July 2023 by Jessica D'Amato
I just attended my brothers wedding July 8th 2023 as a bridesmaid. The event coordinator was absolutely terrible. She gave no guidance to the groom, members of the wedding, and guest. Myself, the groom, and the best man had to constantly ask what to do and we only got short answers like “don’t worry, just relax.” The event coordinator told us the DJ knows what to do and when we asked the DJ, he said he didn’t know either. We rented the smaller portion of the building and there was black tarps dividing the space. There was a lot of things the event coordinator was suppose to do and she completely failed to do so. The minister didn’t direction the guest to sit after the bride walked down the isle so all the guest stood during the entire ceremony. She also pulled the bride, groom, and the witness aside during the celebration to sign papers. Highly would not recommend their services.

Would not recommend this place, the building has potential but not with the people running it. Staff turns off A/C right before party starts, blames party attendees for messing with settings. The bathrooms both mens and women room are very tight, stalls don’t lock, they are next to the room for food so you get the nice overflowing smell while you are grabbing your food. The management and staff of the building are very rude snotty people, you can tell they are in it for the money and not about the customers experience. Dj would lose power and kept saying he was using too much power, you can’t blame a DJ who hooks up a few speakers, LED lights and the rest of his equipment to “randomly” trip breakers (very inconsistent on how it would trip) would say that is an electrical issue with the building. Overall there are many places around the area you can get a better price, from these ladies price gauging people, and I’m sure more well maintained and not so overgrown with weeds and water stains throughout the building.

The building is pretty run down, has potential to be a decent venue for parties just not with the management that is never wrong. The manager or lady running the building currently gets mad at the customer for things that are wrong with the building. If you are only renting the place and not using any of their extra services they get butt hurt and sit in the corner of your party and watch everything going on, will walk through and watch at door openings like they are part of the party. The bathrooms are too small, you can't open the doors to the bathroom without moving the person washing their hands at the first sink, doors do not lock to stalls. The place overall needs better management, the place is a decent size but without opening that back extra party room they have you can't fit more than 200 safely. If they tell you otherwise they are lying. Find a better, less stressful place for a venue/party these people won't last long here. Only in it for the $$

I am absolutely DISGUSTED by this place. They have closed down and are not giving people their deposits back. I understand time are tough right now but you can’t STEAL our money. My mom and I have reached out to them numerous times with almost no response. We are not giving up on getting our deposit back.

We gave the owner a 2,000 deposit for a party and we’ve been trying to get the deposit back since the beginning of the pandemic. No reply or answer from the owner and I’m left wondering how to get my deposit back..

I'm only giving one star in order to be able to post this review. Don't do business with The Rose Garden. On August 2020 we had an event and the banquet manager at the time did not come through with what was agreed upon on the contract. She did not respond to calls (most of the time the voicemail was full and I couldn't leave a message either) or emails in a timely manner. Our event was done in their parking lot (unkempt and dirty) and they only provided two small tents for 60 people (def not in compliance with the Governor's social distance order). No toilet paper or paper towels were provided, no cups at the bar for drinks and they ran out of ice half way through the event. I had to provide three additional tents, ice, cups and our own bar tender (breech of contract).

NOT EVEN A ONE IS GOOD ENOUGH :( My wife and I paid in full for our reception before the pandemic and once the pandemic hit we could not have or reception because of the social distancing ordinance in the State. We tried numerous times to contact the manager to discus our refund however we have yet to speak to anyone we received one email stating we would get a full refund in 60 days and we haven't heard anything else. When we call the phone goes to a voicemail which is full and we cant leave any messages. I email them everyday (and will continue) but no answer. In first meeting management was very hospitable and then with money in hand its seems like they ran for the hills. I have not only discussed but very hurt by the lack of communication. This is a black owned business which I am very supportive of however right now I am not very supportive. Black marriages matter too. I guess it a joke to the management team running this venue because than don't care that we couldn't spend $21,000 dollars to rent the space they just took our $1,700 and said the h---- with us. I would advise anyone looking to spend that special spectacular wonderful wedding day don't place no monies in their hands until you are 100% sure of what you going in to. You as a groom will be angered as you watch the tears fall from you brides eyes. Believe me I know -

DONT DO IT!!! I placed my deposit for my wedding reception. About 3 weeks later I returned to finalize my contract and realized the venue had been sold out and under new management. Prices had changed and I didn't want to lose my deposit money, HUGE MISTAKE! I attempted to work with them, calling & emailing them to keep things orderly with unsuccessful responses. I live about 1.5hr away so stopping in was impossible. A couple times I sent my mother in law and fiancé in, just to ask them to respond to me.My event planner attempted to contact them to view the venue unsuccessfully, finally once she was able to get through after 4 days, the venue owner had an attitude. At the venue she was told that she needed to pick her things upon a timely fashion she would throw it in the trash, (thrown chairs, sequenced linens etc.)I was told I had a brides room and when I arrived with 3 other people she told me she didn't realize I was going to get ready there. The event planner and her were clashing all day, the DJ arrived and had issues with the owner as well. our food was 30 minutes late and being served cold. The customer service there is terrible and the staff eats the food, pastries, etc.I am truly not one to write reviews but my day was completely disrespected, my event was supposed to end at 9pm and my guest started to leave between 730 and 8pm, my event planner started breaking down early, fearing the threat the doors would be locked at 9pm as she stated. In conclusion, the space is decent, the customer service is terrible, its obvious they don't pride in their establishment

Had my daughter's sweet 16 there, it's like the best kept secret. Nice and affordable! Food was pretty good although I brought most of my meal.

I Absolutely love this place! I went to a friend's wedding here and had an awesome time. I wish we would have had more time at the end, we only got 5 hours, but overall the food was great and the service were great.

My sister’s wedding was held at The Rose Garden and everything was amazing and perfect. The venue is beautiful and unique because it is the only venue I know that lets you bring your own food and it’s BYOB, that’s Awesome! The staff and employees were very helpful and professional. I would recommend The Rose Garden to anyone. Thank you Djenane and Hector for all your help and for a wonderful wedding.

The venue itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, the owner and staff were just terrible. This is the first wedding I've attended where the owner is just walking around with a bitter face, participating in the event. She was there serving the food with a terrible look on her face as well as the staff. They were so unwelcoming, that the bridal party was out well before the end of the rental time. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere where they actually appreciate your business.
