Thought I bought the big one this time with my 2013 Toyota tacoma transmission at 187,000 miles. Rumbling bad , reverse jammed up, had to have it towed. trans shops near the shore were booked so took a chance with goodeal in hammonton. Best decision ever! They got on it after the weekend, fixed the problem , runs smooth as silk. Ken called apologizing when telling me I really did not need to replace it and surprised me with an entirely reasonable repair expense. This is a family operation and is a pleasure to make everyone's acquaintance in the shop.
Thanks Ken for the great service. I support small local business and will be happy to see them again for whatever I need.

Honest, hard-working, family business I cannot say enough good things about our experience. The owner and staff have been there forever and really know their stuff!!! Prices are very fair and turnaround time was great! Open friendly communication I knew exactly what was wrong and how they were going to fix it. I cannot recommend them enough.

The guy that owns the place is nice but they are committing highway robbery with the prices they were trying to give us!
90$ just to hook up the car to a computer… no way! Then another $160 to diagnose it. Then! Trying to use just salvaged parts and trying to charge almost full price for them. Not happening! They wanted to charge us $3200! We took it home! I wouldn’t go here they seem crooked!

This is THE shop to bring your car to in the area. Kenny the owner is a great dude. Very up front and honest about everything, and a great team backing him. The only place I'll bring my car to have major service done, and they do not disappoint (both on price and quality of work). Even followed up to see how my car was running after a major service (it's running like it's new).

Above and beyond service by Kenny & Co.! Kenny gives the customer a full, detailed explanation of the necessary work, as well as the 'how' and the 'why' of things in easy to understand language. I needed my transmission replaced. Kenny did the leg-work in locating a trans for me, then had the job expedited to limit the amount of down-time I would be without my car. I was referred to Good deal transmission by another shop and glad I called them. Kenny and Dana are very friendly and felt like I was dealing with long time friends. Very honest and straight forward , let me know what was wrong and what options I had , no pressure one way or the other. Brought in my car for multiple dashboard lights. They charged me $90 to run diagnostics and said my transmission needed to be replaced for $7500. The owner who called me with the quote never even looked at the car as he was in Florida at the time. I picked up my car and I took it to the dealership. The shop owner even tried to buy the car from me. The issue wasn’t the transmission, it was something $5500 less expensive.At least Dana (front desk manager) was very nice and professional.Update: I assume Ken misread my original review. My review was 100% accurate. The transmission did not need to be replaced! Dealer replaced the transmission valve body. Ken wanted to charge me to replace my whole transmission that was perfectly fine!

I was told the most it would cost to repair my transmission would be $3500 thats if a total rebuild. Charged me $3195 for the rebuild and then $325 for the torque converter and $139.95 for trans fluid. Online a rebuilt or remanufactured unit included the torque converter and trans fluid for $2200 -$2300. They did replace a u-joint on the rear drive shaft for $108.95. Total bill was $4048.45. Warranty is a joke, 1 year 12,000 miles, online units had 3 year unlimited miles and 1 had a 5 year 100000 mile warranty. Beware of this shop, do your homework. I took my Chevy Silverado truck to Kenny at Goodeal Discount Transmissions in Hammonton and he gave me the correct advice on how to fix the problem which saved me money. He is an honest man who analyzed the situation and came up with the best plan, and did an excellent job of replacing my drive shaft and checked out my other concerns with the truck for me, and he never tried to tell me the truck needed work which was not needed. If you are looking for an honest mechanic to take your vehicles to, this is definitely the place to take your vehicles! Kenny, Dana, and his entire staff were helpful, pleasant and answered all of my questions and concerns, they were a pleasure to deal with. I really can’t praise and thank them enough. It’s such a relief to know that I now have a mechanic that I can trust. I will always take all of my vehicles to Goodeal Discount Transmissions, even though Hammonton is out of my area, it is worth it for the peace of mind of knowing that my truck was fixed, at a reasonable price and in an honest and correct way. Kenny’s good reputation is well deserved! I highly recommend him to other customers.
