Amazing vet! We took our cat, Keanu, to Deerwood for his routine checkup + dental checkup + routine shots and it was a really good experience! The lady over the phone was courteous and helpful when scheduling the appointment. And when we got to the vet, the nurses and Dr. Patel were kind, welcoming, and just as importantly, experienced and efficient!

Amazing team took very good care of our cat and explained what we can do to improve his health. We were in and out quickly (which is great with a nervous animal) and the fee was reasonable and not excessive. Very thankful to have this as our neighborhood vet !

I took my eight-year-old cat to this vet to determine what was happening with her. She was hungry, thirsty, urinating frequently. It was determined that she may have diabetes. This was confirmed after some labs were drawn. My cat was diagnosed in March of this year, and I had to put my beloved cat down this month. Dr. Patel has a deplorable bedside manner and doesn't explain anything. He will do a procedure without telling you why he is doing it. I'm unsure if this is because of a language barrier or if he thinks we are all too stupid to understand. My cat wasn't doing well. She stopped eating and barely wanted to move. So, I took her to Dr. Patel. He got a set of vital, gave her fluids, which ended up in her peripheral spaces because they damn near tried to bolus her. He expressed her bladder but didn't explain why he did this. He x-rayed her and found her bladder was full, but he could have felt that it was full. Nothing he did had a rhyme or reason. He gave her antibiotics and told me she should improve in an hour or two. Well, that never happened. I'm waiting for a phone call because labs were drawn, and I had to contact them several times. Then, I received a text asking me to come in. I lost it. Why would I need to come in? Dr. Patel called even before he reviewed the labs. He reviewed them while he was on the phone with me. He said she could have this or that, or it could be DKA. Long story short, the guy didn't know. He didn't care, and I'm sorry I wasted my time with this so-called vet. His main concern was getting your money, not the animals he was supposed to care for. If you have a pet that has a chronic disease, do not take your pet to this vet. He lacks the compassion that a pet lover should have and the knowledge expected from a licensed vet.

Although his wife is very nice when working the front desk, Dr. Patel is extremely rude and unprofessional. Came here for an emergency when our normal vet was closed and boy did we learn our lesson. He gave me incorrect advice (wrong diagnosis) then never followed up with me again. When I came back, on my own, to try pick up meds for my dog, he said “we do not have” and hung up the phone. I went inside with my wife and explained what happened to him. He got close to my wife and I and yelled “I am the doctor. This is my license. Do not say anything. I said we cannot give!” My wife recorded the entire thing because we were in total shock. We think maybe he discriminated against us based on our ethnicity. But we told him his customer service was horrible and we’d never be coming back. I love my dog too much to ever bring him to this guy again. Worst “hospital” in the area. Don’t go.

I've been taking Skynyrd the Rotti to Deerwood since birth 4 years ago. They've always done right by Skynyrd.
I've tried cutting corners on price elsewhere and have had no luck. I can now honestly say this is the place to go if you want thorough care for your money and love for animals.
My boy is rather big and intimidating. They always need my help with him, but that's understandable, lol. I'd rather be present for his treatments anyway.
Oddly enough, Skynyrd always seems to enjoy his arrival there regardless. Let's face it, nobody likes getting a shot in the butt.

I have been coming here with 3 pet rescues, NEVER AGAIN. Originally I thought it was just this one rude staff member but when I asked Dr. Patel what can be done to prevent these issues from happening again, he ignored all of my concerns, said a bunch of irrelevant things, and wouldn’t answer the question. I thought maybe because English is not his first language (not mine either) to which he took great offense and started screaming and cursing at me! Not sure if google will allow me to give examples. I’m a minority myself of the same demographic as him, wonder if he got me confused with his own children, but sir this is America! People do not put up with verbal abuse just because you’re older or an “expert” as he claimed, which again had no relevance to the conversation at hand. Severely lacking comprehension skills and emotional regulation skills. Happy to take my business elsewhere! For those interested in my prior bad experiences that led up to this crazy moment, read the rest.
1. My dog was prescribed wrong type of antibiotics for his uti, no refund issued, was told to hang onto it “just in case,” never ended up using it. Greedy and unprofessional but I still came here out of love for my animals.
2. Completely ignored waiting outside 30 mins in the heat with our anxious cat who cannot be in the same room as other animals. Girl with black hair at front desk was notified before stepping out, which can be seen in camera footage, but she lied saying that she wasn’t informed. She also took care of other people who had walked in afterwards. Instead of admitting that she forgot and will try to check in next time, she put on a very patronizing customer service voice to avoid responsibility for her own mistakes.
3. I asked about a text notification. Same girl as mentioned before told me to disregard because it was a “system error.” Only to later find out that it was an important appointment for my other cat’s second vaccine dosage! Again zero accountability. Avoid!
