Alot of things are outdated...they are not helpful in their if you have a question do you carry ? Only too find they did have it. The steak in the freezer is brown and some of their red meats are brown.

I can't understand why the items in this store are so very overly priced. I would think their food prices would be more affordable as they are located in a low income housing area. Also I purchased a pack of reduced priced chuck ground meat. Opened it to only find out the meat was bad. Returned it and got a refund and purchased another pack, only to find out that too was bad. Didn't bother with getting a refund. Returned a few days later and bought a pack of reduced priced flounder. Returned home to find out that it smelled so bad that even the fishy smell was gone. At this point I plan to stay away from their meat department. I only shop here because I at this time cannot drive to a better grocery store. Just awful!

It makes very little sense how badly this “Family run Market” takes advantage of the residents that have no choice but to shop here. Not only are they overpriced, but they do not check the quality of the products they sale. There were more than one time where I brought fruit, cut into it was rotten in the middle. The meats are a gamble because more than a few times a majority of the selection was discolored or already starting to brown. Dont let me mention the last time I brought a pack of chicken. It was slimy and had a foul Oder and they refused to refund me.

DO NOT GO HERE! Food is ALWAYS expired not even recently but months sometimes years old. Not to mention they are more expensive than even ACME and Shoprite. If you find yourself in this store make sure at the minimum to check all the dates before purchasing.

I often go there for little things I may need. You really need to check the veggies sometimes they don't always look fresh. Otherwise it's okay. Also the lady in the booth to buy lottery tickets is rude and not always customer friendly. If you need something quick it's okay.

I was in there last night around 7:30 I went to get hot dogs and bread. However when I got up to the self check out, I noticed that the hotdogs were kinda green. So I asked the cashier if I could leave it with him, pay then go back and just get another one so I don’t create a line by just going back and getting them. He told me he could have someone run back real quick which wasn’t a problem. When the other cashier came back with the new hotdogs I notice that these hotdogs were a lot more green than the first one. So he told me to just go to the second window of customer service since everything was already paid for, and they will remove them with no problem. Well I think her name is Tammy was very rude! She told me there was nothing wrong with the hotdogs it was just the lighting making it look that way. So I asked her well why wouldn’t it make the rest of them green if it was just the light. She took my receipt as she sitting in the chair and giving rude instructions. She does not need to be in customer service if she is not friendly and she definitely was not friendly.

I love that these family run grocery stores are still around. Great little gem for getting your things. Store was kept clean and the people were so nice!

This store I can remember when I was a child. It has been a community staple for years. Of course all the prices don't compare with other big retail supermarkets, but it's a local business. I shop there for convenience. The hoagies they make are really good, and they do carry a lot of products that fit the needs of the community.

The store is ok for a small supermarket. The deli prices are good. Some groceries are way overpriced. Others are ok and they have some decent sale items sometimes. You just have to make sure you get the sale price. They got me more then once.

Super shameful and very disappointing.I began shopping here when I first moved here in an effort to support small business. I was always willing to spend a little bit more but now the Deterdings are straight up price gouging. A box of Kellogg's cereal $8.15, a bag of no name frozen peas $6.39. What? I wentto management about this and they both were annoyed at my audacity to complain citi.g "increased costs" Covid been since 2020 people and whole I understand that it took some time to catch up BIY YPUR DAMN EGGS LOCAL. When's the last time you renegotiated your pricing and why ARENT you buying local??? You want the community to support you. It you aren't supporting.g your local community. If you bought your eggs local, you could sell them cheaper but you order from huge conglomerates who are bending you over and your doing NOTHING to provide better pricing.g for your customers, your just saying "oh well, gotta pass it on." Fix this, do your homework and find local distributors who will charge less.

I shopped here as a kid and return only when absolutely needed. Its small, family owned, serves its purpose. However, the prices are absolutely ridiculous! Extremely over marked especially for a store smack dab in the middle of the hood. You could go to any one of the other stores and pay less. Its honestly not fair how over priced they are. The store hasn't even been updated since the 90s if that.

I went to Deterdings 8/22 to pick up a few items. I only go there for a few things that I need right away.. The store is only 5mins away. You do have to check the dates on food you buy because most of the sale items are expired. Sometimes days or months. Also, the lady in the booth is rude at times when I went there. I am so glad that is not the only store around.
