Nice little store, they seem to have a little bit of everything. Little on the expensive side though.

This hardware store has been located on Broadway in Gloucester. It's family owned and although it's not a giant big box store the employees will go out of their way to help any and all customers that come though their doors. Everyone that works there are extremely kind and helpful.

Stopped in here for the 1st time today. Looking for Famowood Wood Filler. Sadly they didn't have it in stock. But that's no knock against them as it's almost impossible to find it in any brick and mortar store in the area. However, I was welcomed as soon as I walked in. Was directed immediately to the area I was looking for. And when I was leaving, they asked what specifically I was looking for, and stated they could get Famowood if I wanted.(I didn't do this as I was pressed for time for when I needed it.) Very friendly staff. Made me feel very welcome. And valued even without buying anything. Will definitely be checking them out again for future hardware needs as I'd rather give this small business money than the big chains. Amazing customer service.

I run a guitar repair & restoration business a few blocks away from Carr’s Hardware. They’re awesome. Great prices, great people, great service. A couple weeks ago I mentioned that I needed some pegboard for my workshop and they just gave me a few big sheets of their old pegboard displays completely for free. Whenever they don’t have something I need on hand, they look it up and order it for me if they have access to it. And the next Thursday I come in, there it is.Probably now more than ever, it’s important to put some thought into where you’re spending your money before you spend it. The bigger retailers like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Walmart become, the more money they have to burn their names into the back of your mind through advertising, and the harder it becomes for small mom and pop shops to create their own Walmart story (i.e. a small mom and pop shop growing into a retail giant themselves). If we never go out of our way to make sure that small mom and pop shops have the chance to earn our business, larger retailers slowly cannibalize, and eventually monopolize their entire niche. And the last whisper of competition gets stomped out by a merger between two mega corporations.Carr’s Hardware may not have the budget to run thousands of ads, but they are the model business in Gloucester City. No one runs a small, local business better than them.
