Great experience as a first time customer! When we were getting quotes for our move, others were quoting prices more than two times as what Sam did. We were initially quite sceptical as to how the quote could be so low when the others were quoting 3x, 4x of this. On the day of the actual move, the movers were on-time, diligent, respectful and completed all the tasks on time. I couldn't recommend them more. Don't be tricked by the low reviews, they're reliable and worth your money.

What an incredible experience with Big Sam Movers! I had recently closed on a new home in south jersey. Being a first time home buyer, my budget was being depleted due to more important things with my escrow/realtor fees. The last thing I needed was to be cheated on moving expense. They worked within my budget, my likes/dislikes and if I needed extra protective gears for my big items. My move started in Hoboken to Ocean County. Roughly, about 75 miles one way. The first time I spoke to Diane who had given me the quote, she was a sweetheart and pleasant to speak with. I gave her the dates, address/township and the best time to start the move. On the day of the move, the movers came on time and properly stowed all of my items into a huge truck with one driver and two movers. Once arrived on a 2 acres estate, I was astonished on how fast and diligently it took. The move took less than 3 hours from start to finish. My driveway fits about 12 cars (about 250 feet long) with a side garage entrance into the lower level of the basement. The huge truck drove right through the driveway with complete ease with the direction of all boxes/furniture placed in the location it needed to be (they also asked where would I want a specific box/item be placed in) . I couldn’t done this without them! They made my entire move stress-free, convenient and successful. Don’t look elsewhere, give them a try! Ask for Diane! She’s amazing!

We had a positive experience with our move from Jersey City to another location in NJ. Honestly didn't think the move would go so smooth. Was expecting for a disastrous move day but everything turned out to be better than expected. They were slightly delayed in the morning…We were expecting them at 9 am…but they showed up at 930 am (no big deal really).

Sam and Maria who I was always in contact with eased our worries all the time by telling us that they will take care of us and they did plus it was the most reasonable price.Thank you

I cannot speak highly enough of Sam and his team. I was very anxious about the move but he told me they would take care of everything and they did! They arrived on time, packed every single item - in box or loose! They also gave me advice about placement in my new place. They were sweet and personable. I highly recommend them to anyone moving!

One word. RUN. This company encompasses the true definition of unprofessional. To this day I can't believe I experienced unprofessionalism AND disrespect to this degree. First, Diane will consistently harass you via phone and e-mail by dangling what seems to be a fair quote. The day of my move was nothing less than chaotic. I had planned my move down to the details. I called and confirmed the inventory of my move 2 days prior as well as the day before to ensure we were on the same page. When the movers arrived, they told me that they would need more time for more men for my 2-bedroom apartment. I asked if it was possible for them to call another person to assist, and they instructed me to call Diane.I called Diane, she said they would need to take the truck, leave me and go pick the guy up (I guess they don't believe in Uber). I conceded and agreed to more time.They then used part of the time I was paying to eat their breakfast in the truck. They sent a third guy, who was VERY rude, and as I was letting the one nice mover know that I was heading to the storage unit he told me I'm not to talk to them I talk to him now. No intro, nothing.It took a gnarly turn when we went to the storage unit and they increased the price again. I called Diane telling her that the price was increased because they're saying they need more time to unload. I agreed again (as my items were being held hostage on their truck) I provided my CC to pay for the move. Immediately, the nasty guy tells me they don't take CC's. This comes after I confirmed it the day before the move that they do.Long story short, I call Diane again and now she calls me "F***ing liar" amongst many other slurs.My boyfriend had to come to the storage unit because he heard how rude the workers were to me over the phone. They IMMEDIATELY changed their tone with me when he arrived. They try to take advantage of women and thought I was gullible. I initially was going to put this in the past, but I truly CAN NOT believe that this even occurred. Even the storage staff were telling me how rude they were being to them! Uncalled for. Don't book them. Literally, run bro. Fast.

Broke the wheel of storage box - it will take very poor handling to completely take the wheels apart. They did not even know where the wheels are.Also broke bike brake lever.Very rude behavior.

