Dr. Rick is the best. The days of taking a generic prescription to your PT are over. Dr. Rick cuts out the fluff and focuses on fixing the issue to getting you healthy as fast as possible. The sessions are 1-on-1, so you don't have to worry about him giving you a bunch of exercises to do while he checks on 10 other patients. You get his full attention for the entire time. We were recently able to cut down a multi-month PT prescription to just a handful of visits by being laser focused on fixing the issue at hand while taking advantage on various modern tech he has available, such as leg sensors and balance machines, all while still being able to put in my weekly mileage. In the past, we were able to gauge my currently fitness level and heart rate zones through a VO2max test done right in the office. The best place to go whether you're injured or just want to get stronger/better at what you do.

I met Dr. Rick a few years ago through my gym and have gone to him for several different PT needs. Most recently I was having an acute sports related issue and was very glad to have his sound judgement and expertise to guide me through the rehab process. He’s been incredibly responsive as well knowledgeable as to my specific needs. I’d gladly recommend him!

By far the Best PT experience I have had!I recently got a TENEX procedure done on my left shoulder. Rick has been a fantastic guide and help in my recovery to sports. He is patient, punctual, fun to talk to. You can tell he knows what he is doing. I have leaned a lot from him and I’m really close to full recovery.I also got a body fat scan at his facility, which is such a great offering and so hard to find in the Hoboken, JC area. I have full confidence he will get me back into CrossFit in no time.

Rick is great! Here's what I love about going there:- He doesn't pressure you into having a lot of sessions - only what you need!- I feel better physically and spiritually after going- He provides excellent recommendations of reasonably-priced things you can buy AND stuff you can do on your own in between appointments. BRAVO!

I am a talent manager and as such, my daily routine consists of sitting and more sitting. Since I am in good physical shape, I had no idea that this sedentary lifestyle was contributing to a breakdown in my muscles until one day I could barely walk! My hospital P.A. said it was most likely arthritis. The pain was unbearable so I got a referral to a physical therapist who also misdiagnosed my problem as arthritis. But I didn't care what they called it as long as they cured it. I knew something was terribly wrong when the relief from his treatments only lasted a couple of hours. And he said the problem would only get worse and I would just have to learn to live with it.Then I remembered that a former talent of mine was a highly sought after physical therapist. I called Dr. Rick. He correctly diagnosed the issue as muscle atrophy which was causing my right hip to move out of alignment. The burning pain in my leg was due to the muscles struggling to pull the joint back into position when I walked (or sat, or lay down or anything!). On my first visit, he was able to tell me what the problem was and that he could fix it which was a far cry from what the first therapist said. After four visits, I am walking with only occasional twinges which he says will disappear as well as we continue the muscle strengthening exercises. After the amazing progress and unexpected improvement I have made in such a short time...I totally believe him. If you are looking for a therapist who is not only knowledgeable, but capable of dealing with serious mobility issues, you need Dr. Rick. Diagnosis, treatment and maintenance...all in one place. If you are looking to take your fitness goals to the next level, visit Dr. Rick at the Body Lab. Not only will he review everything with you in a comprehensive manner but the technology he uses will help take you two steps ahead everyone else in your fitness and nutrition.By utilizing Dr. Rick's knowledge and performance tips as well as the 3D Body Scanner in addition to my fitness and nutrition regimen, I was able to closely monitor my results and where I could improve (13.8% body fat down to 7.7% body fat with only 1lb lean muscle mass loss in 1.5 months).. I highly recommend Dr. Rick and the Body Scan technology and look forward to my monthly scans.

I was very happy with my experience at The Body Lab! All other physical therapy I've been to hasn't felt like it was really helping, but the hands on approach and attention here really makes a difference! I was also really impressed with the texts and e-mails I'd receive to check how I was feeling during appointments. I absolutely plan to come back for any other PT needs! Thank you!

Rick is hands down the best PT I've been to and I've been to many. He's knowledgable, attentive and an all-around great person. After four years of dealing with my situation, I"m finally on the road to healing and am back to many of the activities I haven't been able to do for years. The Boby Lab is your place to go if you are serious about your fitness and health. You have to take a fit3D Scan. It's helped me track my progress/ fitness goals. What gets mesured gets done. :) With this scan, I can see the amount of fat and muscle break down, which is super important. While I lost 20 lbs, we noticed I was loosing some muscle on my diet plan. With Rick Rutkowski's experience and wealth of knowledge, we were able to make adjustments in my diet and workouts going forward. I will be doing a body scan every month, to ensure I'm loosing fat and gaining muscle. Special thanks to Rick for his genuiness and investment in my fitness goal. Great having him part of my team.

Rick is amazing - After ignoring an injury for over a year, he worked with me to alleviate pain and rectify the injury. Rick is incredibly thorough and professional, leaving each session with exercises to do at home so I could keep up with progress until the next session. Highly recommend !

I couldn’t recommend Dr. Rick Rutkowski and The Body Lab more! I had been training for my first half marathon for 5 months when - 6 weeks before the race I suffered 2 different injuries in both legs. Dr. Rick took incredible care of me. He scheduled PT appointments around my difficult inflexible schedule, diagnosed me, and gave me a program to ensure I make it to the starting line. He would check up on me via texts and alter my program here and there to give me the best shot at healing without losing much fitness or strength. Thanks to Dr Rick, I made it to the race and am injury free! If you are in the Jersey City area and need a Physical Therapist, this is where you need to go!

Dr. Rutkowski is the absolute best!! While training for the NYC Marathon, I injured my leg, unable to run more than just a few miles without excruciating pain. Two weeks before the marathon, as panic was setting in, I made an appointment with The Body Lab since it was just a few blocks from my home and was able to be seen the next day! With Dr. Rutkowski's expertise, he was able to quickly target my problem muscles and tendons, helped heal the injury, and taught me strengthening exercises to avoid injury in the future. With his help, I was able to run all 26.2 miles PAIN FREE. Thank you so much for everything! I would absolutely recommend over and over again!!

If I could give this place more stars I would. From my first meeting with Dr. Rick to my most recent treatment, I have been nothing but impressed. I have been through physical therapy before and I've worked in a PT office; I can honestly say that I have never seen another therapist more attentive to their patients than Dr. Rick. Each session you're greeted with a warm smile and genuine interest in how you're doing, but from there it's down to business. Dr. Rick works with you to not just solve whatever is ailing, but to find the root of the problem. Too often doctors and therapists rush to treat the symptom rather than find the actual cause--not Dr. Rick! Because he spends the entire session with you, he is able to track down the root causes and works through both manual therapy and rehab exercises with you. (Ex: I had an issue overhead pressing, but the problem was actually an issue with my triceps.) In addition to his attentive nature, Dr. Rick is very knowledgeable and has an impressive stable of technology that he utilizes to help him solve the problem. The first time in the office you'll notice that there are gadgets and machines all over the place for testing everything from your 3D body image to running analysis.So, whether you're looking for someone to help you recover from an injury or help you check in on your current fitness levels Dr. Rick at The Body Lab is the person to see. I suggest a visit to anyone seriously interested in maintaining peak performance or recovering from injury.
