“I don’t live in Essex Fells but I make sure to use their post office because the women who work there are patient, kind, polite, and professional. You’d never know if they were having a bad day because they welcome you with a warm hello and a smile. You ask a question and they don’t roll their eyes or make you feel like an idiot, unlike the people who work the counter at Caldwell and West Caldwell post offices. Recently I had the misfortune of having to go to the Caldwell post office. I was quickly reminded why I avoid that location. Keep up the good work EF!”
“I didn't know it was possible for a post office ever to earn a 5 star rating. I have traditionally dreaded going to the post office until I moved to Haskell. They are friendly and actually enjoy what they do. Joe is the best and brightens up my day every time I see him. Its rare to find someone who shows that much joy in life. Keep up the great work.”
“I had very positive experiences. Scott and the woman at the counter were great. Very knowledgeable and efficient. We came for the passport appointment as a family of 3. We were 10 mins late as I had realized I needed to take copies of the documents. Scott was super accommodating and was so fast that it took about 30 mins to have all new passports done (ton of papers to attach and put in order!!!). I rare leave reviews but Scott definitely deserves some recognition!!! Copies of the documents were taken at USPS. I have successfully received my passport.”
“Hard to believe I’m saying this about a government office, but this is by far the best post office in the area. The clerks are friendly, polite and helpful. Good hours and ample parking. Keep up the good work!Usually the government is completely inept and incompetent at everything it touches. But this place manages to be different.”
“All of the staff there are absolutely the best. Specially NOELL ! They're all very kind and helpful and I've never had any problems, no matter how busy they are. Noell is extraordinary though. She always apologizes for the wait, even if there are only a few in line. She is thorough, friendly, helpful, kind and so sincere. She seems to LOVE helping people. “I drop off mail to this location every day. Ali & Margie are courteous, helpful and friendly.the outside of the facility is embarrassing for the USPS, garbage, overgrown weeds, containers of rotten food left by the dregs of society on the stairs for 2 sometimes 3 weeks. does this facility not have a maintenance crew?”

“I love this little post office. The lady there is Very helpful. A lot of these post offices, they don’t help you and they don’t tell you anything. She let me know that flat rate is the cheapest way to go! She helped me save almost 10 dollars mailing my package to my nephew!”

Not sure what the negative reviews were expecting but they get the job done better then most location IMO. If you expect straight forward effective service from a post office, this location is head and shoulders above most.”

They are incredibly patient and always provide exceptional service, no matter how busy it gets. “Lobby Hours (6am-6pm) i went today 08/05/24 to pick my mail from one of the boxes at 7:34am and main door was closed. We have 2 business boxes and this is the time i always go pick all our mail. Ohh let me mention that this is the 3rd time is happening.
I dont usually go inside (counters) unless we have a package to mail and their staff are very good.”

“I honestly believe that you get the energy you give. I've heard the "horror stories" about the Hawthorne Post Office and I have avoided it for the almost 2 years I've lived in town. Today, I didn't have time to go elsewhere. I took a deep breath and went inside with my package. I was the only customer there. The woman at the counter was extremely friendly. By the end of the transaction she asked "your first time here?" I said yes. She said "I can tell because you are so smiley. Have a great weekend!" And she was smiling back at me through her mask. I hope people can put past experiences behind them and give these postal workers a chance to surprise you. They're doing their best with what they're given.”
