The worst medical facility In Jersey City. The staff has absolutely no knowledge on anything. Billing my insurance for a sick visit even though all I needed was a prescription (insurance fraud some might say) The doctor didn’t even examine me.

If I could give a negative star, I would! Since my Dr. retired, I was given a random Dr. who I was not even informed on who he/she is or given a choice. I had paperwork for the provider to fill out so I scheduled an appointment with one of the provider as I was told that the supposedly my new primary was not scheduled on certain days. As I went about my appointment, this Dr. who I forgot her name had very little interest and seemed confused. On top of that, she spoke very little and did not even ask about my health. Fast forward, I needed refills on my thyroid medication and some random Dr. (bouncing Dr. to another) only gave limited refills as if I didn't need more. As far as I know, my medication should NOT be limited or change until my next Lab work. Lab work results will determined if I need changes on my medication. Otherwise, my dosage remains the same!!! So, of course that ran out. Called this Dr. Patel located on 46 Essex St. who is supposedly my NEW primary to ask for refills. Keep in mind, the pharmacy also sent a request for my refills. The receptionist stated they sent over the message and will review when he gets to it (meaning, when we wants to!!!) Called after New Year and was told the same thing!!! The new front desk was not helpful at all! Sucking her teeth and trying to whisper as if I didn't hear her (need customer service training.) Since the Dr. is in, why not let him know when he becomes available ( that place is never packed anyway. Now I know why!) that a pt. is needed a refill? Dr. PATEL is not ATTENTIVE WITH YOUR NEEDS!!! DON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ ON REVIEWS! IF YOUR DR SHOWS NO TO VERY LITTLE INTEREST, I SUGGEST ONCE YOU WALK OUT OF THAT OFFICE FIND YOURSELF A NEW ONE!!! THIS DOCTOR MUST OF GOTTEN HIS MEDICAL LICENSE AT A DOLLAR STORE!!!! YOU SHOULD NOT BE WAITING THIS LONG FOR A REFILL!!!

Words can not express how sad I am to write this. My family have been patients for over 20. years and have enjoyed quality care. I now am finding a new doctor. Here is why : It is impossible to get an appointment, you never get called back for test results, the office never answers the phone. There is a maim number which doesn't help, I have taken to driving to the office to get a refill and any help, You can never get a refill for prescriptions on the phone, they want money for everything including telling you a test result, even the doctors admit that the quality of care has gone down since corporate took over. Riverside side was an amazing family practice where they cared about their patients and now it is a money making machine where your health doesn't matter.

This review is specifically for the LabCorp/Phlebotomist - not the practice.I needed to have bloodwork done on my 1 year old. I was so nervous and didn't know where to go to have it done (the baby's pediatricians office does not do it and a parent's group referred me here instead). At this location, there's a private LabCorp room right in reception where they do bloodwork. The phlebotomist was wonderful and was so patient and kind with the baby. You can just walk in and there was no wait time when we went (Saturday morning). Thank you to the kind technician for making a tough procedure that much more bearable.

They are courteous and available on Sat. That is a plus point. But somehow they get allall your private data by affiliating themselves with a hospital.

I came in as an urgent sick visit and Dr.Patel saw me. I told him what was going on and he told me it was in my head and offered me Motrin. He did not examine me or care what I was saying. He kept looking at his phone and watch as if he was in a hurry. I tried telling g him I was hospitalized recently involving similar issues and Was placed in the ICU and he just nodded and continued to someone. Disgusting and patronizing behavior from someone who took an oath to do everything in his power to help his patients.

They've always had problems with timely appointments and front desk organization but it's gotten worse since Optum took over. Appointments take over an hour and most of it's spent waiting. That is, if you can get an appointment. You can't call them directly for an appointment. But even if you walk directly up to the front desk for an appointment, it isn't much help. They refuse to help you schedule any appointments until a month before your desired date (by which time all the appointment slots have filled up) and even then, they get it wrong. They canceled my child's appointment twice in a week in less than a day's notice. Nice doctors though.

This was the first time taking my kid to the clinic and the doctor was thorough and good. BUT it's hell to get through to anyone at the office or to reach anyone at all. I now value the previous physician who was so accessible but has now retired. WHY CAN'T PEOPLE reach the office directly? This is insane.

Horrible provider after Optum take over. A month of wait for blood test review call and they have the gall to screw it up! Stay away from the place! Find another provider and move on!

Update from 2023: The last 2 times I've phoned for sick visits, appointments were not available for the next 48h. Really concerned about the change in service/ availability of appointment and I'll be following up with office manger as well as researching new options. For example, waiting 48h for a strep test doesn't make sense at all! From 2018: For more than 3 years, they’ve been great caring for our little one. Truly compassionate care.

Staff here don’t care about patients appointment timing and make you wait even though there are no patients ahead of you. They literally don’t care how long you wait. Just for well visit, they will take 2 hours. Not coming back here ever again and won’t recommend anyone to even try it out.

Receptionist with braids and glasses turned away my sick son due to the doctor not taking my insurance on a Monday? Have never had an issue with this before at any of the offices. Stating, well we have other patients and how is the doctor going to get paid? Who says that? There should be exceptions for situations like this when a nurse tells me to come in they can squeeze me in and than it’s a no last minute. Zero help whatsoever and not even an offer to help find us another appointment in a different location. And a manager is in a meeting while you have people waiting? Worst customer ever experienced from this person, I wish I got there name.

Terrible experience with billing. They incorrectly billed me for something that my insurance covered because they sent the wrong code to the insurance. Their operator told me I couldn't dispute the charge with them and only via email, I sent multiple emails to the dispute department and every time I was told they would get back to me. They never got back to me and instead sent my bill to collections. Do not recommend working with them.
