After founding out my cat Olette was pregnant, she gave birth days later and one of the newborns needed a very delicate reconstructive procedure after he was breeched and momma tried pulling him out. Katie (tech was also AMAZING so comforting knowing I had her throughout the chaos) told me to come in right away without hesitation. Let me tell you... Dr Connelly was so patient and precise, closed up most of his wounds I was completely astounded by her skills (he has a great prognosis so far as a newborn) I was frequent this week, the staff knew Olette by name and the communication (I had 3 different vets) were all in sync for her care plan. The girls at the front desk were very patient with me as I paced around for hours LOL until after they closed. The VCA app I highly recommend to message any of the vets for any questions. They are all so passionate about what they do. Thank you everyone!!

The prices are exorbitant. I feel sick to my stomach after having left there. That's even with the "help" of a care plan. Medications are not covered (how convenient.) I walked out of there with my sick cat .......still sick and hundreds, I mean hundreds upon hundreds of dollars in the hole. Be prepared to get charged an arm and a leg ...and then some more. This business is making a killing off of pet owners. Good luck to you 'cause you are going to need it here.

I rarely write reviews. I just don't have the time. So when I do take the time to write a review, it's because I've had a really bad experience or a really good one. I'm happy to say it's the latter in this case and I'm privileged to write a review for the VCA of Freehold. I had to put my dog Bob down last week and I can say out of all the vet hospitals and offices I had to bring Bob to, this was the only vet office that showed the compassion, kindness, patience and love toward me and my animal that I have ever seen. Both Dr. Schiavone and Dr. Savo spoke with me at length about Bob and what to do, never rushing me off the phone or out of the office. When the time came to make the difficult and awful decision to humanely put my beloved pet to sleep, they were there to help and guide me in that decision, in ways NO OTHER VET OFFICE OR 24/7 VET HOSPITAL would put their opinion (or lucrative medical costs) on the line for someone asking (pleading) for the hard truth outside what medical science can prolong. In the end, Dr. Savo helped me to make that difficult decision with a bit more peace of mind, something you can't put a price on or bill for. Dr. Schiavone even called me as a follow up to tell me how sorry she was to hear about Bob, something she wasn't obligated to do. Kit, who answers the phone, was always very nice and got Bob in for appts straight away when it counted. And while I don't know everyone's name at VCA Freehold office, the girl who rushed out to triage Bob, the girl who asked us if we would like some water, how they took the time to set up the room, everything about this office was 5 stars. I don't know who you are or what you're going through, but if you're looking for a vet office that really cares, are nice, helpful and patient, and takes the time to listen to you in the care of your pet, then this is the place for you. - Adrienne L.

This is the worst hospital. They have no system or way of tracking the remains of pets that have passed away. We picked up what we we told at the time was our pets remains only to receive a call moths later asking when we were going to pick them up. All the manager wanted to know was if we called a lawyer. They’re just the worst with incompetent staff and indifferent managers. Do not trust them, all they did was cover up their mistake and refused to admit any wrongdoing. They’re liars. All they use are post it notes on a shelf, so if the fall off, they just get picked up and guessing game as to who is who.

Attention all Pet Caretakers, lovers, rescuers of the homeless and the abandoned who do their part like me every single day to help feed feral stray cats or bringing a lost dog back to its rightful owner or a stranded turtle walking on the major roadway as well as a wolf injured bird I have done my part and still help homeless animals every single day. I had brought my 9-10 year old Akita one year ago here to be examined for a potential tumor or a cyst. I have had previous experience in other local animal hospitals mainly to have my previous dogs examined as they are considered working, military, police, and known to be home protectors of large breeds. It has always bothered me the negativity in the world which I would witness, the fear, the ignorance, and no compassion for all dog breeds equally yet I had to become more mature, wiser, and older to appreciate who I am as a person to not take it personally however I would when I would witness the most unkind and abuse towards my dogs and just plain nasty and hatred. I vowed to myself when my dog was poisoned by a neighbor when I owned a rottie it had forever changed my outlook on trust in other people and I will never forget what I had endured although it has made me the person I am today. This veterinarian in particular displays the most respect and loyalty to all dogs equally in need of urgent care. My dog has been given the most fast and most respectable care from all of the staff members. I have always had a positive experience and my dog has been taken care of immediately. I believe that compassion serves this animal hospital and the staff are never afraid to handle any challenges and I believe that is very important to me and all animals in need of care. Life is so short and unexpected events occur which is why you should come here and give it a try and I can guarantee you will see what I mean. The prices for animal care is very reasonable here and that is another great factor to consider when looking for local animal hospitals. I hope if your reading this you consider my positive experience because I would want the same for you and your pet to get better. All the best. Best Vet around NJ come here!!!!!!

