“This place is amazing. The two guys running the store are a gift to humanity. So many hardware stores in NYC are run by dudes who have no idea what they are talking about, and are just looking to make a dime. Not these fellas. They actually can help you. Please note this is not really a self service kind of store. This is a full service place!”

“I have been to this store on multiple occasions over the years and am generally OK with the services received. Today was the exception. Some amateur comedian was at the desk and clowned around with me while I was there to pick up an online order placed last night. At after 1000 a.m., the order was not ready; the web site indicated the order was going to be available two hours after opening (0700 a.m.). I indicated I had not received an email indicating the order was complete when asked -- and then he looked it up and discovered they had an order that was not yet processed. Three people were at the front desk and no one was doing anything substantial other than talking when I arrived, so no one was paying attention to business. So, while another individual made up my order, the comedian tried again to joke with me about the paint color chosen. I corrected him and he said he was just joking around. I didn't react at all, but didn't indicate I was amused either. I remained polite and was very quiet as I received my receipt and paint cans and left. Be prepared for a wait, if they are busy, not to have your order ready if placed online. My wait wasn't very long, but if that had been the excuse they provided me had I asked why I had to wait or why my order wasn't done earlier, I might have had a funny retort for them. But I wasn't amused by the scenario. Very unprofessional and not what I expect at a retail store.”

They clearly were not just trying to make money and had a lot of experience. One of them told me that it's third-generation owned and operated and you can tell.
