Horrendous and cheap, overpriced. Go to Target - you are much better off!

Awesome selection of items that you really won't find anywhere else. I went in to get some Christmas gifts, expecting to see more of the same. I was really excited to see a variety of unique and very personal gifts. You can tell that everything is well thought out and hand picked! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely be returning next time I need to buy any gifts!

Amazing store! There are really a lot of unique treasures in this place. I went here to get my holiday shopping done and ended up getting myself some gifts as well. I will be back as I already regret not getting a couple things I saw. Hope they're still there.

If you're in the neighborhood you have to check out Sloane Square. They have very interesting items that would make great gifts for the holidays or any other occasions. Courtney is super knowledgeable about decor and is a blast to talk to.

I stopped into Sloan Square for small business Saturday recently and loved the store. The home and personal items sold are very well curated for style, and even though I am not a pot smoker I loved their collection of sleek smoking accessories. Candles, beautiful scarfs, home accents... they are all here. I love to see businesses like Sloan Square in Jersey City!

This is a museum of design cleverly disguised as a neighborhood shop! The carefully curated selection of decorative items are the perfect hostess or housewarming present. Never spend less than a half an hour carefully looking up and down at all that this gem has to offer- and keep coming back as, like many multi-layered experiences, it changes with the day. I absolutely felt as if I were in the home of the creator of this amazing environment (And I was! Courtney Sloane the shop's owner introduces each item and its heritage to you as you walk through this treasure trove). This is my go-to for both business and personal gifting as well as a way to gradually develop my own collection of precious objects. Avail yourself of the staff's expertise for finding the perfect present for the impossible to please.

I'm so glad this very chic but happy store opened in my neighborhood. I met the owner, Courtney Sloane, and she is a nationally known interior designer but you would never know it by how warm and friendly she is. The store had home decor but also great apparel and accessory items. She even has a catalog you can browse for furniture and lighting and prices can range from inexpensive to top level. Best of all, I now have a go to spot for scented candles and house gifts when I don't want to take alcohol.

I happened upon this amazing gem after sipping one of the most delicious black iced coffees ever at Bucket & Bay right next door (check out my review). While this may sound cheesy in describing a home decor store, walking into Sloane Square I immediately felt "at home." I have spent the past two weekends scouting JC as a possible place to move from Williamsburg, where I've lived for years and years, as I'm trying to beat out the mad rush I expect to happen when the L train shuts down. Walking into Sloane Square really drove home how amazingly cool and artistic this neighborhood is. The first thing I noticed was the absolutely amazing music playing through the sound system, as well as some of the most beautiful mirrors I've ever seen in my life. They have a mirror made out of what looks like peacock feathers that is out of this world, as well as a collection of incredible fragrance dispensers and candles. I met two wonderful women there - Ade, who is about the sweetest, most welcoming person I have ever met (it turns out she is also an amazing sculptor who uses human hair as her medium - her work is incredible), and the lady herself, Courtney Sloane. They helped me find the three small trinkets in the store that I just could not leave without - a gorgeous fountain pen, a candle (Courtney went through a lot of trouble to get me the perfectly scented one), and a cute plaque that says "Good Vibes Only." They should probably just call the place "Good Vibes Only" because that is exactly what you experience when you walk in. If I do take the leap and move from Brooklyn to JC, I know what my first stop will be: Sloane Square. And I'll make a wish list of housewarming gifts of stuff all my friends can buy me there!! There are lots of little trinkets that are perfect for warming the home, as well as artisan (I hate that word, but it applies here) furniture, from gushy couches to incredible handmade tables, to lighting fixtures that simply radiate magic. In fact, "magic" is really the word I'd zone in on to describe this place. From the incredible sage-like personality of Courtney, to Ade's radiant warmth and creativity, to all the incredible furniture and fixtures on display, I was really just blown away. Apparently they are going to start having events here, too. Oh, and when I went home, I learned that Courtney actually worked on design projects for Queen Latifah (!!!!) and designed the set for one of the original seasons of America's Next Top Model (not really my thing, but still cool). While she carried herself like someone who has seen it all, she was super, super friendly and accommodating and was all too happy to help me find what I was looking for even though I clearly didn't want to buy a couch. Anyway, really cool and very highly recommended, especially if you are looking for a special one-of-a-kind gift. I gotta say, as someone who has always kind of looked down my nose at Jersey, JC is popping like crazy. I'm not quite ready to take the plunge, but between Bucket & Bay, Sloane Square, and the french pastry place down the street, it is high up on my list of places that I'd consider moving, and has Long Island City beat by a long shot.
