WORST salon in HOBOKEN!!! The owner is extremely rude and arrogant. The staff seem scared to speak, like they’re slaves. The prices are outrageous for subpar work. Maria is the best of the worst. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
PS. I got a hint of antisemitism from the owner, but that’s another matter.

Terrible dirty and unsanitary don't go! I tried twice over the past 2 years and I will never go back there. Rude reception as well!

The first time I went in the middle of the day, the people were pleasant, but the manicure was mediocre. The second time I went in the busy evening and the woman was extremely rude and nasty to me in front of everyone for no reason (probably because they were busy and she was overwhelmed, I don't know, but other reviews also point out the rude staff). I walked out and went to the one down the street where they are nicer and more professional. Will not be back here. Not sure how people manage to stay in business treating customers like that when there is competition next door and all around.

The best of the best in Hoboken. I moved out of state and so sad I can’t bring this salon with me. I religiously saw Sun every 2 weeks for about 4-5 years and she never missed. She has attention to detail and she’s truly so talented at her craft. I would do the UV gel (hard gel/builder gel) and a gel pedicure (Blanca is my fave for pedis). You will not regret booking with Sun!

If you don't care how you are treated, Go to this place!
As a new resident of Hoboken, I chose to go to Moden Nails for my nails because it was close and handy to me. I visited there 10 times in total and am not returning! Rude and arrogant owners! You can't choose your nail technician whatsoever; prices are not clear!

Same thing just happened to me !!! As the most recent post . I didn’t even sit down and pick out a color and he came up to me and whispered to me demanded I pay extra tip .. stating girls are staying no one tips enough … if the girl asked me directly I wouldn’t mind but because I know they prob never even see the full real tip…
Poor girls because managers are greedy , selfish

Worst salon ever . Been going there for years and always had sup par work . Last time I went they told me in the middle of pedicure that they wouldn’t have to do my nails after having a set appointment . Didn’t even say anything about that . Today show up for my appointment and the manager has the nerve to come to me and state that they are kindly asking we tip more then usual for the girls . I’m a server and my income is based on tips .. I advise him I always pay in cash as well and tip 20% he said ok .. kindly they advised for more . I asked him who asks me for more .. he said oh I can’t say .. a company demanding all cash and I kindly oblige and then now demanding more then 20% tip .
Never have I heard of such greed . The poor girls probably don’t even see it .

I have been a long time customer of this nail salon and sadly I will not return.
I dropped my elderly mom off to get her nails done and when I returned to pick her up I was greeted by the owner demanding my mom tip his employee more than what she had already tipped. I found this so strange since every other time I had dropped my mom off I’ve paid and tipped when I arrived to pick her up. She doesn’t really know how grossly expensive this place is and so when she tipped she only gave about $7.
I always tip 20% and I found it incredibly rude that he met me outside to complain about this.
Maybe he should pay his workers a living wage and not demand anything of his customers.
When I expressed how disappointing it was to arrive to a place I’ve patronized for years and be approached that way he dismissed me and just charged my card an additional $20.
Not only has this place lost me and my mom as customers, but several others that I have shared this with. I do want to say that the nail techs are really good, the prices are out of control high, and the management often is rude.

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Owners are extremely rude. They don't explain their pricing at all and when you inquire about about how much they are charging you they are super short and get irritated . Loyalty means nothing to this business. Save yourself the trip!

I've been going here for 10 years and all of a sudden today they said they don't allow appointments with specific techs . What sense does that make? It's a beauty service. If I want a certain person that does my nails to my satisfaction I should be able to book them. They've been rude to me so many times but this is outta control now. I spend over $100 at my weekly visit and always bring friends with me because it's very clean.they spend money too. But I'll never be back now because if I can't get what I want for my hard earned money, they don't deserve my business

I’ve come here on and off for years but the prices of now increased to highway robbery! They add on charges for every little thing, including if you have naturally long nails! A basic gel fill-in is literally $80!! I never mind paying for good service, but the management is so rude nasty and some of the nail technicians literally snap in your face and twist and turn your hands around basically trying to hurt you or acting as if you’re an inconvenience to them. This will be my last visit definitely recommend finding a different place that doesn’t try to rob you and treat you like garbage!!

Didn’t know what a blue French tip was. Painted my entire nail white before adding the blue. Left crying and wiped off IMMEDIATELY.

Upon arrival I was told to wash my hands. (Even though I was only getting a pedicure) The tech said it was a practice they still follow as a precaution and that I should do it before picking a polish color. So for sanitation purposes, I followed directions.
They sat me next to my brother, which was nice. We were getting birthday pedicures! Both his and my service providers were really nice and gave really good massages.
We did upgrade to the 2nd tier (spa pedicure, which includes an extra 10min massage, paraffin and a mask) it was $50.
Though timed, I didn’t feel rushed. And my toes looked so cute in the end. I will definitely be back for a pedicure in the future.

I went there for manicure twice and every single time, they made my toes bleed when removing dead skin. They seem to rush through.
