Completely unprofessional school, teacher late to every single class, would not recommend.

We love the New School For Music Study. My daughter has been taking piano lessons here for the past 5 months and she has learned so much! Her teacher is so great with kids and makes learning how to play the piano fun and educational. I highly recommend the New School For Music Study

This is a professtional piano schoo. They offer both private and group lessons. The founder created a pedagogy that really helped my child gained confidence in and joyment in leaning piano. Groups lessosn provide a fun way of learning music theory. Highly recommanded!

I’ve been taking piano lessons for the past 7 years. For the past year I’ve taken piano lessons with Kairy Koshoeva at NSMS. I can easily say Kairy has been the best teacher I’ve had the pleasure of taking lessons from. Besides being an extremely accomplished pianist, she has great competence in teaching piano to adults, of varying skill level. She’s patient and creative with the ways she teaches any given skill or theoretical concept. In order to get to reach a certain level of fluency and performance she presents me with different tools and methods to be able to practice and master a piece.I’ve been truly fortunate in crossing paths with Kairy. I’ve learned more in the past year than in the previous three or four years. It’s amazing how well Kairy can communicate ideas to her adult students. If you’re an adult piano player regardless of level, I would suggest Kairy as a teacher without any reservation. She’s the best.

I came across The New School For Music Study during the pandemic when all or most music schools were shutting down classes temporarily due the pandemic. My daughter's Piano classes was one of them. After a detailed search, I had almost given up hope of securing lessons for her for that year, when I heard about The New School for Music Study from family in New Jersey and thankfully enough, they were prepared to move to virtual classes and were ready to accommodate an out of State student.I must say that they are thoroughly professional. My daughter has an excellent teacher who is sincere, talented, endearing and very encouraging. The classes are thorough and there are benchmark tests to find out how a student is progressing. There have been numerous virtual concerts to showcase the students' talent. The school is extremely communicative and typically replies within the same day. I would say I am completely happy with my experience.

My daughter has been with New Music School from Kindergarten through 3 years and continuing. We have experienced 3 teachers (group and private) and every teacher was very caring and loving and really helped my child get comfortable and enjoy music by creating a love for the art.NMS is also different from other music classes because they provide 2 classes weekly - one hour of group and 30 mins private class. This really is one the best combinations to create the right foundations of music - at early ages focus on tapping and clapping, later on including theory and focusing on ear training. Also, it is worth to mention how the school moved to ensure the same quality is provided during the pandemic when everything went remote. The school also provides special music events during holidays for kids to perform across school and this really reminds the children to enjoy music at every opportunity. I strongly recommend the school for anyone who is shopping to find music lessons for kids.

Since my child started at the New School a little over 6 months ago, I have seen significant growth in her musicianship. The teachers are dedicated, experienced and inspiring professionals, following a rigorous curriculum. My child has a great time with many of the "extracurricular" music activities offered by the school as well. It is a fantastic school for serious players.

Three years ago we moved into the area and sent our two kids, aged 10 and 12 then, to NSMS. They have had a wonderful time and truly benefited from this school since. From the regular faculty and student recitals, I can tell the place is packed of talent. Furthermore, the amazing part of it is that they find ways to work with individual students and bring out the music in them, give them confidence, and help them find joy in sharing music in group classes, in recitals and at home.Instead of video games, now they would do a short number of tunes most mornings, sometimes before breakfast, to start the day. What a joy to wake up to this.

Both my kids have studied at NSMS and both have become excellent musicians. I attribute a lot of it to the foundation they have learned in piano and much of the credit goes to faulty at this school. The staff is caring and professional and truly want to help students go as far as they want to. I recommend any one who is interested in piano studies to visit and listen for themselves.

Once recommended to my grandson as a school of choice, we have been very proud to be part of it ever since. The teachers are dedicated and experienced pedagogues as well as very accomplished musicians and performers. They will not only focus on teaching how to read notes and play piano but also on developing and nurturing musicality, ear training, sense of rhythm and performance skills. Children perform frequently in different venues. School also provides support in taking Royal Conservatory Exams for those who are motivated by excellence.I myself joined an adult program and extremely proud to have such a unique opportunity to study with outstanding pedagogues and perform in adult repertoire classes for each other. If you are searching for a place to provide your child with a comprehensive music education or looking to bring your own skills to a new level, you shall not look further than New School for Music Study.

The NSMS has been a part of our kids' musical journey since kindergarten. For the past 8 years, I found the unique teaching philosophy of the New School to be innovative and nurturing of how children's brains interpret music and music learning as they've developed. Families are a large part of the community at the New School, from parents' classes, to attending faculty recitals, to the kids own recitals at the end of the year. I've enjoyed watching my kids tinker with the black keys when they were just learning keyboard basics to now composing pieces that span the major and minor scales, to experimenting between classical, jazz and popular genres. The teachers are caring, innovative, and work together to build exchanges of experiential teaching techniques that we benefit from. One of the best educational decisions we have made for our kids.

Our son has been a student at the New School for 7 years. The lessons have been very enjoyable for him and we feel they have enriched his life immensely. Besides individual lessons the New School offers group master-classes and frequent opportunities for solo performances. The faculty also perform in frequent concerts. Their level of musicality and technique is very high. We are very satisfied with the New School

I have been at The New School since 2014 and have very much enjoyed continuing to grow as a musician there! I started studying piano in kindergarten and continued through college, so when I came to New Jersey for graduate school, I was very happy to find The New School to continue taking lessons with great faculty! As an adult student, I receive private instruction once a week for an hour in addition to regular performance classes with fellow adult students where we play for one another and receive coaching from rotating faculty. I am happy to call The New School my music home :)
