I have been going to the Hoboken Animal Hospital since 1987. I obviously have been content with the service and the doctors. I thank all of them and all of the staff who have been more than helpful in dire and sad situations. I have been loyal to everyone and appreciate their respect of me and my cats.

Hoboken Animal Hospital has been caring for my pets for over 10 years. They are always kind and professional. The vets, vet techs and front desk staff are some of the nicest people around. We moved away from Hoboken and we come back to town for our vet care.

I have brought my cats to Hoboken Animal Hospital for years. Everyone is caring and kind to my pets. They receive quality service in a timely manner. The vets listen and provide a detail explanation of all test results. I had gone to other vets in Hoboken prior to going to Hoboken Animal Hospital. I found this place to be the best.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hoboken Animal Hospital and I can't say enough good things about the experience when I brought my feline Wolverine. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, which instantly put both me and my pet at ease.
The service was truly exceptional. The veterinarians took the time to listen to my concerns and thoroughly examined my Wolverine: They explained everything in detail, ensuring I understood the options available. It was clear that they genuinely care about the animals and their well-being.
The support staff was equally impressive. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure all my questions were answered. The clinic was clean and well-organized, which is always a plus when it comes to animal care.
Overall, I recommend Hoboken Animal Hospital to any pet owner looking for compassionate and professional care for their furry friends. Thank you for making a potentially stressful experience so positive!

I have seen 3 separate doctors there and they all took their time with my 10 year old Maltese Frankie and calmed me down and diagnosed and took incredible care of my baby. Dr. Sprauge this last visit went above and beyond and even drew out a picture of a dogs heart and how it works and why he was concerned with what was going on with Frankie's heart. Lisa at the front desk is also extremely kind and helpful. I never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen. A little pricey but worth it for quality care.

I would be remiss if I didn’t write this review. We were bringing our pup to HAH from when she was 8 weeks old until her very untimely passing at 1 1/2 years old.
Starting in mid February we brought our pup in after thinking she had a UTI. Tests were done and she showed a high liver enzyme in her bloodwork. She was put on meds and we were told to test her again in several weeks. We brought her back in several weeks later and the number was better but still not normal. We were told to stay the course with meds. We brought her in again several weeks later and the number creeped back up. This time we were told to get an ultrasound. We did and were told it was inconclusive and to stay on antibiotics for another 30 days. This was mid March at this point. We were told that based on her behavior (which was normal) it may still be an infection and to stay the course.
Long sad story short, our pup was fine one day (April 2nd) very lethargic the next (April 3rd) . She was rushed to VEG bc HAH was closed.
VEG ran many tests (including one for Leptospirosis) and told us our pup was having liver failure and was very very sick. Never giving up they suggested that perhaps Oradell animal hospital could help us. They arranged a pet ambulance (bc our poor pup needed an IV to survive the ride) and sent us to Oradell. Once there Oradell prepared a very aggressive treatment plan but warned us our puppy was very sick. They stated that they would start by treating her for Lepto since VEG records indicated the test showed a faint positive line on the test they did. I stated that she was being treated for an infection and they said those meds would not treat her for lepto. We were sent home from Oradell at 3:30 AM and told to get some rest. Unfortunately our poor little pup didn’t survive another 45 minutes and she passed just as we walked in the door.
Oradell suggested a necropsy but given all of the expenses we had incurred over the past few months chasing a treatment and the fact it would not bring our puppy back we decided to let her rest in peace.
After two days (being in total shock) I called HAH. I advised the nice woman behind the counter that our pup passed away. She asked what happened and I told her. She stated that she could now see as both VEG and Oradell sent all of there records over already. I asked if our pooch was ever tested for Lepto (given Hobokens exploding rat population). She checked with the dr and told me “no because the ultrasound didn’t show any evidence”. I’m not a dr and I cannot say that is possible or not. The ultrasound HAH did was inconclusive but the ultrasound VEG did was alarming as the liver looked “small”.
I know nothing would bring back my pup back but I did want to make note of the fact that VEG called to check on us, the animal transport service we used called to check on us, Oradell called multiple times to see how we were coping as family. (Both VEG and Oradell even sent condolence cards) All I got from HAH was a reminder that my pet was due for shots. Sometimes a little sympathy goes a long way. It’s hard not to feel as though perhaps we were just a number and a revenue stream for HAH. I know there are good caring people that work there but the lack of even a phone call has left a bad taste.
When choosing a vet for your pet choose one based on your own due diligence. Do your homework.
If something doesn’t seem right get a second opinion.
UPDATE : a week to reply to the review and still no phone call to discuss what your team got wrong is unacceptable. If perhaps your drs would have explored further, followed up with the official results of the ultrasound (which we were never advised of) perhaps our pup would have had a chance. Instead we spent thousands of dollars to get “inconclusive” scans and a “stay the course” treatment plan that did nothing to help her and led to her untimely passing. VEG and Oradell f
