Hoboken is generally highly recommended if you are staying in New York for a while. At Kings Food Markets you can find all the food you could ever want. Allergy sufferers can also find gluten-free and dairy-free products here.

The managers and staff are fine. It's the obvious and blatant PRICE gouging that is outrageous. King's was always a ridiculously high-priced convenience store for the highly paid yuppies that live within a couple blocks of that particular store. But ever since ACME took over, the prices are now ridiculous; they have risen way WAY above the prevalent inflation rate, even taking into account disruptions of supply chains. I am a well-paid tax attorney--and I try to avoid shopping there. Example: Hass avocados at Hoboken shoprite: 50 cents each (4 for 2 bucks). King's price for an avocado: $3.50 each or 2 for $7. The price of milk, Orange juice and fresh and frozen veggies is often 3 to 4 times more expensive than Shoprite or nearby Trader Joe's. Until consumers start boycotting King's (and Whole Foods) the corporate greed will continue to drive consumer prices at these grocery stores. Just make the extra effort to shop where the prices reflect the wholesale prices. Don't fall for the SCAM.

I hope Shipyard Kings will get rid of the machine check out. Then I hope they send their cashiers up to Trader Joe's to observe how much happier and nicer their employees are. They smile and say hi when you get to their stand. At King's they act like they are doing you a BIG favor to personally check you out. It used to be a good place, but now it's a downer (with high prices despite the app discounts that often don't apply at this little Kings). I feel sorry for their employees who look miserable. Kings HQ could do "secret shopper" and see and compare to TJ.

Very poor experience at the Hoboken location today. Waited at the deli counter for several minutes without being acknowledged by the three associates behind the counter. They saw me there and kept on chatting. I walked away after a while. I don’t mind paying premium prices at Kings, but I expect premium service. This store has so much more potential.

Kings market is a very small quaint food market located a block away from Hoboken waterfront! The store is very organized and clean. Prices remind me of Acme food Markets so im not sure if they affiliated. Location has free 20 minute parking in front but if u plan to be longer there is a parking lot down the street that validates when u purchase any item in the store.

Even though I live directly across from Whole Foods, i drive a few miles to Kings Food Market in Hoboken to do my grocery shopping. The brands available are high quality and well known. The variety is wonderful, with a great deli and fresh sushi. They are not pushing their own brands, and they are next to a wine store and a pharmacy. Parking is available. Last night I forgot my wallet at the checkout and rushed back later to see if by any chance someone had turned it in. The friendly manager, Gene, had kept it safely in his office for me, saying "I knew you'd be back." I gave him a big hug and hope he wasn't offended.

It is conveniently located but overall a bad grocery store that offers poor value to customers. Most things are expired or are soon to expired. You really need to check every label. But it is also very expensive. You are much better off going to Whole Food in Weehawken or Trader Joe’s in Hoboken both 15 minutes away walking.

Stopped by this market for the first time and don't ever plan on returning unless absolutely necessary. Way overpriced and other options are available. This explains why there were only four customers in the store while Trader Joe's was busy. If you go here expect to pay much more and feel like you got pickpocketed after you walk out.

I don't like to give dunning reviews to businesses in my neighborhood, but this Kings is appallingly bad. I moved here from UWS and the prices are higher than Zabars & Citarella, minus the high quality. $8.00 for a can of Cento tomatoes and ditto for a quart of 1/2 & 1/2?! I have bought at least 4 food items that were spoiled and had to be thrown away. Common items are often out of stock, like milk and carrots. It also appears that the staff not only hate their jobs, but the customers, too. Hoboken Kings is not like Kings stores in other parts of NJ, which are (in my experience) decent places to shop. I just waiting for Dumbo to open at 15th and Washington so I can break up with Kings forever.

Horribly overpriced. The only redeeming factor is that it is convenient if you live nearby

Maybe it's just bad luck, but every time I go there everything looks dirty and disorganized.

100% price increases due to 10-20% inflation?Everything in this store is $10. And they have nobody at checkout. This is luxury pricing with Walmart service. Whatever. Never again.
