A few weeks ago we gave Bruce $1,000 deposit to start work on our house which included touch ups, sanding, priming and painting almost our entire house post renovation. He came for 3 days as we agreed to do part of the sanding and priming on the main level, but only worked 3 hours a day at the slowest pace I've ever seen. The sanding was not finished but he said he will return to finish the job after our molding is done. We rushed the floor and molding guy to finish and Bruce said he will be back on Dec 11 but he disappeared. I called, texted and sent him tons of messages for 2 weeks— silence. I started writing reviews online and suddenly heard back. As it turns out he simply decided he didn't want to continue the job, he felt like the deposit covered the work he did and so he ghosted me (which I guess might be standard practice for him). We don't feel the partial work he did was worth $1,000 but he said he will not be returning any money. He gave absolutely no reason as to why he is not finishing the job. I can only assume he decided to take on other jobs and since we gave him some money he has no incentive to return. Now I am weeks behind schedule looking for someone else to finish the job that will cost me more because we are in a rush. This is a terrible situation for us as we are living in this construction with small children and hiring him was a mistake.

This guy did a nice job for us in a couple rooms. Then we asked him to come back for one more room. He gave an estimate that we accepted and we set a date. Then he never showed up and we got ghosted. His phone always goes right to voicemail so he can screen calls. This is bad sign. When I called from a number he didn't know, he txted right back but then cut off that number as well. I assume he could pull the same crap with anyone at any point in a job. We did find a new painter who is much more professional and friendly and we are very happy to have moved on from AE2P. Very unprofessional.

Here is Bruce's response: "I didn't do you job no money was taken for your job once someone thought i was trying to scam. Or charge more is when i cut the up the estimate glad u found someone else but talking crap like i did something wrong is a big no no buddy let's not start to bash anyone it's not a good look for anyone and u should repost it like ae2p happily moved on from you."
