Delivered my baby here & had to request my medical records for my ob but received a bill in the mail that there is a fee for requesting my records which is ridiculous & I’ve never heard of such a thing. Do better Hackensack.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances that brough me here I have to give the highest praises to this hospital, where the atmosphere is warm and welcoming from the moment you step inside. Every staff member, from doctors to nurses to support staff, greeted me and my family with smiles and a genuine willingness to help. As I walked through the hallways, it was clear that everyone was dedicated to making patients and visitors feel comfortable and cared for. The kindness and professionalism made a lasting impression, and I’m truly grateful for the excellent care my family received. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Tatyana Feldman, a compassionate oncologist and Dr. Fred Berlin, an exceptional interventional radiologist, for the incredible care they provided to my mother last month. Dr. Feldman offered not only top-notch medical treatment but also unwavering support and kindness throughout my mother’s cancer treatment. Their dedication and professionalism made a world of difference during a very challenging time for our family. We are forever grateful!

My both experiences here sucks 1st ER visit back in 2019 I wasn’t giving a room I was checked and clear in the hallway! They didn’t have rooms available. (Yes, I had private insurance)
2nd time(02/04/2024)was even worse!!! I delivered my baby boy the delivery floor was great! But the recovery floor after delivering my baby was a nightmare, we are a military family my husband couldn’t make it for our sons delivery, I was by myself and a good friend of mine will come and check on me, after delivering my baby I needed a nap I was exhausted, so I requested my son to be taken to the nursery with the other new borns, well it was denied bc they stated that I was positive for COVID I said I have no body with me I need help so I can rest, they told me based on covid protocols I and the baby have to stay in the room. I asked to be re tested was denied, at long with the nurse being so nasty and treating me with a distant basically she was afraid to be next to me. Next day change of nurse told me to yelled out the number of diapers my baby soiled if she ask or answer the phone to provide the info. I told her I was weak and didn’t want to move too much or hold the baby because I haven’t slept again I requested for the baby to go the nursery and I was denied. I contacted patients experience and guess what! They have a room for kids the have any viral infections and in fact they could have took my baby, and also isn’t a protocol to yelled out the numbers of soiled diapers you get a sheet to write down and the nurse or the nurse aid comes and checks on it.
I feel I was discriminated for having Covid, not only my right were violated but also my new born baby.
All I got was a bill for my stay after insurance paid also apologies from the floor manager nurse and patients relations.

i think this photo says enough. completely outrageous.
the lack of care for people’s wellbeing, in a hospital nonetheless, is outstanding.

High level care very thorough hospital caring professionals far superior to other hospitals in every way!
Just ignore the lectures about palliative care and quality of life which unfortunately many hospitals try to use to influence family to give up. We aren’t allowed to play G-D! NEVER STOP ADVOCATING FOR LOVED ONES TO LIVE!!!

I had an accident , they did good job I’m still working in the recovery. Nurses , doctor are good and tech too but one tech really sucks . She was so rude , disrespectful. She didn’t nock the door I don’t know her name because she never introduced herself . She didn’t even said excuse me to the visit that was close to me . She didn’t say I will do your vitals or something NOTHING .
Since a get here I tried to help and be independent and not bother nobody special tech that sometimes can be really busy . I just feel very upset I told her I’m in pain come back she said this nothing have to do with your pain . She is really bad tech .

I am very upset about my experience with Hackensack University Medical Center this week.
My fiancé went to the ER on 8/19 after having high fevers over the weekend. Preliminary bloodwork was done in the ER and they determined it was a non symptomatic uti causing an infection and she was admitted for a course of IV antibiotics. We were told she'd be in the hospital until at least the 8/22 as they were pending a urine culture and wanted to ensure she went home with the right antibiotics.
Mid morning on August 21st, her charge burse let us know she received discharge papers for her and would be going home that day since nothing grew on the culture. We had had some questions about the culture result and wanted to discuss kidney values and such so we asked if the Dr was coming in. They requested it since they normally don't if the patient is discharged.
The doctor who came in finally after 12pm was Dr Ginsberg. We were asking the questions we wanted clarification on, especially since she had a slight fever the night before. We just wanted to ensure the kidneys were ok and if the culture was negative, where did the infection stem from. She was very limited in her responses, basically telling us she was fine and to go back to work the very next day.
As she was leaving, pathology called up about her bloodwork results from when she originally came in through the er. Dr Ginsberg was made aware of the results and still said she could go.
4 hours after going home, a doctor we didn't know called from the hospital saying she had a bacterial infection in her bloodstream and to come back to the er. We confused and told her Dr Ginsberg was given those results before she was discharged and still released her. The Dr seemed surprised and told us to follow the discharge instructions of starting the meds next day. 15 minutes later a DIFFERENT doctor we also didnt know calls and tells us again about the same culture results from the blood and again seemed surprised when we reiterated that they knew the results prior to discharging and recommended that we do NOT wait to start the antibiotics and to start them ASAP as this could be a serious concern.
I'm just so disappointed by Dr Ginsbergs dismissive attitude, especially when it seems she sent her home when she shouldn't have. We are upset we werent even TOLD a blood culture was pending, we were only told about the urine culture. The communication to patients and between staff is concerning! No one knew Dr Ginsbergs discharge instructions, the two doctors that called weren't aware that the other was even calling so who is tracking cases and taking responsibility for them???
I will say, the ER Dr, Dr White, the nurses in the er and her charge nurses on 2W were PHENOMINAL. They were patient, they answered questions, they were attentive. I even appreciate the doctors calling later to follow up but the whole scenario of one doctor pushing us out the door without the whole diagnostic picture then having the hospital calling multiple times to report results that were concerning to the point they wanted her to go back just shows their case management protocols need to be evaluated as well as certain doctors beside manner and medical care.
This is the #1 hospital in the state, they should be acting like it. Their support staff is what has them deserve that title. Their poor administrative protocols and certain doctors need to be reevaluated. Multiple calls and messages to discuss the care of my fiancé have so far gone unanswered at this time.

My wife was hospitalized with dementia related issues. She spent 8 days there, just received hospital bill. I called to make payment plan as resources are limited. The person I spoke with put me on hold as she spoke with a supervisor, when she returned I told that I would need a power of attorney in order to make payment plan. If this correct it's a horrible policy, it's not like my wife's dementia was cured. I'll never bring her to this hospital again, not impressed.

These fantastic, caring and wonderful doctors and nurses take their patients and job very seriously. They saved my brothers life and kept us updated and informed the whole say through. Without them I’m not sure he’d be here today and my family and I are extremely grateful to all the staff here. I can’t say enough to express how great they are.
