This place should be called meditation space. When you have appointment at 3pm the doctor will see you literally 40 or 50 min later. This is just unacceptable. Ni wonders only has 3 stars. I think 1 star is too much

Today is the day I fire this practice. Yesterday there was a system outage which prevented the staff to access appointment availability. I get that, it's not their fault. They stated to call back in 15 minutes, which is hard to get someone on the line in the first place and hold time was average 6 minutes. Called back in 30 minutes, system still down and was told to call back in 45 minutes. As a patient who is quite ill, this made it a very painful process. The part that I couldn't get passed is when I asked for a callback once the system is back up, they simply refused and apologized. The lack of logic makes no sense. Instead of asking patients to repeatedly call and hold, just return calls once everything is back up. It would decrease call volume and better serve patients. This demonstrated a lack of care and respect for patients, who are being taken for granted. We've got other choices!

I can't speak highly enough of Avenel- Iselin Medical Group. The entire experience, from the moment I walked in, was fantastic. The staff was friendly and efficient, and Joann Colbert PA-C was not only knowledgeable but also took the time to address all my questions and concerns. I will recommend this Medical Group 100%

I was excited to come here as it was not to far from home but unless you plan on waiting for 45 minutes to an hour or potentially more, I don't recommend this place at all. I did all my paper work and came early and checked in before my scheduled appointment time only to be left waiting to be helped. After waiting 50 minutes of waiting for a simple intro appointment, I told them to cancel my appointment and I don't plan on ever coming back.

Initial intake process took a bit longer than expected as I had to wait about 20 - 25 minutes as I checked in on time for my scheduled appointment. Follow-up appointment was smooth and a lot better. Dr. Colbert is very knowledgeable and very personable, which eases the anxiety being in a doctor's office. Nursing staff was great and nice. The check-out process was good and they provided lists of providers for specialists, which was very helpful.

One hour and counting on hold to reschedule an appointment.

Today was the worst experience I have ever had in all the years my wife and I have been going to this office. In addition to there being to many appointments set up for the same time period and the doctor running behind. I sat in the main lobby for 40 minutes before being called. Then while walking to back I clearly asked the nurses aid if the the doctor was running behind because I could just reschedule, she replied yes she was running behind but there’s is one patient ahead of you and she is with that patient now so you’ll be next. I proceeded to the examination room. While sitting there I could hear the doctor with a patient….. she then left and went to another room, and eventually to another. At that point I left to check out and the same nurse assistant came and got me out the line. I explained that didn’t appreciate being deceived and if she had of told me the truth regarding the doctors availability I would have left and rescheduled as stated to her but by not being truthful she took my choice away from me. She denied saying what did and then said it was what the doctor had told her and became agitated. In all I was in the office for close to 2 hours. When I finally saw the doctor she compounded the problem by saying she was with a surgical patient which caused the delay…. Does she not know how thin the walls are and I could clearly hear her entering the different rooms striking up three different conversations. I don’t like deception. The add to my anxiety my insoles were not fitted for me as was done for my wife, I was told I had to cut them when I got home. The paperwork I needed to sign for my insurance company was not provided. Just an all around bad experience. Everyone has bad days where things don’t go as planned but if I had been given the facts and not just being appeased I could have just made the choice to reschedule…..

This place does not respect your time and the check-in process is highly annoying with tons of texts and emails for one single appointment. Meanwhile the name of the doctor is nowhere on the reminder. They had trouble pulling up my insurance just to find out 15 minutes later, there was no issue at all.
This is one of those places where every doctor with the exception of only a few don’t care and just want to push you out and tell you, you have nothing wrong.
PS. Although I was late by 11 minutes, it is now 67 minutes after my schedule appointment and I am still waiting to be seen.
Time and time again, I get reminded why anything affiliated with RWJ Barnabas is TERRIBLE. stay away. I’m convinced this is for that reason.

I recently had a telehealth visit with Marina Grundman at the Avenel Iselin Medical Group, and unfortunately, my experience with their management has left me quite dissatisfied. During the virtual consultation, Marina assured me that my work note was ready and could be picked up from the office at my convenience.
However, upon reaching the office to collect the work note, I was met with a different reality. The document was not prepared as promised, leading to a frustrating delay. I ended up waiting for more than half an hour, which was not only inconvenient but also disrespectful of my time and health concerns.
The apparent lack of coordination and miscommunication within the Avenel Iselin Medical Group is concerning. It gives the impression that they are not prioritizing the timely and efficient delivery of services to their patients. This experience has left me questioning the overall management and organization of the medical group.
While I appreciate the convenience of telehealth visits, the subsequent inconvenience and wait time at the office have overshadowed the positive aspects of my virtual consultation. I hope that Avenel Iselin Medical Group takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issues in their management processes to ensure a more seamless experience for their patients in the future.

I am a patient of Dr perilman, on Thursday Jan 4th 2024, I called to make an appt with him but he was unavailable, I have been experiencing some issues with my left leg and also found a small lump by my rib cage I needed to have him look at both issues. They stated they had an appt that day at 7:50pm with Dr Swati Grupta. Ok I get there she comes into the examining room and asked why I'm there I explain to her what is going on first with my leg and I stated that I think I have a bakers cyst! She said do you have a medical degree I told her no I research online for the issue I'm having i know my body and its a pain that keeps me up at night and hurts all day.she stated stop researching your Dr a doctor and stated that it was just fatty tissue but would send me for a venous to assure blood flow was good. Now she says remove your bracelets so I can examine but with a condescending tone mind you all I had to do was move then out of the way. Then she stated my nails are too long do I realize how many germs are underneath my nails that they should be short i have had long well manicure nails since the 70 even before she was born I didn't want to disrespectful her. She then stated that was sending me for a stomach scan and before she left she stated how do you wipe your butt with those nail. I feel she was scarcastic, unprofessional and very condescending. I don't ever want her to see me again I rather wait for my doctor and she wrote the script for my abdomen wrong the hosp had to wait for a new one. They become MD at a young age and think it's ok to be condescending to people not this one! That's why I gave it 1 star because of her! Oh and guess what I have Bakers Cyst! I received the results by email from the hospital and they never gave me a call in ref to the venous its been over a week I did get a call Thursday the 11th of my stomach sonogram

Doctors are good but the staff is horrible. When you call your on hold for 20 minutes or longer. They told me my prescription was ready to come and pick it up. It wasn't ready I drove there for nothing
