I have been a customer of ShopRite pharmacy for last six years and service had been satisfactory except for last few months. I see new faces now, and new staff lack knowledge and customer service. I had to struggle and waste over an hour before they accepted that they have the medicine refill to be dispensed. I called my doctor using my cell but pharmacist refused to talk to the doctor on the cell and asked that Doctor should call the pharmacy number then only she will talk. When doctor called the pharmacy, he was put on hold. I am in the process of moving all of my prescriptions to other pharmacy.

I visited ShopRite on Elizabeth Avenue in Somerset on 9/5/23 around 3:00pm and was waiting to get a flu shot. After filling out the paperwork, I was asked to wait. After 7-8 minutes of waiting, I went to the pharmacist and asked howmuch longer I should wait. The Pharmacist sarcastically said, 'why are you catching a plane’. I responded to him by saying ‘it is none of your business’.After I said that, the Pharmacist turned to me and said "now you are pissing me off and I am not going to give you the flu shot".I was shocked and humiliated by this and I immediately went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. I explained the whole situation to her.She asked me to wait and after a few minutes, then told me to go back to the pharmacy and said that I would get the flu shot. The Pharmacist refused again saying ‘She is not my boss and I won’t give you the shot'.I went back to the front desk and and requested to speak to the manager again. This time it was a senior manager and I explained to him what has happened. He asked me to walk with him the the pharmacy, went inside the pharmacy and talked to the pharamacist for a couple of minutes. The pharmacist then came out and gave me the flu shot.Although both the pharmacist and the senior manager apologized to me, this experience was very humiliating, especially since other shoppers were looking at me when the pharmacist yelled and said 'I am not giving you your shot'.I felt like I was treated like a criminal; this incident made me feel very depressed. I am a senior citizen of Indian descent, who has been living in this country for 48 years, and I can't remember the last time I was treated this way. I have been a regular customer of this pharmacy for almost two decades, but I will not be returning again.Unfortunately I did not get the pharmacist's name, but I do hope that they feel some consequences for their actions.

Lenny in appy for fried chicken catering is the BEST. Lenny goes over and above to ensure you have a positive customer experience at store level and by phone. He is my go to professional when I order for my private home parties. The food is always on time and excellently flavored and fresh. He deserves a raise!BestLongtime customer. CJP --

I'm grateful to have this big, well-stocked, and clean Shop Rite supermarket right in my town. The prices are good and with a Shop Rite card shoppers can get more discounts. The free parking lot is huge and well lit. The staff is polite, helpful, and efficient. I've always found everything I needed to buy from a supermarket here. It's one of the Villages Shop Rites.

Clean, well organized Shop Rite. The employees were helpful and the store was what you expect from the brand. A little hard to find, but otherwise great.

My siblings and I were planning on having a beautiful Thanksgiving. We online ordered everything early, however, all of that became a nightmare. I am disheartened and emotionally distressed because I thought we were going to celebrate a warm dinner with my loved ones (whom I never get to see for years) and has been really difficult due to the pandemic. Because of the incompetence of the delivery department, we had no food to prepare on our plates. We called but they hung up on us no matter the number of times we've reached out. Too much unprofessionalism. We are very disappointed.

Bakery Section Specific Review * Using the Shoprite Order Express app I made a very custom order for a birthday cake. I was impressed by how easy it was to use and that it gives you a preview of the custom cake! Unfortunately I had entered the name incorrectly of the recipient. I called and canceled the order with customer service and then submitted a new one that was correct. 2 days later, today, I went to pick up my order and the canceled order was what I received - with the name spelled wrong. Now this was a problem with whomever was supposed to cancel the order not the bakery itself. Laurie immediately responded to my concern to talk the situation through with me and was very sweet and understanding about it all. Joe worked quickly to correct the name on the cake for me and I was out the door in 20 min. Although I am frustrated that the order was not canceled by customer service the night I called, I am extremely thankful for how kind and willing Laurie and Joe were to make it right. Thank you!

This is my neighborhood ShopRite. Since COVID the deli has been horrendous. Service is painfully slow. If you order at the kiosk before you start shopping and return an hour later your order will still not be done (that's if you remember to go back and get it). I feel myself age while I watch them. They are so very slow they almost move backwards. There is no accountability. You ask for it sliced thin, you get it however they feel like giving it to you. I'm never really sure I get what I ask for. Many items are not loaded in the kiosk- so you order something else and then leave a notes and hope you get the right thing. IT DOESN'T WORK. Everyone waiting is complaining. It is NOT normal to wait for an order for 45 minutes unless it's super busy. Please change it back so we can wait, order, and then watch live while they slice our orders. PLEASE. Oh- and fire everyone in the deli depart and start over.

I can't prove it, but a few weeks ago, I ordered $30 worth of cold cuts. Salami? Molten, fatty rounds of meat. Boars Head deluxe ham, $12 a pound. I got it home, and it was 100% the wrong ham. Fatty, with nasty veins in it, pukish pink color, and very sweet --HATE sweet ham. Plus, the ham was these really long slices, not the typical square slices of boars head. I always ask for thin slices, and this was thick nasty stuff. Now that they have you order thru kiosks, who knows what they're doing behind that counter. Charging me $12 and slicing up the nasty $4 cheap crap. I used to complain about the attitudes there, but hey....I get not everyone enjoys their job. Now? I just don't trust them anymore. I just make the extra trip to stop and shop, where they talk with me, I see them slicing the ham I paid for, and the deli people are friendlier.

This isn't my local ShopRite, but I don't live terribly far from this location, so decided to check this out. This store looks very different than my local East Brunswick Shoprite. It's much cleaner and is very colorful. Looks moderatly like the ShopRite in Spotswood. This Shoprite isn't half bad, and as other reviewers say Bound Brook is better. I would say they rank about the same. I like this location slightly more because it is much cleaner than Bound Brook, and they have a bigger selection. Both stores though, I have to say are quite disorganized. I found it was quite tricky to find most items, and there isn't enough staff to help you. In almost every aisle, I found something that didn't belong. They do have a great variety here, and they do have some really fancy ingredients here too that I haven't seen at other grocery stores. Overall, fair store with a good selection!

Well unfortunately, this is the closest ShopRite since we are living temporarily in an apartment until our house is done being built. It's small, but they don't really seem to want to hold on to their meager clientele. They're the ONLY ones that still have kiosks for deli service. I went there today for a quick visit, 10 minutes. I ordered 1/2 pound of turkey breast. It said the order would take 45 minutes. I went to a deli person to see if I could get it sooner. Nope. "There are 5 people ahead of you." Really? I decided to go to the very accommodating ShopRite in Bound Brook, 10 minutes away. Stay away from the Somerset branch unless you have lots of time to waste.