PLEASE READ THIS!!! I used them before so decided to give them another shot, but what a mistake! They were so unprofessional and don’t know anything about customer service. First they didn’t even call to inform me that they are running late. After I called them they gave me different excuses every time as to why they are late. Finally, after going back and forth for 7 hours, they told me they’re not coming to help me with my move. This is SCAM!! The wort service I’ve ever gotten in my life. Please save your time and money and book with a company that’s reliable.Service: In-state moving

DO NOT USE BIG SAM MOVING COMPANY!!!!!!!!They are SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND SCAMMED US!!!!We were scheduled to have the movers show up at 9:30 AM. They didn’t show up so we we called them. Instead of them calling us to let us know they will be running late, we had to call them. 1st RED FLAG. Diane informed us they will be there by 10:30 because they had a flat tire. DIDN”T SHOW UP. Called back, now she says they will be here by 12:30PM. We were frustrated but waited. AGAIN DIDN’T SHOW UP! Now we called Diane and she tells us to call Mike, the person in contact with the drivers. We told him we had to be moved by 4PM. He promised that will happen and they will be here soon. We wait. Diane or Mike NEVER call us! We continuously have to call them for updates. Mike PROMISED they will be here by 2:30. Of course, THEY DON’T SHOW UP! Finally get a phone call at 3 saying the driver is on their way and will be there in 10 minutes. 30 minutes pass by and of course they didn’t show up. The driver calls saying he just left and will be here in 35 minutes. We wait another 45 minutes. and call back. The driver gets frustrated and says he will be here soon. 30 minutes pass by and no one has showed up. It’s now 5PM. We call Diane, Mike, and the driver to get an update and NO ONE PICKS UP!! We call from a friends phone thinking they are ignoring our calls, and of course Mike picks up and informs us no one will be showing up today!!!!! WHY DID WE HAVE TO CALL FROM A DIFFERENT NUMBER FOR THEM TO PICK UP TO TELL US THEY WON’T BE COMING!?! HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!!!The entire day went by and they played us all day and no one showed up!!! Luckily we have AMAZING friends and family who rolled up their sleeves and helped us disassemble all our furniture and we moved it all ourselves!!BIG SAM MOVING COMPANY IS SO UNRELIABLE, RUDE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! Moving is already SO STRESSFUL and the last thing you need is for the movers to do this!!PLEASE DO NOT USE BIG SAM MOVING COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!Service: In-state moving

They came to the house. Randomly wanted to bump the price up 300$ and then after removing two boxes they said it was too much work and then left. Highly unprofessional and all 3 of them should be unemployed with this work ethic. Why drive over an hour away from your office just to waste gas and not do any work? Didn't show up on the day of moving!! We had booked them a few weeks in advance for June 5th Saturday at 10am moving date. A day before the moving date, we sent them an email around 5 to confirm; however to our disbelief later in the evening around 7:30, Sam the owner called us and said they will not come on Saturday because they don't have a truck and that was it. Evening before the planned move, we were baffled. After pleading so much, Sam said they will try to come on Sunday at 10:00 AM. On Sunday, his crew came early at 9:00 AM and when we said we asked for 10 AM due to small children in the house that we need to attend to - we were threatened to leave and find someone else. Again, after pleading with Sam on the call, because of lack of choice - we couldn't find someone last minute - we had to agree with him. He asked for big tips for the workers which we gave because they worked as expected in the very hot weather day. After the move, when we asked Sam for some discount for not coming on contracted date - Sam the owner was very rude and unprofessional and was not willing to give any discount. I would not hire him or recommend Big Sam moving unless you are ok with moving some other day than the scheduled day. We have never done business with anyone so rude and unprofessional.

This business is very unprofessional. They showed up the day of the move and didn’t want to work and was very rude and unprofessional. The owner Sam called and apologized and said he would make it right the next day. They never showed up. Instead he stopped answering the phone . We booked them over a month in advance and they left us stuck. Had to fine a different moving company and pay a higher amount because it was last minute. This place shouldn’t even be in business. They are a bunch of scam artist. Don’t even waste your time. Will also file a complaint with the BBB.
