I went in for an oil change, as my last one was in early January but I was out of town a lot so only did 3,000 miles with my car. The car uses synthetic oil. I never get a receipt nor is there any confirmation that the oil change was actually done. When I got home I checked & could see that the other fluids had not been capped off even though I asked & the owner said yes, they were. He hadn't changed the windshield sticker so I went back in and asked him to do that. The oil filter has a 9/2/2022 date stamped on it. I'm annoyed at myself that I didn't mark the oil filter with some nail polish. The owner is a nice guy & Hoyos is so convenient but I think it's time to go elsewhere. I paid $80 cash.

Nasty guy with attitude who never helps and is ready to turn you away. He will give you every excuse and tell you what he's working on with other people cars. I went there today in the rain after calling and was told to come in he didn't even look at the car and spent ten minutes deturing me away. I hope something bad happens to him.

There's an old saying " finding a good mechanic is harder than finding a good Doctor"Well look no further, this shop is the best shop in Hudson county . They are honest , courteous, professional and they never over price you . The price they set is the price it is, no padding the bill no double talk straight forward communication.

This guy is annoying. Any job, he don’t do when customers are around there. He always asked you to go home. If you are around there he got angry and start yelling you. it means there are something wrong with his job. As an old customer with this business I faced he was ego and acted like he already have enough money. He is very disrespectful to customer. I am not recommended this place to others.Services: General repairs & maintenance

Very happy I did. They diagnosed the two issues I asked them to look into quickly. They reached out to me and were very upfront about what needed to be done right away, and what could wait.

Worse place to bring your vehicle. They use cheap parts and still OVER CHARGE! I lived on same street over 15+ years. I've heard rumors of them always scheming but decided to take my vehicle to their shop because the other shop close by closed down. When vehicle received, started making loud noises that were NEVER PRESENT. Then told me to fix that noise is extra $150. Took t to different mechanic and paid $30! DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THEIR SHOP! YOUR BETTER OFF ASKING A RANDOM PERSON OUTSIDE OF AUTOZONE.

What goes around comes around! I recently took my car to Hoyos Auto Repair and inquired about fixing an issue with my heat/AC panel. I spoke with the owner in person, he assessed the situation and said he would need to take a deeper look and then would call me back with a quote. A few hours later I received a call from the owner with a quote for the job. I agreed to the initial quote given and was told it would take 24-48 hours to complete the job.The next day I received a call from the owner, telling me that the part he ordered was not all that was needed and that it was going to cost more $$ to fix the issue. I didn’t get a good feeling about the situation and told him I did not accept the new quote and would not like to move forward with the job. He then responded by saying that I would still need to pay him for the labor because he “opened up the car”, I said, “no”, because the car was not fixed and the quote was based upon the vehicle being fix. I picked up my vehicle a few hours later.A week later I took my vehicle to another local mechanic, when he opened up the car to fix the same issue he informed me that parts were missing and a line had been intentionally cut! Clearly it doesn’t take an expert to conclude that the owner of Hoyos Auto Repair took some retaliation action, when I did not agree to pay for labor when the job was not completed in full.Bottom line, these people are untrustworthy and unethical. Don’t take your vehicle here!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Pretty much agree with all the other reasonable customers here. Edgar and Johan have had the misfortune of keeping at least 4 of my inexpensive old cars running for ~ 9 years. From entire engine replacement (they found a motor with less mileage and did the clutch as it was out) down to general maintenance and small but annoying motors and switches. They are honest, will show you parts that needed replaced and charge fairly which is worth any price.
