IT'S ALL ABOUT THE $$$$$
$1100.00 for a yearly examination and yearly shots!!! Crazy... My neighbors warned me about this Whippany Veterinarian. They all told me not to go there, but I did anyway. Now I am sick to my stomach. They sweet talk you into services that are not nessasary..."your dog needs this, your dog needs that!" Get second opinions from other Vets.

I’m incredibly grateful for the kindness and care the staff and doctors have shown to my cat, Leila. They went above and beyond to ensure she was as comfortable and pain free as possible throughout her visit. They were prompt in following up with test results and showed such compassion every step of the way

Whippany Vet. DO NOT GO!! specifically to Dr. Cheri Smith, who is unfortunately the owner.I had a pug for 17 years who she treated throughout his life. They overmedicated him and he died about two hours after I gave him their medication. I tried to meet with her after and she refused to meet with me. No compassion whatsoever after I already had brought my dog there to be cremated. Her staff kept telling me she was out of the country which I highly doubt because they told me on several occasions for the last few years. It's more just a warning that they're not too invested in their patients. I think it's a true testament of how they really are and especially because they did treat my dog and know him personally for the time that he was alive. They are the only vet that my whole family used to use and now they are the only vet that we will not use and I like to use any platform that I can to warn people she doesn't really care about the pets. I learned that the hard way. They literally killed my dog. My baby?

I was with WV for several years but finally had to find another vet. While there I experienced two med errors, a lack of proper diagnosis at times and poor availability of appts when needed urgently.

I have three dogs and a cat that are seen by the staff and doctors of Whippany Veterinary Hospital. I couldn't be happier. Everyone in the office is helpful and knowledgeable, and the doctors have always been so lovely to my animals.

I made an appointment for one of my dogs because of extreme weight loss and change in behavior in a three week period. I took my other dog because they are impossible to separate. I only asked that they give my other dog two vaccine updates. The Vet came in and before they even examined my dog diagnosed him with anxiety without even laying a hand on him. They then proceeded to examine my other dog which I only asked for shots. They recommended several test for the dog I did not make appointment for and I said give me an estimate before you do anything. They proceeded to leave me in exam room for over 45 minutes. They never gave me an estimate, took my dog that I asked for an estimate for and performed tests I never consented to. They then presented me with a bill for 1700, including charging me for medication I already had and medication they never gave me.
This place is a total scam and I hope no one gets ripped off by them the way I was. If you go check every line of your bill and ask questions. They are expert scammers! They deserve negative stars and I am filing a complaint with the BBB.

Beyond grateful for the care and quality of life that Dr. Cordero and the team provided for my babies over the years. So much so, that I drove from Bethlehem PA for their appointments. My Shepard, lab, malinois mix is now 14 and just too old to make the trip anymore. My only complaint is that they couldn't be closer! They listened when no one else would. My cat was very ill, not eating, and dropping weight fast. Another veterinarian diagnosed her as diabetic based on sugar levels despite my insistance that there was something more going on as I've had diabetic cats in the past. Dr. Cordero really LISTENED to what I was saying, and was able to make the proper diagnosis of hyperthyroidism and that my cat was experiencing a "thyroid storm". That's when I made the switch for all my animals. She literally gave my cat nearly 5 more years of quality life. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I’ve used Whippany Veterinary for many years for my last 2 dogs. The vets are easy to talk to, they are knowledgeable about every breed of dog and when necessary, they can refer you to a specialist. The vet techs are great, they take time to get to know the animals before they start the work up, they are kind and caring! The front desk staff is great, they even submit my bill to my pet insurance company!

Dr. Derfuss is the BEST! So happy she is part of this hospital now. We traveled almost an hour one way for her care for our dog Cooper who has an injured knee. All four of our dogs are under her care and we can’t say how very much we appreciate her knowledge and love for animals!!The support staff, and front desk staff are great as well. Thank you all so very much!
