Had a great experience using Morrisseys. Movers were very quick while being careful. Price was very affordable and by far the cheapest compared to any other quotes that I was provided from others I called.

2nd time using Helen's moving service. Easy to coordinate and plan the move with her. We got George and his team and they helped us move from Hoboken to Jersey City quickly and efficiently. No time wasting and hard working crew. Never had any issues and I highly recommend them for an affordable and dependable service.

Totally unprofessional. Cancelled same day of service leaving me hanging. The manager said my head hurts and hung up the phone. There is no accountability. If you want to take that risk then good luck!

Run for your life. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review, especially when I assume the business is independently owned. Nevertheless, insufficient words exist in the English language to describe just how inexplicably, surreally horrible was the entire experience, so I must spare others a similar fate. If you don't want to read, the short version is: these guys may be cheaper than competition, but, seriously, borrow money from loved ones if you must to upgrade. Where to begin...dispatcher's calls during the planning phase were all at 8:00am, including one the day before the move to inform me that, instead of the 9am scheduled start time, movers would be arriving at 8:00am, but that I "would be awake anyway though, right?" This was followed by an email at 2:26am stating that, in fact, the movers would arrive at 9:00am as scheduled, which I saw at 7:45am, having woken up by alarm for the 8am start. Next, the "you can pay cash or credit card" became "must pay with credit card." Next, the moving team almost drove off the job not once, but twice. First time, due to parking. Mind you, I am a 12-year resident of the neighborhood--I know the cops, the neighborhood association, the block association, all neighboring land owners and businesses. I assured the movers there was no issue to park the truck partially overlapping into space that was not a valid parking spot (this was in lieu of me paying $250 demanded by the City for no-parking signs). I assured the driver there would be no issue, and guaranteed payment of any violation or ticket. In response, the driver inveighed that I had not secured the necessary permits, got back in the truck, and drove off. Miraculously, I convinced another driver to move his car, which created sufficient space for the truck. I called the dispatcher, who convinced the moving team to return and do the job, granted, still in an illegal space, since this time was fully blocking landlord's driveway, to which he consented. Upon entering my apartment, the team lead took one look at the stacks of boxes (12 years living in a 2BR apartment tends to result in lots of stuff!) and says "oh hell no, we're not doing this today, I am not doing this today!" and proceeds to walk off the job - again. The team lead called the dispatcher, stating she was lied to, that dispatch informed her the job was a 1Br not a 2Br, and that she was not going to move a 2Br. By this point, everyone is hollering and cursing, including me, who was on the speaker phone and eventually convinced everyone to complete the job as scheduled/contracted. Then, for the entire first leg, several hours, the moving team is cursing, grumbling, swearing up and down about every last thing. Once everything was nearly loaded on the truck, I went up to the apartment to check status. Many items remained to be loaded, not least of which, my (very small bachelor pad-style) kitchen table and chairs, mattress frame, other items, which I brought to their attention. Response: "you were not up here directing us which items to take or not take (this was untrue, mind you, save for a lunch break), so, no, that's it, that's all we're taking, we're done." Even if it were true that I had not been directing which items to load, there I in fact stood, specifying more items remained, including air conditioners, furniture, large potted plants; that the job was not done. Nope, they said the kitchen table and chairs were the last, after that they are done. Mind you, they're paid hourly, not fixed-rate. So they drove off, leaving behind a large potted plant, two heavy 4'x4' panel oil paintings created by me (thus carrying no value), and even if they did carry value, the contract provided for the use of bubble wrap specifically for just such items, for which they charge extra. But no, the mover just literally said to me "we're not taking those, they're not wrapped." So I said, wrap them and charge me for the bubble wrap, but was told they just

Stay Away!! We booked with them months ago and now less than a week before they move, they called me to tell me "sorry, we can no longer move you on that day and don't have the truck!" This put our family in such a bad situation. The owner and Helen didn't even try to figure out a way to make it work on the day they confirmed and promised. It's so last minute that its very hard to find another mover in time. Extremely unprofessional and horrible service. I just want to warn people to stay away because I wouldn't want this to happen to any other family last minute!

STAY AWAY! This is an extremely unprofessional company. We booked and the truck arrived when I went downstairs to let them in, the driver left. I called Helen to ask what was going on and she said the driver would not go around the block and come back to park and begin the job. She said she couldn’t make the driver come back and she didn’t know what to tell me. She would not escalate this to a superior. I took off of work, I planned my whole day around the move. I saw the truck down the block and they would not come back simply because the driver did not want to. We ended up paying so so much more to another replacement company because we needed to be out the next day. This company was unhelpful, unprofessional and unwilling to help. What a nightmare of an experience. Totally screwed. DO NOT HIRE!!!

Morrissey's made my entire moving expereince great from start to finish! Helen was very responsive and easy to coordinate with, and the moving team was phenomenal. They showed up exactly on time and moved me out of my old apartment and into a third floor walk up in less than three hours! The final cost was right in line with what Helen quoted me. Couldn't have been happier with the entire experience, would recommend them to anyone in need of movers and would absolutely use them again in the future!!

My entire moving experience with Morrissey was great! The movers were easy to book through Helen. She was extremely responsive to all my questions and requests. She was also upfront on all costs. The final bill was very straight forward and in line with the estimate Helen provided. The bill did not include any hidden fees or extra add on costs. Movers are very quick, efficient and professional. I would highly recommend this company for any move.

Morrissey moving cancelled our move 5 minutes after they were due, after seeing the truck it must have been an outsourced truck and would not come down the block because it was a dead end street and said his truck was too big , not true we've had plenty of trucks larger then his down our block with no problems. When the driver called me himself his response was "f" you I'm not doing enjoy your day. If that's the way they speak to you after they left you high and dry on the day you need to be out of your home hi hope they go bankrupt fast and out of business. No business should treat people this way.

Have now used Morrisey's twice for a move, one out of Manhattan and one within Hoboken. The first one was up and down 4 flights of stairs, and they did a great job. Second job was just a good. Helen keeps you posted all along and the movers are always EFFICIENT which is really great. Would reccoment!

Had a great experience with Morrisey's. They were very responsive leading up to the move which I really appreciated. The crew showed up right on time, wore masks, and were so efficient. I still can't believe how fast they were able to move me into my new apartment. Their services were very budget friendly too which helped make it a great value. I definitely recommend Morrisey's!
