This neighborhood gem had amazing food and service! "The Tastes" options to share were delicious. Loved the lamb with humus, shrimp with jalapeno feta and the chicken kabob entree were a big hit! The waiter was very attentive and had a great knowledge of the menu. We loved his recommendations. It's a great place for a business lunch or leisure lunch with a friend or family. Definitely recommend!

Our son cannot eat gluten, dairy, oils, or many other ingredients yet he had a delicious meal of roasted vegetables, rice with sour cherries, and for desert the faloud. Everything was delicious right down to the sparkling water. We felt like honored and pampered guests. The staff seemed to all love their jobs and to genuinely want us to have a nice time.

Great restaurant! My friend recommended it and I invited out-of-town guests. They loved it! Only downside for me is it is very, very noisy when the dining room is full. I'll still come back though! The lamb kabobs were out of this world - cooked just right (med) and tender as all get out.

We were celebrating my birthday last Friday and what a wonderful choice of a restaurant. It was 7 of us. A table outside was arranged for us. Loved the concrete table and the beautiful lamps used. The dinnerware was beautiful and sophisticated. And the food! Every item we ordered was a huge hit with the guests. We loved the appetizers of mushroom hummus (the hummus was silky smooth), the eggplant with the fried shallots was a version I never had before, the dolmas were quite meaty. I did love the house bread and the little salad we were given on the house. Each of us ordered either a kebab, steak, or duck dish. The meats were of very good quality, soft and succulent. I loved how they give you the choice of splitting the rice with a salad. The portions are quite big!! But most of all, I loved the service. The wait staff and manager checked on us some 4-5 times. The waitress was super nice and even brought us the two cakes my friends brought with them as a birthday surprise. I was very touched that we were able to have our own cakes as a lot of restaurants do not allow outside food. And best of all, we did not feel rushed even during a busy night. We did notice a long line of people waiting outside. We really loved everything about this restaurant: the decor, the ambience, the colors, the food, the staff and the service. The weather was also perfect for an outdoor seating! We do plan to be back many times! Thank you for making my night a very special night!

The only thing I didn't like was the ice cream sandwich. The ice cream has a saffron flavor. Not good. The table next to us didn't like it either. Other than that everything else was delicious. The chilean sea bass and lamb, OMG!

We always go back to Rumi's kitchen for their delicious Persian food. All their Kabobs and appetizers are amazing and cooked perfectly. The service was great. I highly recommend this place.

Visted in the afternoon in late Sept 2024. The food was amazing! The Chilean bass is a must. White Chocolate cardamom cake with strawberry sauce.....DELICIOUS! My date had shrimp with a dipping sauce as an appetizer. He devoured the shrimp and raved about the dipping sauce. So much that he wanted me to try it. After one taste, I politely took the container and commenced to sopping the dipping sauce with the warm soft persian bread as if it was biscuits and syrup. So flavorful and good. This spot had a lovely ambiance as well. It was dimly lit and cozy with music playing at an audible level in the background yet not overly loud where one would need to shout to have a conversation. It was a great experience and I will revisit this restaurant in the future. L

Rumi's Kitchen was outstanding. The food-just incredible! and the service (Richard!) was just super! I loved how the whole team understood the customers and treated everyone with such kindness

Overall experience was just alright. We arrived for an 8pm reservation and were seated at 8:30pm. The food was okay, not great, not bad. Staff was very friendly and atmosphere was nice. Also enjoyed our drinks but overall probably would not come back.

Food a service we exceptional ad usual! Even when our meal needed correcting. The Manager was kind, corrected the order and even provided a complimentary meal and dessert! Well done!

One of the best meals I have had this year locally.. a very welcoming and friendly staff.. the food taste fresh and the flavors are to die for.. food comes out steaming hot.. bar staff was amaaaaazing, very knowledgeable of their dishes and drinks.. I shall return.

Our server was so attentive, accommodating and professional. She had a wonderful smile. The food was really authentic and tasty. The ghaimeh and mirza were outstanding. The sabzi was somewhat tired. Having fresh looking herbs is a must in a Persian restaurant.

We really enjoyed our first visit to Rumi's kitchen. Food is interesting and really satisfying. Service was attentive and prompt. Only downside was the noise level but we can forgive that for the overall experience. Well done!

We absolutely loved our dining experience at Rumi's and will definitely return next time I visit DC. The server was so adorable and upbeat. Everything she recommended was great. We loved the apps and salads and our main courses were absolutely delicious. We ordered the chicken and beef kebabs plus a salmon dish for the four of us. We also loved how they served family style on a large platter. The baklava was a great finale. The ambiance is very cool so this would be a wonderful choice for a special occasion or fine dining experience!

We celebrated our 41st Anniversary there. Great location, easy parking. Excellent service, dishes were unique and delicious. You can see how bread is prepared. Gets warm at your table and the accompanying platter is superb!
