My favorite gym. Been here for over a year now and the staff is wonderful. Members are like family and the community is tightly-knit, and it’s rarely, if ever, crowded. Always very tidy and the environment is respectful and well conditioned to help you grow as a strength athlete. The fact that it’s not a commercial gym is the best quality. Real plates too, not the cheap rubber stuff.

Spacious, well curated equipment, no shortage of anything, good sized locker rooms, everyone minds their business and gets their workout done, but still friendly and will gladly offer a spot. Month to month membership is great with no added yearly fees or anything. I came from Iron Culture and think it was the right decision.

Imagine a gym where weights are always put back perfectly, trainers will provide lifting advice and spots any time you need, and the owner is a National powerlifting champ. Wow… Whippany Athletic Club beats all the gyms in the area.I love the powerlifting specific equipment, especially the competition racks. Best part is, I almost never wait for equipment, even when I work out at 5pm.

Great equipment, spacious, and friendly people. However, my critique is that an older staff member and certain gym goers are creeps! Female members have complained regarding this in the past, but this falls into deaf ears of the gym owner (who is older). I wanted to shed light to this issue because it is not acceptable! Listen to your members if you want to sustain a successful business.

recently went to this gym and will not be returning. Dirty and dusty weight area, locker room is gross and showers are disgusting!! Theres an astroturf or something in the shower stalls that look like they haven’t been cleaned or replaced in years…looks like it’s filled with mold. Everything looks old and falling apart save your money…adding an edit showing photos since the staff can’t be bothered to look in their own locker room

Best gym in the area, had to pause my membership because of sports but while I was there: staff is friendly, ownership is always available with any help you might need, and its always clean. Equipment is nice and very well maintained. Very good gym if your working to get stronger. Awesome community of lifters who are all have a common goal of bettering themselves.

Great place. Great owners. Everything you’d need. And then some. Would recommend 100x over. So glad I found this gym.

I was told I couldn’t use soap in the showerEdit 1: I do apologize for not using my real name but I do not feel comfortable after the harassment I suffered from an old gentleman with a mustache while in the bathroom. I do hope this help you under stand why I chose not to use a real name.

Whippany is a solid club, even through COVID. It's a pretty solid three-way blend of Powerlifting/Boxing/Commercial gyms. - You can use chalk as long as you're neat - There is a ring for sparring under trainer supervision, no sparring without that - There are common powerlifting amenities - four to five squat racks, three flat bench setups with even more if you're willing to move equipment around - DEADLIFT JACK - Cardio section, solid commercial machine setup Staff is very nice. Kathie, the owner, will always make it a point to introduce herself to you. Ray is always training a client when he's there but is very considerate of other people. Mike will coach anyone on form who asks for it. Very spotter-friendly place if you ask for help! The only thing I wish is that there were one or two Olympic platforms, but if you look at the space, they really have it maximized about as well as they can. For the price point, you really can't beat it. I drive 15 mins each way three days a week.

The personal trainers are great. You can box or do independent training and it is a Power Lifting gym too.

What a fantastic, no-frills little gym. I stayed in Florham Park for work and was looking for a place to lift. 24 Hour fitness wanted $25/day ... screw that. I called Whippany Athletic Club and was happy to hear that their day rate is a flat $10 (tax included!). The owner was working the front desk when I visited, and she was very friendly and helpful. The gym has a great raw feel to it--this is a place to come, get your work done, be focused, and then leave. I'll definitely be coming here when I visit in the future. The exterior looks like an office building, so it can be easy to miss.
