“I love shopping at this small family owned business. My wife and I come here for produce a couple times per week. Their produce is noticeably better than all of the grocery stores in the area. My guess is they have a longstanding relationship with the local suppliers because they always seem to have the best produce. Additionally the owners are so nice. And as others have mentioned, the homemade kimchi is fantastic. I'm so glad I tried it, as it's a weekly purchase now.”

“Service is quick and straightforward. Servers always welcoming and friendly. I come all the way downtown to get this soft serve which is the BEST VEGAN SOFT SERVE by far I've tried around. They have the vanilla flavor often and a seasonal flavor. You can ask it swirl if you like. Can't never go run with this Ice cream. There's available sitting indoors and outdoors for anyone's preferences. The ambience indoor is mellow and nice background music always playing. Definitely give it a try!!!”

“I've come to the decision over the years that this store has the best sushi in ridgewood. Their sushi deluxe always has a variety of fish including toro and uni. And instead of giving you a standard roll - you get a high quality negi toro roll with it. The grocery always has fresh produce and a nice selection of frozen item I really love this place”

“I had searched for Greek Feta Cheese (Dedonia) and this was the ONLY place in all of Manhattan that had it. They have the freshest foods. The three guys who work there are excellent in service and knowledge. They have all been there for the over 20 years I have been going there. I am so grateful I found this place. THE BEST.”

There are many choices, mediterranean and turkish groceries.I like Turkish coffee, so I got it and spinach and cheese pie. Those are really good. There are so many choices. “Visited for the first time, a beautiful place. Some items were higher priced than other organic markets. They didn't have all the items I needed. They are working on restocking. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. They did have some coupons for the items that I bought. For me it's not as convenient as other stores to shop. When I'm in the area, I will stop in to pick up some specialty items.”

“My family and I have been shopping at Adam's for countless years. The store is a small hidden gem of a corner deli stocked with wonderfully, authentic, Polish delicacies. The food is incredibly consistent, and you would be hard-pressed to find better pierogi or kielbasa. The kielbasa is perfectly smoked and the pierogi have an excellent texture to them. My friends with Polish backgrounds also shop here regularly, insistent that there is nothing more authentic than this store in the area. The service is fast and efficient and the store is well-kept and clean. They also speak English, so communicating is never difficult. Recommended!”

“Friendly atmosphere! They had a everything and more reminiscent of my trips to Albania. Fresh meats, they also a variety of Burek, sallam sheep cheese olives. Can't wait to go back and get the sweets such as Kadaif!”

“They are the GOAT of Hoboken Hoagies. Their fresh made daily roast beef and mozzarella sandwich is unbeatable. I've been looking forward to a sandwich every time someone says Hoboken for over 30 years. My dad used to bring them home as a treat when we were kids. They are just as good as they ever were. My picky kids love it, too! ?I would have taken a photo, but the giant delicious sandwich didn't last long enough. ”

“We were taking a bus home just around the corner from this location today, so it was a great opportunity to buy as much as we could carry. When we entered the store and got a cart, we asked a nearby employee for the location of a certain item and she immediately asked if we wanted her to bring us there (we thanked her and said it wasn't necessary, but certainly that was very gracious of her). Also; the cashier was *incredibly* friendly, she had a wonderful sense of humor and she was wearing a terrific Christmas costume.”

“I've walked past this place a million times, but never went inside, until last night. I was across the street at Immersive Gaming-- and the staff told me I could get pizza there, and even a birthday cake for my daughter. Unfortunately, the bakery was closed, but the pizza shop was open. While I waited for the pies to be made, I did some browsing and noticed all the wonderful shops inside. Bar, Bakery, Pizza shop, mini- market, produce, butcher shop, etc. I was thoroughly impressed by how I never managed to make my way inside despite being around the area frequently.”

“If you are British or an Anglophile missing a pork pie, a meat pie, a bag of walkers cheese and onion, a cadburys egg.... Crackers for Xmas or so much more, here it is. The pork pies are killer!”

“This place totally hit the spot! We had breakfast here and the food was great and very reasonably priced. I had a spinach and feta omelette that came with home fries and toast all for $8.95, plus a hot chocolate and side of bacon for only $2 each. My son's egg and cheese bagel sandwich was only $4!! Compared to other places nearby that charge $22 for an omelette or $18 for a breakfast sandwich, the Hell's Kitchenette was a godsend! They have plenty of seating and the service was fast and friendly. I will come back next time I'm in the neighborhood. 10/10!!”

“Diminutive space with down-at-heel appearance —but the urban decay is part of the charm. The samosa and aloo tikki were good. Both are potato heavy but herb seasoning is present and noted and flavorful. They’re large, hot and filling. Great option for cheap filling hot snack if you have cash. $3/ each. Cash only. The English spoken here is barebones strictly transactional English.Vegetarian options: Pretty sure everything here is vegetarian.”

