I am beyond disappointed at my experience at this shoprite today. I have been coming to this shoprite with my family for over 20 years at this point because it was so lovely and employees were helpful and kind. I walked into this shoprite today, and this woman approached me with a sign “I am homeless, I don’t speak English, I have three kids, please help me.” I dug through my pockets and did not have cash and so I apologized to her. She then requested that I buy her a gift card, I agreed. We begin walking to the front of the store to customer service. I ask the employee for a shoprite gift card, the woman steps in and asks for a visa gift card. I thought this was strange but didn’t think much of it. The employee tells us to go to another aisle for a gift card. We begin walking and the general manager stops us and says “NO SOLICITING YOU CANNOT ASK PEOPLE FOR MONEY YOU MUST LEAVE” I was very confused and said “oh? Is this a recurring issue?” The manager then explains that this woman is a scammer and has been coming to the store for several days asking people for visa gift cards. He apologized to me for assuming that I was with her and also trying to solicit people. For reference, the woman appeared Hispanic in nature and although I am not Hispanic, I also have tanner skin and dark features. I thanked him for warning me about the soliciting and continued to shop for my groceries. I began noticing that another female manager was following me around the store huffing and puffing. I began to feel uncomfortable and walked over to self checkout where surprise surprise there she was. She began by yelling “MAAM MAAM UH UH, YOU HAVE WAY MORE THAN 20 ITEMS YOU MUST GO TO ANOTHER CHECKOUT LINE THIS HAS BEEN A HUGE ISSUE.” I was frightened by her tone and demeanor. I replied “okay, no worries, I always come to self checkout this has never been an issue before but I will go to another line.” I walk over to a normal checkout line opposite of where the self checkout is. SHE FOLLOWS ME with another manager as the employee scans my items. I finish scanning all items and walk over to her asking to speak to her. I explain that I did not appreciate the way she spoke to me. She cut me off mid sentence and continued to say she did nothing wrong. I continued to explain that I did not appreciate the previous encounter where I was racially profiled as a scammer. She cut me off again and said “this has nothing to do with that, I am done with this conversation.” I then told her that I was not done and the other manager stepped in and said “we are done. You should leave.” I told them to have a nice day and I left.
Since I was unable to resolve this issue with the very uncooperative management, I will reach out to corporate in hopes of fixing this.
Do what you will with this information, but as a person who just wanted to buy groceries, this put a real damper on my day.

I like to start by apologizing to the store, the clerk and the customer service manager, I was not aware of the web or Internet service problems globally. I was wrong I went back and retrace my steps and found my tickets. I retract my statement previously and look forward to my next visit when in the area. Thank you!

You guys need to restock on your two most healthiest cold pressed juices. It’s been a month now. both part of my weekly groceries and how do I get my serving of vegetables. It’s the green juice and the root mix that has carrot ginger turmeric. Once you guys restock, and both of these juices, I’ll happily change my rating. Thanks

Very Good! I had a lot of help setting up my friend's phone for the ShopRite app, which was already on there to register, so she could put digital coupons on there and got help loading them also so neither one of us had too. Thank you so very much we had the help of 4 people including getting getting a ride on cart for her that worked ( charged). And also had help bagging groceries . Thank You very much!❤️

Deli counter management does not fill online orders correctly. I ordered a specific brand of lunch meat online and picked it up in the store. Although the bag was labeled with the brand I ordered, it was definitely NOT the correct brand (I could tell by the taste and smell). In-store staff confirmed that management told them to substitute another brand so as to avoid opening a new package of the brand I ordered. (In-store staff also agreed that the substitute brand was disgusting.)
Slicing instructions are also ignored. I specifically wrote "thin, not shaved" in the instructions (and selected "thin" in the order, but the meats were shaved anyway.

Not enough cashiers . Self checkout is 20 items now so you are stuck waiting forever to check out at the 1 maybe 2 registers open

Produce has to be picked through to get anything of quality, prices are high and staff is extremely rude. The girl at self check out yelled at me because I was over the 20 item limit (I thought I was good when I started and had 28 items). Then she and another staff member just stood over me. Had me so flustered I forgot my potatoes and had to scan them as she went through my items. Won’t be returning and would rather go to the ShopRite down the road or spend my money at Acme

7 people behind the deli counter and only 2 attending customers. It takes 25 minutes to work through 2 customers. Why not have more deli workers attend customers during peak hours?
