So I do have to update my last review. I had Dr. B personally call me and explain in depth my dogs health and also apologize for the previous doctor and told me she no longer works there. Dr. B really cares about his patients and clients and because of this I respect this animal clinic and his professionalism and will be sure to book with only him in the future.

I've been a customer of them for years. I was gone and ran out of my cat's prescription for food. My cat sitter couldn't bring him in. He was due for a yearly appointment that I missed by a month. So they won't fill the order bc they say "it's a legal obligation" Really? He He's MY cat and needs that particular food. They're awful. Find a different vet. If my cat gets sick and dies over a missed month I'll sue them to the moon.

Really horrible experience - My cat is overweight, which the vet discussed with me. Then her and the vet tech go in the very next room where I could hear completely clearly them saying how "insanely overweight" he was and even compared it to being on my 600 pound life. They went on to discuss how if they had the same body proportions as my cat they would feel it was a medical emergency and "disgusting". Completely unprofessional and infuriating. Who is it benefitting to speak like that about an animal? Never going back.

I have 3 pets who have been to this clinic but lately their policy and practices are not geared towards care of the pets but greed. I brought my new puppy for follow up vaccinations and they tried to and succeeded in giving extra shots that he had already gotten. I had to literally study the vaccination chart and schedule online and question them. This happened despite me emailing them the list of vaccination he already received. The vet tech infront of me gave my 2/3 month old puppy the shot with big needles and said the smaller one takes too long to the other tech assisting him. You have to be knowledgeable on these things or else they will SELL u things you absolutely don't need and aren't a part of recommended vaccinations. My cat was getting annual FVRCP , I found out it didn't need to be annual; the recd is for 3years the lady at the office tells me they only have annual. The problem with just getting the annual is, it comes tied with doctors visit which I didn't ask for. On top of everything they try to charge you for appt and claim 24 hr policy when u try to cancel after learning about their practices. There is no policy of 24 hour on the website or in the msg, they just care about money. They will not b making any money from my pets anymore.

They will gaslight you when you say your puppy is sick then turn you away when you come in for treatment. My puppy had a limp and the vet told me she was fine. The arm got worse until she couldn't extend it or put any weight on it. Came running back to the doctor's office only to be turned away. Vet refused to see her. Came back the next day, "sorry office closing early today." Really? AVOID THIS VET!!!!!

Scheduled an appointment for cat to be told her anal glands were full. My cat continued to feel terrible, when I took my cat to another vet they actually were able to tell me the issue. My cat was experiencing constipation and rectum bleeding. The Veterinarian and tech at this hospital were unable to determine the issues. They charged me $360 for services that were not truthful nor helpful. Moral to the story avoid this place, they care more about the money!

Over $100 JUST for the office visit. AND they want a deposit to make sure you'll show up! The local vets have gotten completely lost in greed, and have forgotten that they are actually supposed to take care of pets. This is disgusting. I'll keep looking. Vets are even greedier than dentists now! I don't know how they sleep at night!

Generally have a positive experience with this clinic for simple and moderate cases. When you need vet care for emergency or severe cases, try other, more specializes clinics. Also, use specialist vets for guinea pigs and other animals who are not canine or feline. This is not such a specialist clinic. Through the years the turnover of young vets at this clinic is disconcerting.

I found this veterinary clinic in Jersey City several weeks ago and I'm so glad that I did! What an amazing and attentive group of professionals. From our first visit with Dr. Macy and staff to our second visit with Dr. Buchholz and and his staff members Charles and Valerie they have all been caring and concerned about our dog's treatment options. I am so grateful to have found this team to support us as we care for our furry family members. Shout out to the superstar front office team: Sherry, Maria, Lily and Christine. Best in the pet care business! Thank you for taking care of us today and always. DaMar, Ramone, Dexter & Kingsley

Run and don't think about turning back! Please do yourself a favor and don't waste an ounce of your time and your money here! Take the extra time and effort and take your loving animal somewhere else locally that will actually care for your animal bc here they just want your money and don't give a care in the world about our furry animals! My pet is now 9 months and I was NEVER told that my pet needed the heart worm pills, and I repeatedly would ask; is my pet good to go?? Is he up to date with everything he needs!!??? They never once mentioned how my pet on a monthly basis would need his heart worm and flee medications! I had to find out from my relative which is not even a Vet! Besides that horrible experience they charge a horrible visit fee on top of that whatever your pet will need. Trust me, you will find better vets in the area with Reasonable prices that will genuinely care and put the extra effort in caring for your pet and not " Forgetting" to mention to you if your pet is up to date with everything they need! Waste of my time and money! Ridiculous to call yourself a vet when you can't even remember what a healthy pet needs in order to remain healthy and leave all this out bc you forgot to mention it. How sad!

Wish I could put zero stars. Brought our puppy here to establish him with a good vet. We were happy with the service for his vaccinations & exam even though they were a little pricey. We proceeded to schedule him to get neutered with this vet due to our satisfaction with the first appointment. We also got him tested for parasites/worms etc (basic puppy check up things). Fast forward we get him neutered and upon picking him up inquire about getting him heartworm/flea/tick protection. The staff member at the front says we don't have it here you just have to go online and submit a request the vet will approve it and it will be shipped directly to you. Well, fast forward I try to purchase it and it was denied by the vet saying we have to bring him in for an exam first. I assumed since we just spent close to $1,000 dollars this was a mistake. Upon calling the vet, they say no sorry he needs to come in. WE JUST HAD HIM IN! We spent a ton of money & now they want more just so we can get him on prevention medication? Funny how the woman at the front made no mention of this, obviously because he was just seen! Clearly the care is not about the pet it's about money. I call our other dogs vet, they have not seen him since November 2022 & they refill his prevention prescription right away no problem. Will not be going back to Jersey City Animal Hospital again. Rip off artists & would absolutely not recommend to anyone.

Best vet in jersey city. Have been going to them since 2010. Staff is amazingly responsive, and doctors are empathetic. Lovey all around.

As a mother, the possibility of my son having cancer was in the back of my mind. We always think the worst. The swelling on his face was not subsiding, dismissing the chances that it could have been a bee sting, or an allergy to pollen, or a fungus. I did not want to believe. He is a joyful child who loves chasing after cats, squirrels, douchebags, and plunging into the lake at Lincoln Park. On his tush, the hamza is etched to ward off evil eye and...douchebags. He is a rescue, from a terrible family, and landed into my arms like a blessing. So for reassurance, I went to Animal Clinic as they are walking distance from my house. We had the clinic to ourselves as it was a Thursday morning. He got sedated and tests and x rays were made on him. While the cytology came out inconclusive and no metastasis was present anywhere in his body, there was an extremely high chance that it was a tumor and malignant as such due to how fast it was growing. They sent us home with steroids to see if they would work on bringing the swelling down while advising me to make an appointment with an oncologist. There are no vet oncologists in Jersey City. There are no vet specialists for that matter, in Jersey City. So...ok....why am I giving the clinic 5 stars? they allowed my son to rest after the tests and wean off the sedation. He stayed in a room by himself, dozing off the sedatives, until he was able to walk on his own. It took 3 hours for that to happen and I am appreciative for them not to have kicked us out once exams were done. I brought with me my work and carried on my job at the clinic; it was like any other working day, while waiting to be able to walk back home. He woke up, was able to walk and we had a lovely stroll back to our fluffy beds and tushy tickles. Every small gesture of kindness towards my child is worth gold. Didn't matter if the tests were inconclusive and still had to pay for them. They treated my son well and that's all that matters.
