“Such a joyful experience, in stark contrast to the usual experience of trying on pants, especially vintage denim. Ended up with my holy grail denim and comfortable stan rays, which had evaded me until now.”

“I stumbled upon the Upper East Side Thrift Shop recently and was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of items at fantastic prices. It felt like discovering a hidden gem with each aisle I explored. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you're in the area, be sure to check out both locations on 1st Ave and 87th Street, as well as 2nd Ave and 89th Street. Support this local business, you never know what treasures you might find!”

“This is one of those places you wish you knew about earlier. I'm used to going to places where I have to kind of dig for what I like, but this place...seems to have something I like everywhere i look.
Tip, don't forget to look up and down, don't just stay at eye level. I found a hat I liked which was pretty high up and i'm glad I saw it.

You can tell the people who curate it know what they're doing and that they care - there are amazing brands, quality materials (at the moment - they just put out their fall collection- that includes a lot of cashmere!) You can get inspired by the products they have (I've learned about brands and types of jewelry) and even get ideas from the way they style their mannequins.

I didn't notice it consciously at first, but even the music they play in the store seems to have been chosen with care. I find myself dancing when I go in. That's the vibe i get in here - deliberate and careful curation done with heart.

The people who work here, at least every single person I interacted with, was very kind, friendly and down to earth. Just the right amount of friendly chatter, and no one ever made me feel pressured to buy anything - just made me feel at home and welcomed.

The pricing is extremely fair in my opinion, for the level of quality you're getting. I am trying to learn to manage my wardrobe, decluttering and whittling things down to favorites that I will wear for years, and I think some pieces I recently got here will be favorites for years to come. They're unique items, made of great materials with interesting design.

There is a downstairs where they have books, furniture and housewares like candelabras, espresso sets, that kind of thing. They do take donations.

This is one of my new favorite finds and it's for a worthy cause. I got on their mailing list to learn about events and sales they have. I sound like a salesperson but have no affiliation with them....I just appreciate this place and the people in it. The only 'negative' for me, is I wish it was closer to where I live but I will consider it a place to go when I need to get away. I've been twice and each time found/bought things I loved and have been on my wish list for a while. I'm glad I finally learned of this place; better late than never.”

“Very cute with interesting vintage items. A truly vast collection, valuable objects, especially clothing, watches, shoes and much more. In my opinion it is a small museum. It is one of the most beautiful places I have visited in the United States.”

“I‘ve been here today in the afternoon, had the best experience in here! amazing store, very nice and friendly shop owner as well as his friend that accompanied him. very great selection of jackets, jeans, y2k sweaters, just about everything you need for a vintage store. loved it and fully recommend it!”

“Small, but very nice and organized store. Nice selection of American sports apparel, mostly jerseys, jackets and tees. The owner is talkative and friendly without being pushy. Prices are on the steep side, but not more than what you’d pay for online. Lucky for me the store did a 50% sale on everything that day, so I ended up buying three cool pieces. Knicks + USA basketball. Will return!”

“I am an Italian tourist who has been to America, I found this vintage shop in Brooklyn and I must say that it is a nice shop, very fragrant, it's a shame that when I took the record, the others fell off, I'm so sorry ?? the girl I found she was very kind even if the last sentence, even though I speak English, I didn't understand well.”

“Really love this place. The prices are great and it's in a good location. I always find something I like. Today I got these great biker boots. It's affordable, ranging from $5 to about $50. My boots where $26 size 7. I also got a beautiful pink jacket/ coat like 2 weeks ago. If you spend some time and look around you will find gems.”

“Tiny store absolutely brimming with clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry. You will find some very good bargains but you will also see items priced high. Couldn’t really figure out the pricing structure and I could have asked but sales staff was very busy.
Only a limited number of folks allowed in at one time. Be prepared to jockey for position to go through the racks.”

“Love this place, so happy I found it and that it’s in my neighborhood! It’s quickly become part of my weekend ritual (donating, picking up some great finds and my fave challenge of bringing in plastic bottles!) and I can’t stop telling friends about it. Thanks to all the staff for keeping it running ?”

“BEAUTIFUL TO BUY FROM and EXCELLENT TO SELL TO!The owners are always working in the store which is the real evidence to a great indie owned company. They love what they do! Very selective on what they take in making what they sell high quality. Pricing is below retail and they have $2-$6 bins with hidden gems. Found a lot of brand new high end - name brand- clothes for a friends baby shower. Excellent place to sell clothes, take credit and upgrade your childs wardrobe.”

4.8 Superb33 Reviews

“Found some amazing vintage clothes at a reasonable price. The place can feel a little overwhelming and get extremely packed. But it can be an explorative experience with friends to find goodies. They do charge a credit card fee, so bring cash if you don't want to pay that. They also sell bags to carry your purchase for $2, so bring your own in case you bought a haul of goodies.”

“Love this place. Lots of super-cheap clothes. My advice on how to shop is to make three or four rounds just to make sure you didn't miss anything. Friendly staff, good vibes here. Also, I thought it worth adding that I've been to plenty of bigger, chain resale shops in NY and NJ like Unique, 2nd Ave Thrift, and this place is better. It's clean, rotates stock, and is far more pleasant.”

“I love coming to the Salvation Army because their prices are very affordable, specially in the Zara section because they usually have 60% discount in everything from the original price… the store closes at 5:00pm but the only problem is that the ladies who work in the store start closing and screaming that the store will be close in 10 minutes (4:15pm) which is very annoying. I understand that they need to be close at 5 but they shouldn’t be saying that out loud when is not the time yet.The workers there are super nice and sweet, I just wish they wouldn’t start closing the store 1 hour prior to the actual closing time.Store is a little messy but you always done treasures there!”

“They have a bunch of really unique pieces at affordable prices, a rarity for Williamsburg! The person who was working was friendly too. I found my dream coat and left feeling very happy!”

“Me and my fiancé visited today and saw a typewriter for only $50! As a writer my eyes lit up once I saw it! The employees were so sweet and even tested it for us! We are 20 year olds from a very sad part of queens so we only came to window shop but no one judged or followed us! I’m so happy with my visit :)!”

“Great place. My sister's and I were looking for interview clothes and found some beautiful sleek black pants from guess and a button down white top. There clothes are affordable (some thrift shops are pricey). The lowest priced item I saw was $5 t shirts and highest was $50 pink coat I bought from DKNY.”

“I liked it, it is a good second-hand clothing store at a very good price. It is spacious, good lighting, large dressing rooms.I found clothes for me and my husband, there are also clothes for children and some other toys for children..What I liked the most was a Zara jacket at a very good price.”

“The cutest store with the most precious items! Everyone inside is so friendly as well! They were so helpful in wrapping up everything I found! I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!”

“PROS: The staff is nice, prices are good, and the variety is plentiful. They have everything under the sun here. they have a good size parking lot and the hours are good CONS: They only accept cash, everything looks messy inside, and nothing is priced. you have to ask them what each item is worth OVERALL: Not really my go-to place after coming here. But if you're in the area, might as well stop in”

“A wonderful thrift shop and community gem. They sell clothes, shoes, furniture, jewelry, houseware (plates, cups, silverware, appliances), bags, games, books, and so much more. I’ve purchased a matching dish set here, a retro 90’s windbreaker, several other jackets, a purse, a platter, books, and more. I’ve donated items after cleaning out my home, too. The prices are extremely affordable and fair.I love that it is a community space. I noticed some of the associates speak other languages like Arabic and Spanish, which is super helpful.”
