I look forward to seeing Kate for weeks before my appointment! Kate is a master at blondes. She is truly an artist!
Kate is so fantastic at getting blonde color perfect (especially a lived in look that will last weeks and grow out perfectly) that I literally take an hour and a half train from New York City just to come see Kate. I have tried other salons in NYC and nothing compares, especially for the price Kate offers.

Go to Maggie, she's amazing with color!! My hair was quite rough when I came in, with faded color from previous salons, very red ends and many different tones going on. My requests were like a Frankenstein of inspo photos and my natural hair, it's not like I just showed one photo as what I wanted; she somehow knew exactly what I was looking for and delivered beyond it!! My hair is gorgeous and feels oh so soft. Plus I enjoyed our conversations and it did not feel like I was there nearly as long as I actually was. Anytime I need my hair done I will be visiting Maggie and I suggest anyone else to do the same!

Kate is the absolute best in the game and the only person I trust to do my hair. As a natural blonde, Kate always takes care of me and helps me keep my color looking nice. I am a basic girl, so we normally just do a cut/trim with layers and it always looks amazing. She is also the only person I let get near my face with wax and touch my brows. She is the only person I have used for years. If you want to look and feel your best - Kate is your gal!!

I do not recommend this salon. Typical story of a hair stylist doing whatever they wanted to my hair instead of listening to me. I'm devastated and they have no interest in helping me fix it.
Edit: after posting this review, the stylist Kate sent me a long, gaslighting text message. Still no offer to fix my hair.
Edit 2: I'm confused by their response to this review. I have no record of them calling me...
Edit 3: it is now been three months since I came into the salon and the "toner" never washed out (that's all the owner Cindy offered for me in terms of fixing it, just wait for it to wash out). I finally got my hair fixed at another salon.

After moving back to the area and needing someone to get me to the blonde I wanted, I'm so glad I went to Kate at Hair Event! She looks to protect the integrity of your hair to keep it happy and healthy while getting it to the color you want (which as a want-to-be blonde is everything you want from your stylist.)
I always look forward to getting my hair done here and walking out better than I felt going in!

Maggie is incredible! Being someone with very curly hair, she took that into gracious consideration when trimming my hair. She expressed her concern for wanting to make sure I would be satisfied when styling my hair naturally or with it blown dry. I cannot say enough great things about the atmosphere of the salon either. Everyone is so kind and welcoming, I highly recommend the hair event for all your hair needs!

Came to hair event after the owner posted during covid how to take care of your hair. I was paired with Kate. As a point of reference, I am a bit of a pain in the butt when it comes to hair professional. Kate has been great to work with, adjustments as we go. Kate is both professional and pleasant. I understand that salon service professionals are not magicians and as a client , it is my responsibility to be engaged in the outcome.
Would highly recommend.
