I rented a violin and flute for my 9 year old grandson from the Soloist. The process was easy, the proprietor professional and my grandson was happy! Excellent experience and service. We will continue to frequent the shop as needed.

Doug is very kind and knowledgeable. Good prices, good service, what more can one ask for? Bonus: fast service. repairs can take a few days, but that is totally acceptable given the time and skill required to fix these precious wooden instruments.

Rental and repair prices almost haven't changed for a very long time, rare to see these days. Also very reasonable prices for services and very nice, professional owner. He knows what he's talking about and is very knowledgeable. If there is something he cannot help with, he offers alternatives, and instructs customers to go somewhere else that can help with the problem (but that rarely happens!) . Does a very good job with repairs, extremely thorough. Went to fix a minor problem, but he did a complete checkup and found some other problems that had to be fixed, and did all of that for a good price. Anyone can go here without worries,. reviews that claim otherwise is a very odd happening. He has been in business in Leonia for a very long time. He is trusted by the local community and reliable.

Had a cello emergency as my son needed his bow rehaired in a hurry. Doug the owner said bring it in. We got it back the same day as promised. The instrument was also cleaned and tuned with other minor repairs. The price was more than fair and would highly recommend this local business! Instrument rental is not an easy business, not necessary to try to ruin a man’s business especially a local.

The instrument was also cleaned and tuned with other minor repairs. The price was more than fair and would highly recommend this local business! Instrument rental is not an easy business, not necessary to try to ruin a man's business especially a local.

Worst Worst instrument renting store. Nasty owner. Gave us a very old and dirty flute with the inside all filled with mold. Gave us no refund either. Owner has no shame. They obviously don't clean the instruments properly like how they're supposed to. Do not go here ever. When asked to give us a refund we get no "Sorry". Please do not ever go to this place.
