I brought my dog here about a month ago to be treated for GVD/bloat, where he received emergency surgery. He has since fully recovered and is doing wonderfully! A huge thank you to his surgeon, Dr. Klatzkow, and all the incredible staff whose names I unfortunately didn’t get for saving his life that night. They were also more than helpful with all of my follow-up questions. I’d like to especially shout out Finn, the receptionist, who was lovely company on one of the worst nights of my life!
Two words of advice for fellow owners: First, definitely call ahead if you’re in an emergency situation so that they can thoroughly prepare- it can save you precious time. Overnight staff is limited and if they’re already occupied with a true emergency, you will not be able to receive help. Always call! Second, emergency care is expensive and that is not your vet’s fault! Who ever heard of becoming a veterinarian for the money? ? Pet care is not subsidized by the govt. like human medical care, so prepare with an emergency fund and/or get pet insurance! We came in uninsured and paid about 8k, you bet I signed him up for pet insurance two days later!

I had an emergency visit with my dog Ruby this evening for the first time. All the staff was very friendly and professional. Dr. Heinzmann was very nice when she came out to speak with us. At the time there was no wait so they took her back right away. The price was reasonable not overly expensive. I would highly recommend them for emergency visits!

The following happened a while ago and it's taken me a bit to be able to post this, but I feel it's my duty to let people know about my harrowing experience here. This clinic is not the same level of service and care that you are accustomed to receiving at the main hospital in Tinton Falls. I brought my dog here on emergency, around 11pm at night, for an ear infection that was causing him distress. I should have questioned why the main hospital had a long wait and this location didn't have a wait, but now I know. From the uncaring tech more focused on getting a weight on my dog than keeping him as calm as possible, to the inexperienced intern VMD staffing the hospital, the visit could not have gone worse. Being an English Bulldog and very prone to respiratory distress, the majority of veterinary professionals know not to push an EB past their limits. The duo on staff that night pushed my boy so far beyond his limits, I thought he was going to die. What I thought was a broken vacuum was actually my poor dog gasping for air. I was returned a dog that could not breathe, eyes glazed over, blue tongue and told "this is normal for a Bulldog". When the vet came out, instead of addressing my dying dog on the waiting room floor, she proceeded to ask (for the 5th time) when I noticed the ear getting infected. Seriously??? We packed up my dog and took him home, where it took us HOURS to get his breathing back to normal. This is not the only horror story I have heard coming out of this hospital, but it is the one that happened directly to me and my dog. Avoid this place at all costs, they do not deserve the RBVH tag. Make the trip to Tinton Falls or try Animerge down the street but enter at your own risk!!!!!

The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Kazdin and the vet tech were very sweet to my dog and explained the echocardiogram thoroughly. It was a 2 hour trip for us each way and well worth the drive.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the recent experience my pet, Caramel, had during his visit to Red Bank. We had gone there with the hope of getting essential tests done and proper direction to treat his consumption of grapes , but instead, Caramel endured a highly distressing experience that has left him traumatized. I was told that they had muzzled him to draw to blood and that elevated his anxiety .
It was clear that Caramel was in a severely traumatized state, and it is heart-wrenching to witness him in such a condition. As a result of this experience, it will take months to restore his emotional well-being. This level of distress is something no pet or owner should have to go through, and it is incredibly disheartening.
I hope steps are taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future, ensuring that animals are treated with the utmost care and empathy in situations like this.

They did an amazing job here. I got to the center in the middle of the day Sunday and they immediately helped me out. I highly recommend going here if you need an urgent checkup for your pet

Dr Turner is the most caring veterinarian I have ever met. She has taken care of all my dogs thru the years. The staff are easy going and the front is well run. I would definitely recommend Red Bank Vet in Hillsborough to anyone in need of good care for their dog.

Dr. Turner is always so good and patient with my dog Duke! She takes her time with him to make sure he’s comfortable and I never feel like she’s rushing on to the next patient, she truly gives us the space to ask questions and make sure we’re well informed. Great experiences with Dr Turner!

The best there is in veterinary medicine. I spent years switching around trying to find someone that loved my dog as I do. They are knowledgeable and caring. My dog has gone through 2 ACL surgeries and a surgery on an infected paw. As well he now has all of his joints falling away with arithitis. I looked at several places because I loved him so much and I wanted to make sure he would get the best care. I love all those people that have worked with him.

This is the only place my dog goes for Vet services. The doctors and staff are extremely caring and thoughtful. Very smart and knowledgeable about everything you need for your pets health.

We have been relying on Red Bank Veterinary Animal Hospital for emergencies over the past 5 years. Their Veterinarians and staff have always been deeply engaged and personally involved with my high energy Golden Retriever and his well being. Yet they as well as the staff remain professional and proficient are by knowledgeable We highly recommend RBVH.

Dr. Nussbaum was fantastic. She took the time to talk through everything that Hank needed, and told us exactly what to expect from his surgery and recovery. RBVH has an amazing staff who go out of their way to help you. They've seen us through several health crises and sadly, through one goodbye. We are always treated with respect and understanding of what we're going through as a loving (and worried) pet owner.

They turned us away. My senior cat was having some issues late on a Friday night, and was in pain, so I called them, and they told me they were too busy to see him. So apparently, 24/7 emergency care is defined differently there.
EDIT: you didn't help me find other care. You recommended another emergency vet who also turned us away, and also recommended one way upstate. His regular vet saw him first thing in the morning. No one wanted to help him when it actually happened, though.

Had to take our Dog there on Saturday and the Doctor and staff were both friendly, calming and did everything they could to help our doggie. Will definitely be returning.
