I think this is the right shop lol. I came here years ago for my junior prom when I was 16 in 2020. 4 years later I still can’t get this woman out of my head. The way I was so insecure with my body and she made me feel amazing. I had a red gown and she custom fitted it to me and added custom alterations. She made me feel so beautiful. She made a round neck into a v neck and added a ruched bum to the dress. She’s so talented. It was so short notice too and my mom and I were turned away from every shop during a stressful time because of such short notice and my mom and I were so stressed dealing with my grandmother just passing away. The kindness and compassion I assume was from Michele has lasted years and years on my mind. I always think about how amazing she made me feel. It was genuinely life changing for me in such a terrible point in my life. I’m happy to say when the time comes and I get married (which should be in a short few years) I will be booking her to custom make my dress in the future. Thank you so much!

So kind and caring! They took a dress I didn't feel confident in and helped me feel myself in it. Highly recommend them for your alteration needs!

I went to Sew Pretty for my bridal alterations and I cannot recommend Michelle enough! She was extremely sweet, accommodating, and easy to work with! I had three total appointments to make sure everything was fitting perfectly and I was comfortable. Definitely use Sew Pretty for all your alterations!

Michelle and her team exceeded my daughter's and my expectations in all aspects!!!! We had to find a new bridal gown seamstress on short notice aboit 6 weeks before the wedding! Michelle and everyone in her team were so kind and caring, professional and provided highly personalized attention on each of the 3 visits! Only 1 bride is handled at one time which added to a very detailed and focused approach. We were not rushed, the team offered excellent suggestions and all aspects of the many alterations were perfectly done! There was great attention paid to learn how to bustle the gown including a video to use in the wedding day as a way to help remember how to do it. I'm the last fitting the gown and all accessories were so professionally packaged as well. we would recommend Sew Pretty to anyone needing bridal or formal gown alterations! You will not be disappointed! My daughter was so pleased with her bridal gown- it fit perfectly and she looked like a princess on her special day! Thank you Michelle and team!!!!

Michelle and her staff helped me find my perfect gown FAST! They heard what I wanted, and by the third dress, I had found my wedding gown! When there was just one thing I wanted to change about it, Michelle instantly said "no problem! we make wedding dresses here, anything you want, we can make happen" and she did! In my one dress, I got 3 different looks thanks to the work of her amazing alteration team!

I've gone to Michelle at Sew Pretty for many alterations and have always had a great experience. I turned to her for my wedding dress and couldn't be happier with the decision to do so. I went in for 3 fittings and she then held my dress until a couple of days prior to the wedding - living in Philly, I was so grateful and at ease knowing my dress was safe not stuffed into one of my small closets! She is so thorough and she fully understands the results a bride is looking for. My dress was beautiful and pressed perfectly. I will continue seeing Michelle for all of my alterations needs. I can't recommend her enough!

They gave my wedding dress lopsided seams that no other tailor could fix! During my first fitting I had been thinking almost the entire time that I would leave with my dress and take it elsewhere. As a petite woman, I have had lots of items tailored in my life and the fitting was not providing me with much confidence. At the end of the fitting, Michele came by and made some changes to my seamstress's pinning, and I felt more optimistic about leaving my beautiful mermaid mikado gown that I fell in love with, with them. I paid up front for 4 fittings. My second fitting came, and as soon as I put it on, I noticed the whole dress was pulling to the left side and needed to be pulled to the right with every move I made. I mentioned this about 10 times and it was denied by the seamstress over and over, then finally another employee came to weigh in. I was then advised that I should have a bridesmaid on point to do a dress check for me throughout my day. Pretty outrageous. But, not wanting to make a rash decision, I thought I'd leave and think about what I was going to do. After thinking about it, I couldn't even sit down in my dress - let alone take a deep breath. And they gave my beautiful dress UNEVEN SEAMS right before the mermaid flare! Picture attached. The next day I decided to call Michele to pick up my unfinished dress and take it elsewhere. She said no refund would be given because the alterations were already done. Not even a partial refund, despite the fact that two fittings remained. If the alterations were already made, and only tweaks were left, then why was I needing to consistently pull and tug and twist at my dress and be completely unable to sit down? Is it bad work or because the alterations were not finished? Either would warrant at least a partial refund. Michele offered to have me come in and try on the dress to see if they could make it right. I couldn't do that based on my first two fittings. I would rather be out the money than chance leaving my dress with them for two more fittings. I ended up taking my dress to my longtime trusted tailor in northwest Philadelphia, to whom I should have taken it from the outset. When I went to pickup my dress, Michele was not there, and another seamstress who I had not worked with had my dress all packed up and ready to go as if it was finished. I swear Sew Pretty had better reviews when I booked my first appointment. I do not give my money, let alone $885 before anything is done, to places where the owner responds to negative reviews by blaming the customer and neither should you. Any money spent during wedding planning should be well thought out. You can find other tailors that will have you pay per fitting which feels fair. The tailor who completed my dress in the end told me that the previous tailor did a bad job, which I was well aware of. They charged me under $500 to finish my dress and that included ripping the seams and redoing the tailoring! The lopsided seams Sew Pretty did could not be fixed. I still ended up looking amazing in my dress and had a spectacular wedding day, despite the mistakes of this shop. It is interesting that Sew Pretty would rather suffer loss of business from bad reviews than partially refund someone for doing irreversible damage to their wedding dress. I don't like putting negativity out into the world, but I do hope my review saves another future bride the stress and money while planning their wedding.

Went to the salon which was recommended to us for alterations. After my daughters first bridal fitting she was told to come back two weeks before her wedding and the dress wasn't even touched. They told her to come back two days before her wedding and after trying on her gown she noticed that after it was cut and reattached it was not centered the way it should be. When my daughter mentioned it, she was told it can't be perfect! After paying 850.00 for alterations it really should be. My daughter was told to come back the next day but she could just pick up her gown and not try it on. She went back and it was finally done right. Not only were they terrible, they were also very rude to us.

I went to several bridal salons around philly and just didn't have that wow moment. I told Michele what I was looking for before I came in, and the first dress I tried on was the one! I was so impressed with her collection of dresses at a variety of price points. It was always a great experience going in for fittings and Michele was very accommodating to my schedule. She did a beautiful job with the alterations! I would recommend her to anyone.

This was the 1st bridal boutique I visited during the process of picking out my perfect wedding gown. I was able to narrow down to 3 out of the 6 dresses I tried on and they were all so beautiful. At the end of the visit, I was told that I would receive an email about the information about the dresses that I liked but I never received that email. By the way my appointment was on July 6th. I called yesterday to remind the woman to send me the email about my selected dresses but she kept reiterating how busy they have been. As if that has anything to do with me. I'm coming as a bride to a bridle boutique to shop for wedding dresses and you're telling me you are too busy to help someone who is purchasing wedding dresses from you. That's a bit peculiar and I never received the email. I will not be purchasing from this boutique.

Do not go to Sew Pretty Bridal! Michelle was terrible and was really rude to us. My daughters bridal gown was't ready till the day before because two days before they told my daughter that the gown can't be perfect!!! And when she picks it up it is pick up only and she can't try it on. I spent almost 1,000 dollars on her alterations and we were told that!

Had a great experience shopping here and felt that the owner wanted to make sure I looked great regardless of whether I bought the dress there or not. She understands how best to fit women. I had a fabulous experience and will be back for the top notch alterations described on other reviews.
