The IRS triggered an audit for my business for the last 3 tax yrs, I spent a lot of time researching and calling high powered lawyers and accountants. After discussing my case with John I knew he was “my guy”.John and his team went right to work and immediately started to get results that I needed mostly to be assured .John is a tell it like it is and does not sugar coat anything but his expertise is what really got me the results beyond my expectations.Communication and accessibility were perfect. Honestly it was and can be a frightening feeling and I have to admit john and his team specifically Cynthia were amazing.5 stars all the wayBill

After hiring JLD TAX RESOLUTION GROUP to provide services for my family, I had an unexpected and extremely unsatisfactory experience. Despite multiple attempts of communication through various outlets such as email and an attorney, no resolution was achieved - leaving me frustrated after 18 months of waiting with unmet needs. Unfortunately, there appears to be only one other option: legal action against the business in order to receive compensation that is rightfully owed. It's unfortunate when trusting businesses fail us like this! Overall, my experience with Jonathan Donenfeld was very disappointing. I would not recommend this CPA to anyone, as they did not perform the services I requested after being paid and were unresponsive to my attempts to reach them. If you are looking for reliable and responsive accounting services, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I have had the pleasure to work with Jon and his team on my taxes for the past six years. They are efficient, reasonably priced and reliable. They make the process as easy as possible and are there to help if questions arise, either during tax season or throughout the year, to help you plan proactively. He also communicates about relevant changes to tax code or legislation that could impact you. I definitely recommend JLD tax to anyone looking for a good tax accountant in the NY/NJ area.

They promised to walk me through amending my taxes from my previous tax accountant, once I paid them , they sent me a excel sheet and told me to fill it out , I tried to call them and I wouldn’t get a call back ever, and they filed my taxes with no expenses even though I’m self employed , cost me an additional 15k that I shouldn’t have paid, and that was only 1 year. They costed me an additional 50k with no explanation and no call back. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYBODY , I would LIKE TO REQUEST A REFUND , but I could never get anyone on the phone.

I see after reading reviews that the experience I had is on brand for JLD taxes. My fiance David Haldeman and I paid a significant sum of money for a tax resolution of multiple years in the middle of last year. We never received any kind of summary of this resolution even though during a call Jonathan claimed to be looking at the resolution and said we didn’t owe any money. Numerous notices from the IRS say otherwise. Despite multiple calls and emails requesting this summary we got no response from Jonathan or his offices. Fortunately I paid with American Express who quickly supported my claim of fraud and we were able to get the money back. Of course we are back to square one but with time wasted on this operation. I’m interested to see if Jonathan will take time to respond to this review as he certainly didn’t seem to have the time to talk to us.

Jonathan was very responsive at first, but the minute we paid over $1,000 to hire him and he received the money, getting any response from him was nearly impossible. We ultimately told him we wanted our money back because he hadn’t provided any service, didn’t answer any communication and didn’t file our taxes, he originally agreed but offered one call. Jonathan was late for our call which lasted only 5 minutes during which he only confirmed that the research we did (since he wasn’t answering our questions before) was accurate. We were still not satisfied as no advice of any kind was provided, only an excel spreadsheet that looks likes a bad version of TurboTax from 2 decades ago, Jonathan then changed his mind and offered to reimburse only 50% of our payment knowing that no service was still provided at this time other than 5 minutes over the phone to confirm a couple of accounting points we already researched for. He obviously stopped responding and we had to dispute the charge.Long story short: a dishonest thief

After doing nothing on my file, and ignoring a meeting call, they had the audacity to send me a credit card reauthorization form.MONTHS LATER - THEY ARE STILL SNEAKILY CHARGING MY CREDIT CARD EVEN THOUGH I DONT USE THEIT SERVICES ANYMORE!!!

3 years ago I formed my S-corp with JLD Tax and I'm still paying for all the corners they cut. I arranged for an appointment then and only got phone calls where they talked at me about filing employment taxes, not the appt for s-corp formation. Then they realized their mistake when they let me talk and crammed in any info for my s-corp in 5 mins. After that it was a slew of emails back and forth with missing documentation. I had to continuously ask for forms and documents they forgot to send. They were very short with me in emails and never explained anything to me about the process. I never left a review until now because now 3 years later my company was only ever registered federally and not with the state, so I owe more money due to interest. Also, they wrote in their email and contact info for my agent and so I never received any information or reminders for annual reports from my agent so those are also past due. I would never recommend this place to anyone trying to start a small business, they've been actively unhelpful.