“I know a lot of people are huge Trader Joe's fans. I'm only newly jumping on the bandwagon. I come to this shopping plaza in Edgewater often and it conveniently has lots of parking. My husband has always loved TJs, especially their frozen meals selection (it is pretty impressive, I must say). I always found TJ enthusiasts to be a little elitist (sometimes cultish, even) but I can see the appeal. They have a really wide variety of products for people with special tastes and different diets. I found the flavor offerings to be very unique and interesting. Even the frozen meals are restaurant grade quality, which I can't say about others grocery stores with their own line. My experience at this store in particular was pretty good. It was a little crowded when I arrived on Saturday evening but the store was pretty intuitive to navigate. The aisles are wide and the store associates are constantly tidying up so nothing is out of place. The people who work at the store are friendly and helpful too. I've only been here a few times and I don't come here to do my main groceries, usually just fill in items, so I can't speak to the prices too much. I think the frozen meal prices are very reasonable. Some of their snack foods and meats looked a little more expensive though. I can see why people like it though- the quality is very good. A few things to know before you go: - with limited exceptions, they only carry the TJ brand -there's no self checkout -they don't use grocery bags (paper or plastic) b it you can purchase a reusable bag at checkout”

“I must have walked by this store so many times and only went in to buy lottery tickets today. I held the door open for someone and he told me that this place was a gem of a store and it was his favorite store. When I walked in this store it was fully packed with mostly Turkish groceries. I mean they really used their space. I decided to really take some time out to look around. Every bit of space it untiltilized here with a lot of amazing turkish products. I ended up getting some turkish bread and snacks which I really liked and my lotto tickets. This is definitely a great new find.”

“Matko boska! The selection and prices here are very good. I will return to this establishment and Polish district overall. I would however check the expiration date on things to make sure they aren't already expired before you buy. I bought about 50 items and I only found 1 or 2 that were expired but a few that would be expiring within the next 60 days. The other problem here is the lady that works there is from the communist Poland era so don't expect any good customer service skills. She seems annoyed at having to work here and isn't willing to help much, probably didn't get any Biden bucks.”

“Garden Gourmet really is an oasis in this neck of the Kingsbridge-Riverdale woods. The quality is uniformly high, with a few exceptions, and the prices are decent. More expensive than, say, Stop & Shop across the street, but overall a vastly superior store. Produce selection is abundant, with plenty of organic options. You can tell the store has a buyer who cares about quality. Again, with exceptions. They occasionally sell Sunset brand products, like tomatoes, which are not good. They should do better quality control on tomatoes. Also, there are many bagged veggies, like spinach and salads, which can contain spoilage and are best avoided. I wish they would eliminate these, but I guess people like them because the veggies are pre-washed. But there are plenty of fresh alternatives to these. The meat and chicken section also is good quality, but can be pricey, except they have an excellent deal on Bell & Evans chickens, which are top-notch. (They also offer cheap mass-produced Perdue chickens which are tasteless, but can be avoided.) The butchered meat selection is not huge, more select, but good quality and reasonably priced. However, if you're going for processed packaged meats, like sausages and other deli cuts, they have tons of high-quality imports, along with quality sliced ham, turkey, and other cold cuts that they package themselves. Their fresh fish selection is small, but good quality and not cheap. Smoked fish, though? Huge selection. Then there's the cheese -- a superb curated spread that's massive considering the size of the store, with many great prices. One picayune exception: their house-made fresh mozzarella is bland. Luckily they have other brands. Garden Gourmet obviously prides itself on their house-made products, including bean salads, olives, slaw, potato salads, etc. -- and these are uniformly good. They also offer a TON of prepared cooked food for take-home meals, but I never buy that stuff because I cook for myself. It sure looks and smells good though. The GG has a HUGE selection of locally sourced bread off all types that blows away any supermarket. Also a nice pick of cakes and pies and other baked goods that are either house made or locally sourced. One other criticism of GG: Their coffee beans are inferior. I wish they'd get a new supplier for these. Othewise there is SO MUCH more I could say about this store -- like discuss their IMMENSE selection of products imported from mainly Eastern European countries -- but I've blabbed on enough. If the Garden Gourmet ever closed down I'd be shattered.”

“My family has been shopping here for as long as I can remember - they're the best place to get Israeli products in NYC and, over a decade after leaving the city, I've yet to find anywhere that comes close. The products are great quality. Prices have increased, but that's true everywhere. The store is small and often crowded, so expect a little bit of chaos, but everyone has always been helpful and kind. The nuts, dried fruit, olives by weight, halva are all excellent and have been for at least the last three decades :) Go and enjoy!”
