“New start is such a great cute store! My sister and I went a few weeks ago and spoke with Thomas who was extremely kind and knowledgeable. We had a great experience and are excited to go again soon!!”
“This thrift store is really organized, clean, and the staff are VERY accommodating. ?? I went shopping here with my mother for my birthday, and we had a great experience! The store has two floors full of clothing, shoes, and other treasures. I love how there is a wide price range for each item. You can find things for $6 or for more than $60! All the clothing is in excellent condition, some look as if they were never worn. However, I do have to note that this thrift store does not sell a lot of furniture, it is only mostly for clothing. Overall, this is a great thrift shop that I highly recommend!!!”

“Organized and good thrift store that supports a good cause (Hospice). Accepts donations on Tuesdays & Saturdays. Items are all priced well. Found few hidden gems here!!”
“Tadpoles to Toddlers is a great place to shop. The items she has in her store are in great shape. When my grandson comes to visit we always make sure we stop to o do some shopping. Yesterday he scored an outdoor chair, a new outfit, and multiple wooden toys. Check it out, I highly recommend Tadpoles to Toddlers”
“They have incredible finds in men’s wear for half of what you pay at other thrift stores. Additionally, the staff is very friendly and will work with you on prices. I got a nice suit for only $5.”
“A good old fashioned retailer where the employee is empowered to do some bargaining with the potential shopper the way retail should be in this country. Very refreshing atmosphere in this hidden gem”
“Always a great bargain! You never know what you’ll find here. I wish the hours were a bit longer but other than that it’s one of my favorite spots to thrift at!I’d love if someone contacted me if they needed help with organizing. It’s one of my favorite pastimes and I definitely wouldn’t mind helping out with all the good they do for the community! :)”
“such kind and welcoming staff!!! decent selection with great promotions & sales. narrow passageways between sections depending on how busy the store gets! very organized but no fitting rooms! street parking is always available.this thrift store is a breath of fresh air compared to others in the area. will be back!”
“I absolutely love this place!! I've been on an "antiquing" hunt lately, and was looking for places near by. I am not afraid to DIY anything, so I love looking around at places. Well, I decided to come on yelp and look some places up. Restore Habitat for Humanity (the manville one and freehold one- but people were saying that's a high priced location) kept popping up. My friends have told me about it, but I've never really looked into it. I figured I wasn't doing anything the next day, that I wanted to check it out. That night, I actually found their Facebook page and was scrolling along... when all of a sudden I saw that the Somerset Patriots have donated furniture from their lounges. I saw that they had donated 54 bar stools, along with other things. Me and my husband are renovating our basement right now, and are putting a bar in. We have a pool table, and were in the market for 5 bar stools for our bar. I saw them on the Facebook page, I had to go and see if they were still there!! **we didn't need them yet, so I was just going to "look" lol ** The next day, I ended up driving the 30 minutes to Manville. When I first got in, it was packed (went around lunch time.) I walked quickly around the store to see if I could find them, and I couldn't. I figured let me do another lap around maybe i skimmed passed it real quick, and sure enough I found 2. Only 2. I sat in them and instantly loved them, but was sad there were only 2. I was looking around for an employee to ask if they had more, but I figured they were all gone. I was heartbroken.. especially because they were ONLY $50. I drove all the way home, just thinking about these chairs. They would have gone PERFECT with my pool table. When I got home, I went on their Facebook to see exactly how many they got in. It was a week prior since they posted their post, and said that the patriots donated 54 stools. There's no way they could have sold that many in a week, right!?? I decided to shoot my shot and message them. After the message went through, I got an automatic response from the page. Oh great, well that's not gonna go anywhere. About an hour later, I noticed someone responded. I asked if they had any more by chance, and the kind gentleman said they do, they are just in storage right now hoping to bring them by the store soon. I asked him when he was planning on having them over there, because I needed 5. He asked me if he wanted me to hold them for me, and I said yes!! About 40 min go by, and he had responded they are at the store and if I could pick them up that day. I said I'll see you in 30min!! I took my husbands truck back to Manville, and went up front by the registers. The man put "sold" tape on about 15 of the chairs, and told me to pick the best 5 I wanted and they were mine! They had some normal scratches on them, but the leather was fine! When I got them home, I touched them up with furniture markers and leather cleaner, and they look brand spanking new!! Everyone I tell about them think I bought them brand new. Long story short, after the discounts I got taken off, I was able to walk away with 5 quality bar stools for only $186!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!! Stools like these go for $150.. EACH (or even more)!! And I just got 5 for $186???!!!! You've gotta be kidding me!! What a steal!!!! Prices are extremely reasonable here (i know everyone has a different range of 'reasonable' but it really is). And it makes me feel good that I spent money here and it's going to a great cause. I ended up going back a week later to buy a thrifted painting to do the viral "ghost painting" trend. I will for sure be back!! The volunteers are great!!”

501 North Ave, Dunellen“Love this place! I often come here with my friends, is very clean, has great prices, and has great selection and I usually always end up walking out with some cool new stuff :)”
“No goodwill store is created equal. This one sits in the area of average for me. It doesn't participate in $1 Sunday deals. It also only offers 40% off 1 color that they have none of. That being said, the staff are very helpful and smiling. It's clean and organized. I just wish there was more furniture.”
11AM - 5PM
698 Oak Tree Ave, South Plainfield“The store in South Plainfield is generally clean and organized. I have not had many interactions with staff members, except at the checkout line. Maybe a few workers have English as their second language.
I love looking at all the items. It gets crowded on 50% off sale days, but that is to be expected.
Some clothes are brand new, with their tags still on! Be careful of prices and check the color of the tags to see if they are on sale that day. Warning - you cannot purchase an item if it doesn't have a tag. Make sure you check all your items for rips or stains, broken zippers, etc.”
“Great Store, nice staff, Jeanette so friendly. My friend & I met nice
shoppers & we shared stories of great buys at this store. This is a very large store with lots of inventory & family run so ... take your time to browse & find items or clothes to be green. Fashion & costume shopping for Party Theme or Halloween you have a lot to be creative. Senior day 25% off on tuesdays and all other days the colored tag sale is listed at register on the white board.
The housewares & dishes as well as gift bags, baskets, & cd's & books are worth your time to find a treasure. Regards, Tricia”
