If your 4 year old child who makes a purchase, even though you have parental controls on and a child is an unauthorized user which is classified as fraud, they will make you eat that money.

Please people DO NOT bank with Santander Bank. They are the most SHITTIEST bank ever. If you go to open an account with this bank they DO NOT issue you a card on the spot. After they take your money that's when they tell you to wait until you get your card to have access to your account. Their customer service is HORRENDOUS; I filed a dispute over some charges that was on my account, they told me that they had to blocked my card and send me a new one, and also it takes 10 business days to get the new card; I asked if I can go to one of their branch to get a new card but I was told that they don't issue cards in their branches and the only option is you will have to wait for the 10 business days for your card to arrive in the mail. While waiting for the card the merchant sent me an email telling me that they had issued me a refund, I was ecstatic to get my money because I am a single mother of two and I haven't been able to go back to work since my accident in January 2020. So I hurriedly went and checked my account I saw the refund but to my surprised that stupid / shitty Santander bank went and issued my money back to the merchant, so now I'm without my money and nothing from the merchant and the stupid bank is saying I have to pay them $195.00, like I did something to them. I told them I am not giving them s*** because I am $300 missing from my account with nothing to show for it and nobody knows where is my money. I called the bank, got their voicemail that said no agent was available to leave a message but nobody ever called me back. After almost a month of waiting I called them on the phone when I was able to speak with someone she asked me how she could help I explained the situation and all she could do was to hang up the phone on me. I called back the second time and after waiting on the phone for almost 20 minutes I was able to speak with another female; so I explained the problem to her so she told me to wait that she was putting a manager on the phone, I waited patiently until the manager by the name of Amanda came on the phone as I was talking to her she hung up on me again and NEVER call me back. All these people know how to do is to take your money and doesn't do S*** to help you when you have any PROBLEM. Their customer service is very TERRIBLE AND RUDE and that including management. I will NEVER bank with them again and PLEASE I am PLEADING with everyone DO NOT BANK WITH SANTANDER BANK. My friend told me about them but I didn't listen and now I am paying for not listening to her. I am out of my money and nobody to help me to get my money back or do something for me. God do not like ugly, your need to STOP STEALING FROM THE POOR. Once again DO NOT bank with SANTANDER BANK they will STEAL YOUR MONEY just how they did to me. I wish there was a way to give them no star because my one star is too much for them. You guys will BURN in HELL for the WICKEDNESS YOUR ARE DOING TO THE POOR PEOPLE.

Asked to break a 20 and it seems like they didnt have enough tens. First thing out of the tellers mouth was 'I'll only do it once but you'd have to open an account with us next time' Same tactic Wells Fargo would use to customers who were visiting the bank. TD Bank and BOA never asked me to be a member of their bank to break a 20.

I went to the bank to close my account. The staff was friendly but somehow my account was never closed out. I called and the man was nice, but it was extremely frustrating that what I thought was resolved two months ago, was not. The two stars are only because the people at the downtown jersey city branch were pleasant but other than that. I did not like this bank.

It's your run of the mill bank. Just that they're a bit slower than most other branches I've been to... But the nice thing about this one is the walk up teller that's right outside of the bank. ATM in the lobby is usually working too. Sovereign Bank branches are now classified as Santander Bank.