Took my.dog to Freehold Animal Hospital to get appt for dental cleaning. Dr. Land told me and my husband that my Eskimo dog had a heart murmur, recommending an expensive Echocardiogram before dental, she did not use a sethescope on the dog to detect, said she could feel the murmur. This was my first appointment, no other previous vet said anything about any heart murmur. And she told me that she would not be doing the dental under anesthesia, would be a vet tech doing dental. I did not feel comfortable with this at all. Took my dog elsewhere, no heart murmur at all, nothing. When I called Freehold Animal Hospital to cancel Echocardiogram and dental, the Cardiologist that does Echo at Freehold Hospital called me back, said Dr Land would not have been able to detect the murmur without a stethoscope. I guess they just wanted more money. And to have their care plan shoved in your face by a tech as soon as you go into a room is nuts. I was told it covers all shots, well my dog has all his shots, then I was told cost $149 a month! My dog had his teeth cleaned at another Animal Hospital, VMD did dental with anesthesiologist, no problems! Thank God I went somewhere else! Make sure you know what you are getting, why, and who is doing procedure.

Really not happy with this corporation. The employees seem more concerned with profits over actual pet care. Doctor and nurses rush through the exam and poor bedside manner. They are so rushed they even lost the screws to my cat carrier and put these ties on my carrier instead of either offering me a new one or paying me for a new one. They are also unsanitary, they brought out blankets that were already pissed in from another cat. The fake niceness of the nurses is very transparent, the place just feels slimey. I will be avoiding ALL VCA owned hospitals in the future.

I will only give a positive review for Dr. Renee Land and Dr. Marc Togneri. If you have a French bulldog I highly suggest that you see Doctor Land or Dr Togneri because they're the most knowledgeable. If you're looking to go to this animal hospital I highly suggest that you only see these two veterinarians. Because they're highly knowledgeable and the most experienced. I must give a positive review also to Carly and Brian that work the front desk because they're the only ones that are knowledgeable understanding caring consider and the most professional. I will warn you that the customer service and the professionalism of how they take care of their customers at the front is absolutely deplorable. We had an appointment yesterday for a follow up appointment for our puppy. We were running 10 minutes behind. I called the hospital to let them know Because I know that's the proper thing to do.And was told that I would not be able to come in with my pet because I was halfway through my appointment. I will not call out anybody's name because I'm not that type of person. But you know who you are... What I don't understand is if I'm halfway through my appointment why wasn't I called. Lack of communication. I have been a LOYAL member for 5+ years and care club plus member that pays good money and gets treated like this. Completely unacceptable and it's a shame that I will be leaving Freehold Animal Hospital on a bad note. I am very upset and I don't feel welcomed whatsoever. .

I have been visiting VCA Freehold for over 15 years now. They've taken care of my first 2 dogs from birth until their passing, with great care and compassion. Now my 3 yo puppy is carrying on in their paw prints!

I am very unhappy with this office. Had been with this office for a couple of years now, no issues. My dog recently had an emergency, day of called the office to ask if they can see my dog. "Double booked all night, we can't do anything" okay understandable so We called another vet and asked for advice, they said to watch it over night and To schedule an appointment With our usual vet for the next day. Next day comes not only do we wait longer than our appointment time, The assistant who brought my dog inside the building (cause of COVID social distancing) she seemed terrified of my dog. the doctor had no clue what he was saying. He kept saying things like he "Welllll might need this but he might not" Okay so does he or does he not? How is it maybe? Afterwards, they said he would have to wait 4+ days to get stitches. When I asked Why? It was Because it's late and they don't want to do it. Excuse me? We had a scheduled time and they knew in advance that was a possibility. Overall, I paid over 200$ just for a checkup and not even feeling confident in the doctors review of my dogs injury. I feel like I paid over 200$ for nothing. Going to a new vet ASAP do not go to Freehold Animal Hospital. They care about your money not your animals
