I have been at both Chocolate Shops in Smithville, hands down the chocolate here was much better, it didn't have extreme sugar and the person behind the counter was really lovely!!!!
After being at both places, this is the one I will come back to.

I agree with what others have said. The candy has been hanging around too long and is stale. Have gotten burned too many times there. The candy store on the other side of the lake, across from The Smithville Inn, has excellent quality.

Old stock. Stale candy. The GOOD candy store is on the other side of the bridge. This is all old, leftover Christmas and Easter candy. Don’t waste your money.

You advertise that you close at 6 PM. However, when I arrived at 4:50 PM on the day before Valentine's Day, you were already closed, which doesn't make sense..

was there last week and got the milk chocolate nonpareils which were yummy and priced right! Also the red licorice wheels. just wish they shipped since I don't live near there and want more!

There are two speciality confectionery chocolate shops. We picked this store due to two factors. The $1.50 chocolate covered marshmallows. That’s a .50 cent savings! And the dark chocolate raspberry cup covered pretzels. One of a kind. Take care to ensure the goodies don’t melt on the way home

I love chocolate - I always have since childhood. Favorite EVER - Reese Peanut Butter cups (originals, "Big Cups," and the dense holiday trees and pumpkins!) I also LOVE chocolate covered pretzels and nonpareils. When I saw the chocolate cornucopia, I was drooling and so tempted to buy it (pic doesn't do it justice!) If Thanksgiving hadn't already passed, I surely would have!!! Instead, I just got 4 chocolate covered sea salt pretzels. Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I ran into old neighbors - right behind me in line! It was an added bonus :)

We spent close to $40 here. When we got home, we opened the bag to find that half of what we got wasn't what we ordered. We bought 2 giant MILK chocolate peanut butter cups and recieved 2 WHITE chocolate ones instead (yuck!). Our chocolate raspberry oreo crumb treat turned out was exchanged for some weird white chocolate oreo crumb thing instead. The one oreo crumb that the girl DID get right tasted old and stale. The fudge and truffles were good-- the only saving grace. Unfortunately, the fudge she claimed was a strong chocolate was instead laced with coffee flavoring (again, yuck!).If you still decide to go here, make sure you watch carefully to see that they give you what you ask for. And stay away from the stale oreo crumb cups.

The caramel apples are divine. I love all of the choices, chocolate or candy.It's also adorable to look at.Smells great, tastes delicious and it's a must go to whenever I'm in Smithville.

This is certainly sweet paradise . They have an amazing variety of chocolates and sweet stuff , so worth the drive .

Excellent variety of chocolates and candy. They carry different seasonal items throughout the year. Great local place if you need to get a gift for someone.
