I had a fantastic experience renting equipment from Area Rentals in Hillside, NJ. Steve, the staff member I worked with, was incredibly helpful and made the entire process smooth and easy.
Here's what stood out to me:
Great Pricing: The price for the equipment I rented was very reasonable and competitive.
Amazing Service: Steve was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and went the extra mile to ensure I had everything I needed.
Flexible Scheduling: They were willing to work with me on pick-up and return times, which was incredibly accommodating.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience at Area Rentals. They provided excellent service at a great price. I will definitely be using them again in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking to rent equipment in NJ

The owner and this company has very old equipment.SO BE AWARE THEIR RENTING VERY USED EQUIPMENT THAT BARILY WORKS.

Went to rent a single man lift JLG30AM Call and talked to Paul, he gave me daily and week pricing.Drove to their location for the pick up. (very small driveway had to park in the street) did the paperwork and then showed me the equipment. This pice was so damaged, missing a main guide wheel and the basket was bent so bad the Safty pins did not fit into holes.Had to be on a powered cord to operate the lift, the battery didn't hold a charge.My contact said I would drop off the lift one week later ( Friday after thanksgiving) Area Rental was closed that day, so I drop it off the next business day (Monday)The owner said I had the lift for 10 days and tried to charge me for extra time and when I tried to remind him about the contract he kept interrupting me.Also trying to use this lift was very difficult due the damaged and missing wheels, the wheels are designed to swivel and when the don't the lift because hard to move. The bad wheels damaged my wood floor.The owner refused to even look at his broken equipment using the excuse that he is not a mechanic this told me he didn't want to own he has a damaged pice of equipment.SO STAY AWAY FROM THIS Business

Everything is great until it’s time to return equipment. The return of calls is poor, the communication of pick and delivery is non existent. With there poor customer service practices I’m surprised they still get customers.

It was easy to rent a backhoe. Equipment was delivered and picked up on time. The equipment itself was substandard. The wipers and light were not working and the beep sound it makes on reverse was also being made on neutral. The m/c power was degraded and the tire pressure was low.

I find doing business with Area Rentals to be a wonderful experience. Their pricing is competitive and service fantastic!!! I would highly recommend anyone use them for their rental needs!

Called and spoke to paul several times over a two week period to rent or buy a snow pusher was told steve the owner would call me back, never called so i called again a fourth time and spoke to paul he said he would call me back with pricing i asked for steve the owner steve was busy said they would get back to me. WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. NO UNDERSTANDING OF CUSTOMER SERVICE OR FOR THAT MATTER A CLUE AS TO WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Worst service ever!! I was flexible enough to accommodate their request to to have the rental dropped off a day earlier than needed even after we had already agreed on a day. Then for pick up I have been sitting all day waiting for the pick ip. Only to call them and to be rudely told it will have to be tomorrow what do I want them to do. Said “they are not apologetic at all”. Meanwhile I am out of town tomorrow and arranged for work to be done at my house today which I cannot not do because the rental is still here in the way. They were absolutely rude about inconveniencing me. Also tried to call when a had a question about the machine and no call back. Nor did they call me to tell me they were no longer coming today. I only found out because I called. The worst customer service ever. My dad who passed away in 2020 worked in construction for 30 years and my brother 20. My brother agreed that this behavior is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. Stay away!

Paul & Tom from "Area Rentals" were very professional, attentive & responsive, I rented a "Skid Steer" in order to remove dirt from a property located in Newark, NJ and as promised they delivered it on time, And even after the "Skid Steer" was returned with a broken glass by mistake, They worked with me on the "Damage Cost Value" to be as flexible as possible.
