We recently moved to the area and began using this branch of the Provident. Customer service is disheartening. We have been customers of the Provident for over 40 years and have never been spoken to or treated with utter disrespect. We drove up to the ATM withdrew cash drove to the entrance to exchange the smaller bills for a larger bill (a gift for my granddaughter) went inside and explained to the teller what I needed. I also handed him my debit card with the cash. For some reason you have to be a customer to exchange their money in the ATM for a larger bill. It is only exchanging two twenties and a ten for a $50 bill. He began typing information into his computer as though I was applying for a loan.. I asked him what he was doing because it was taking so long and he said we have to take all of your information down its policy. I said it is ridiculous and this has never been the case before and he said "it's new, when we're you here last" Was I supposed to get a memo about this new policy? He was being very difficult and rude. He keep on typing on the keyboard for whatever reason I don't know. I'm assuming he wanted to be annoying... I have had issues in the past at this branch but chalked it up to people having a bad day. Now it's time to end our relationship with the Provident because I can not see it getting any better. My suggestion retrain your staff and send them to your Bayonne and Greenville Branch which we were customers for 40 years, exceptional customer service.
