0 ouf 4 would be my preferred rating. In December of 2021 the "interim" driver dropped my dementia-suffering family member at the wrong address on the way home. Active Day Laurel Springs NJ (ADLS) had been informed of the new address change in May 2020. Fortunately a neighbor near the old address brought the family member back to my home unharmed.Active Day offered no apology, never accepted any accountability, failed to explain what consequences the driver faced or what corrective procedures would be implemented going forward. The NJ Dept of Health (NJDOH) was contacted and an investigation of the facility ensued. After 2+ months the NJDOH determined that there was a "deficiency" at the facility, but would not go into the particulars due to privacy concerns....? The NJDOH referred me to Active Day to get more information. Of course, ADLS shared nothing pertinent. After the family member had attended ADLS for several years, the family decision was made to end her parcticipation at the facility. The family no longer trusted ADLS due to it's lack of transparency and ineptness. My advice to you with regards to sending your loved one to ADLS is to think twice; think looooong and hard.

Very, very poorly managed operation. NO customer service or ability to adjust their whims or fancies. Transportation to and from very erratic and always with different excuses. Unable to adjust schedule at my place of employment as bus comes at different times and on occasions not at all. When you try to complain and ask for a reasonable window for pickup and drop-off, you are treated as something is wrong with you and staff sees nothing wrong. If you try to push your point they threaten to hang up. Basically, our way or the highway operation. They are very unconcerned about their clients. $100/day for third-rate service.

Do Not Allow Your Elders To Go Here. My mother was a member there. She got food poisoning twice from there & often complained about the nurses coughing on the food on their gloves and then preparing food. She was hungry a couple times and needed a snack and no one would give her one. She needed to go to the bathroom and called the nurses many times and she ended up peeing her pants while she was there-- that was the final straw. I stopped in to take a look myself- it's germ-infested. Not everyone was being careful. They were using the same gloves to cook and then cough. It was sick. Then, a woman who I can't remember her name (very nasty by the way) basically yelled at my mom for pissing herself. She was taking their public transportation services, and she stated they are extremely safe drivers who travel the speed limit but that she was neglected on the bus several times with the doors shut and no bus driver on the bus when she needed medical attention. They basically had her trapped in a hot car with no air flowing through on a really hot day when it was at least 90* outside. She said she witnessed negligence there daily that people would be shouting that they need to use the bathroom, or that they needed food or medical attention but sometimes they were basically just told to keep quiet. Also the one day she needed medical help they just dismissed it. I didn't find this out until the peeing incident or THAT would have been the final straw. The only way I could see sending your loved one here is if they're self-sufficient & able to ask for help and walk on their own. Otherwise, beware. I wanted to file a lawsuit against them. This place needs to have the board of health in there to see that they're ALLOWING THEIR WORKERS TO COME INTO WORK WITH SEVERE COLDS. They are SEVERELY UNDERSTAFFED BECAUSE THEY ARE CHEAP, it is very obvious. THAT is why people are working there when they have a cold. In fact one day I was there picking my mother up and one of the workers was getting disciplined for calling out sick. YOU'RE WORKING AROUND SENIORS-- CALL OUT SICK IF YOU'RE SICK. Whoever said that should be fired--- I'd never let an employee come in sick. That should be illegal. Sickening...
