I signed up my child for camp in this facility. I had previously enrolled my child in other YMCA locations and had a nice experience. In this location they did not have the children engaged in the activities and were not paying attention to them. We paid a lot of money for the camp but it did not meet our expectations. If you are looking forward to having your child have a good time during camp do not enroll them at this location. They reached out to the parents and said that out of 20 kids, there was a group of 10 kids who not engaged or paying attention. I believe if 50% of the children are not engaged, they need to change the activities to make them more interesting to the children.

Most of the reviews I read concerning "rude" people at the Hackensack YMCA, are true, one has to be really lucky to find a polite receptionist there , there are some. It's been like that for the last 20 years. That said the Gym is the best I found anywhere. What messed it up was the addition of TVs, the music also use to be very neutral, with music from the 50s, 60s 70s and now is strictly loud hip hop.it used to close at 10 pm now it has hours geared for retiredpeople

I went in today to get a membership card and the woman at the front desk gave an attitude right away. She is very rude and does not have any patience. I was excited to come in and was even thinking about enrolling my daughter here for preschool. She ruined the whole experience for me. I would not recommend coming here at all.

The woman who works the front desk during the weekday morning shift continues to be rude each time we see her. I tried bringing my son to play basketball twice during her shift, and she immediately tries to turn us away. She doesnt offer to tell us what time we can come use the facility, just that we cant and should leave. I then ask her to review the schedule and let me know anytime that works and she proceeds to first say she doesnt know, that I should call later, but then says she is the acting manager. There are 2 basketball gyms and even when one isnt being used she will make up a reason why we cannot use it (first she said it was child safety because of the kids in the daycare and then the second time she claimed its due to covid even though masks aren’t required). The rest of the staff at the front desk during other shifts tend to be courteous and professional but this specific woman doesnt even feel the need to greet you. Seems like she does not understand the meaning of customer service.

Hours posted incorrectly on front door. Changes to schedule if you can even find the schedule. Tried to complain to upper management. Multiple emails never returned.

I've been swimming at the Y for many years.....they've been great during the pandemic. The pool and changing area always felt safe and clean. Everyone is very friendly. I am grateful that they are still open and functioning. Thanks to all the staff!

I like this Y, been a member for two years now. It's an older Y but it has character. Employees are pleasant, the pool is wonderful and during these covid times you must reserve a lane in advance which is for your safety and not the Y''s fault. I swim 3 times a week and take exercise classes twice a week and I feel lucky to have the Y nearby.

My kids were enrolled in this center for swimming. Its probably the worst aquatic program with the most unprofessional director (Jeff Craven). Sometimes instructors were not present, then they would combine classes which would increase the class size so much that it would be useless. Sometimes they would just cancel. It was a disaster. I complained to the head (Glenn) multiple times and he would speak with Jeff who would simply deny. Then one day I took a video and sent it to Glenn. The next day Jeff called me and started shouting as to why I recorded the video and sent it and told me to cancel my membership. A crook getting caught - thats exactly how he sounded like.
