12-6-2023 My husband had open heart surgery, and we had an amazing experience! He was home in 5 days. The CT team was amazing. They were so nice and helpful. My daughter had a baby here, 1-31-2020. It was NOT a good experience at all. The staff was not as nice, and the resident was extremely rude! I guess it all depends on what you are having done and what units you have to deal with. 2008 & 2010, my husband had hip replacements done. The orthopedic team was amazing! I would say surgery is good, don't have a baby here.

I wish I could give this hospital more stars. The place was like staying at a 5 star hotel and every member of the staff treated me like royalty. Every morning teams from Neurosurgery and Otolaryngology came in to check on me. Nurses were attentive and kind, the dietician was wonderful as was PT, the kitchen manager came in to check on my comfort and satisfaction, even the billing department was incredibly supportive!....but the most important part of my entire "adventure" at this hospital was Dr. James K. Liu who removed a tumor from the base of my brain. I felt no pain at any point in my recovery, and although 3 major Hospitals in Boston gave me a bleak prognosis ( and said that I would be on a feeding tube for the rest of my life) Dr. Liu took my case and the results are wonderful. I can eat anything I like, I never lost my voice, and all credit goes to Dr James K. Liu and his incredible team. I will remain grateful to this hospital and the people there for the rest of my life.

This center is fantastic for routine mammograms. Every time I am in and out in 20 minutes. This last time I booked the 6:40am appointment and was home by 7:30 with a 20 minute drive. The results were in my inbox at 9:42am. The staff is very friendly and professional and the facility is spotless.

I stayed at Saint Barnabas back in 2001. I just recently stayed there for 10 days. It was the worst stay of my life I have never had such a bad experience with some of the staff. It was awful especially the night staff they just totally ignore your request to three hours to get back to me. Thank God it was my am emergency. Saint Barnabas, a.k.a. Cooper, man, Saint Barnabas, has fallen off I don’t know why but I pray I never ever go back there the only reason I was there is because my heart rate was too high and all my doctors are in Morristown but the doctors and some of the nurses and nurses assistants were good and I acknowledge them the others in my opinion are in the wrong profession or in it for the wrong reasons

I had very good experience with my 1st surgery (abdominal hysterectomy) with Dr. Eric Liberman and his surgical team. Everyone was very professional and kind. It started from the welcome desk and then every section I went to from the beginning until the end. "When you do things with your heart, everything is just amazing" Thanks to all!

At Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, I had the pleasure of meeting RN Julie, who exemplifies the qualities of patience and kindness. Her genuine concern for the well-being of patients is truly admirable.

Sadly I haven't even visited this hospital yet and I still have to give it a 1 star review. You see I was recently informed that the surgery I had scheduled 6 months ago was changed 2 weeks before I was to have it. It is hard enough having to schedule of work using my precious PTO but I also have to find someone to be able to take my child that morning. The one person I could find to take me to my surgery also had to request off months in advanced. And for the hospital to just say, hey we do not care about any of that. Is a slap in the face to me and my healthcare needs.

I checked my mom into the emergency room. My mom asked to be put on a gurney because she felt she couldn't stand or get into a wheel chair.I informed the young man of what was going on with my mom. He then goes to ask his coworker if the request was possible. She then takes it upon herself to laugh. No matter how ridiculous the request seemed, I don't think it was a laughing matter.Thankfully, the other staff were a huge help!

All Nurses, Doctors, Staff at Cardiac Catherization Lab were excellent during my procedures there recently. Everyone kept me informed of what was happening and stopped any fears I might have. Everyone was very concerned and made sure I was comfortable. So many people went out of their way it made me feel good. Margaret

Great customer service! Had a PET Scan at the CBMC Ambulatory Care Center Nuclear Medicine Office. The staff there were friendly and courteous from beginning to end and made the whole thing a comfortable experience. The techs - Elena and Carol - in particular, have excellent bedside manner which reduced the stress I was feeling about the process. Thank you!

As stated in my previous email, when i had completed the ultra sound I asked for a copy of the test and was told that I could pick it up at the film library, that there is no capability to cut a CD in ultrasound, unlike what happened in CT when I was handed a CD before i left. I left the ultrasound area and had an x-ray taken of my abdomen. Form there i went to the film library, thinking i would probably have to wait a bit, but would receive a CD. That was not to be the case, and I was told, very nicely, to call in the morning to be sure they had access to the studies and then i could come in and fill out a form and receive the CD. I did as was told. The person who answered the phone was disrespectful and argumentative. She wanted to know who I had spoken to and why i thought that I would be given the CD. I explained the situation and was put on hold. When the person came back on the line she said that the study had not been completed, since it had not yet been read. I then stated, calmly, that I really didn't need it read, that I needed the CD for my physician. Again the person asked me who i had spoken to, was it a man, and I said now, it was a woman. After being put on hold gain, i was told the CD would be ready in about 1/2 hour. When I came to the film library 40 minutes later a nice woman said she had been waiting for me since she spoke to the other person about the situation, and she handed me the CD. It appears to me as a bit of an outsider, but one with extensive "inside" experience, that the program needs to get its act together. This is no way to deal with the public. I shouldn't have to fight for what I need. here is the email I sent yesterday: I am writing about my concerns regarding my recent visit. To let you know, I was an employee of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center from August 1972 through 2002 and thus was an employee of St Barnabas system. I left in 2002 to become full time at UMDNJ, which is now part of the St B System. Thus although I may be called a dinosaur, i have had extensive experience in patient care. In medical education, we always taught our students to be and show respect for their patients. One way is not to call them by their first name unless told to do so by the patient. I never expected a patient to call me by my first name, so why would i expect that it is okay to call a patient by theirs? Although, I believe, all of my records show that I do have an MD degree and thus would be called Dr. M, I long ago accepted that some would mistakenly call me Mr. M. But, I do not expect to be called Steven everywhere that I went in your system. I was even called "Steve" by one of your people, a name I have not been called since I was a little kid, at least she didn't call me "Stevie!" I recently received a questionaire from some health care provider, how I would like to be called, but was not offered Dr. M. I realize that i am an old man, and that the world has changed, but, i do believe that it hasn't or should not have changed that much! The other thing that totally surprised me, shocked me. Was that I believe i was told that patients are required to wear a mask when they are receiving treatment. That seemed an odd comment, since it seems to me that although there may not be a requirement for universal masking, it makes sense to lower any risk of infection. From the time i entered your facility the only, few and far between, individuals I saw wearing a mask were patients. NOT A SINGLE STAFF PERSON WAS WEARING ONE! The data posted today shows a 20% increase in new COVID cases, hospital admissions and even deaths (see attached report i received today via the NY Times). Although the state no longer tracks cases, partially because there are so many at home tests that are never reported, those national figures show a significant rise in cases. I finally asked the last person that interfaced with me why she was not wearing a mask. I said, do you know that the rate of cases is rising dramatically, and since you interface with so many people over the co

The communication protocols are this facility are horrible. Administrative staff are not helpful and create obstacles and barriers to efficient communication. This is not speaking towards the doctors but when it is this difficult to work with a group, it is hard to want to work with them. I am parallel processing working with another medical center that is more efficient and more competent on the administrative side.

Have been going here for routine mammography and ultrasounds for 27 years. Technicians are always kind, compassionate, patient and helpful. Even today……..I was in a hurry to have my services completed so I could get to work on time, and of course I made it known by letting them know but Janet and Jillian didn’t miss a beat. They were still as courteous and thorough as needed during this very sensitive check up/screening. Thank you!
