warning. Today there is a sign that says, “we left at 3:00 and will be back at 5:00”. So you plan to drive there and pick something up and they are just randomly closed.
Other times it will just say, “be back soon”.
You can’t trust this store.

Do NOT go here. The employees think it is FUNNY to waste your time. I called ahead and asked if they BUY video games, they said YES on the phone. So I dragged my games to the store, and asked again. They said NO they don't buy games. I asked 2x on the phone before coming here. WASTE OF TIME. Don't waste your time or money at this location.

I called this establishment, and asked them on the phone, "Do you Buy games?" They said "yes". So I come all the way here... In person "do you buy games?" no. Waste of time.

I went into the GameStop in Lyndhurst to buy the New Xbox generation and Craig who was working couldn’t have helped me more. A great employee with an even better attitude. I will ensure that I come back to the GameStop in Lyndhurst to do business because of employees like that. He couldn’t have been more respectful and cooperative.

I’m not much of a negative review kinda person but I just felt like this was an experience I had to share. I placed an order online for the purpose of convenience. I sent my assistant to pick up the order for me. When he arrived they told him the order wasn’t ready to be picked up, but they had plenty in stock that I should’ve just bought it in person instead. After 2 hours I was alerted my order was ready for pickup. The store was then closed for the day leaving me to have to wait until the next day to pick up. Fine whatever, so next day I send my assistant again to pick up the order. 2pm. Store hours state11:00am- 8pm. When he arrived at the store, doors were locked and gates were down with a line outside waiting to get in. This is not at all how a business is meant to be run, especially one held in high regards like “GameStop” at 3:30pm they re-opened the doors. Will likely never do business here again, just no excuse for such poor service.

I have been frequenting video game stores since the days of FuncoLand, so I know a thing or two (and I'm also perhaps showing my age). This is one of the better GameStop locations, in my opinion. The store is well-stocked with a large selection for all of the contemporary platforms. In addition, it is organized well. What I believe makes the difference in this location is their choice of staff. Their staff are kind, courteous, helpful, polite, and involved. This cannot be said for all locations, and this is why I choose this one. The personal touch is truly appreciated. Prices are on par with what you'd expect. However, there is value in this place versus shopping online, in my opinion, given the wonderful staff.

One store in Lyndhurst. Manager very helpful but didn't have what I wanted. Told me to check store in Garden State Plaza in Paramus. Also didn't have what I wanted. Other choices were very expensive so I didn't make a purchase. Employee was also very helpful. Thanks to both.
