I have filed with H&R Block for years with no complaints. For the good years I'd give 4 stars. But, if I could give negative stars this year I would. Averages out to one star.I filed my taxes on the website in January, 2023 and was elevated to a Tax Pro since my return was more complicated than the standard options provided by the website. The Tax Pro (Wayne) said I needed to file my wife's State Return by hand and mail-in which was accurate due to her clergy status, but he was completely unhelpful in figuring out that process. Just said mail it in like I knew what to do. So I had to hire a nice outside accountant to file my wife's State Return. Thought that was what I paid Wayne the Tax Pro for. Meanwhile, the nice outside accountant informed me the Federal was filed incorrectly by Wayne the Tax Pro and I would need to amend. I called Wayne the Tax Pro numerous times as well as messaged several times starting in early April 2023. (Check my account messages, HRB.) Never responsed.After a month I reached out to Wayne the Tax Pro's office and a nice lady named Gina offered to set me up with a new Tax Pro. According to Gina, Tax Pro 2 was supposed to call. Never happened.I followed up with numerous phone calls to Tax Pro 2. Finally got through to a lady in Tax Pro 2's office who was exceptionally rude, interrupted my explanation, asked for my name and said Tax Pro 2 would call back and hung up. They were just annoyed I kept calling so they told me what I wanted to hear so I would stop. Surprise. Never called.Fast forward May 31st, 2023. I filed a complaint with the HRB Online Department and asked to be moved to a new Tax Pro in a new office. Tired of dealing with the Somerset, NJ & New Brunswick, NJ incompetent offices and personnel. The HRB Online Department apologized and graciously offered to elevate the case. (Don't believe me, HRB? Case #16696609) They said someone would follow up within 3-5 days. Sure enough even after I explicitly asked to not deal with that office again Gina - the same Gina from the original Somerset office - called again because they got an email from the District Manager about a complaint. Gina (who was always nice and friendly and I have no complaints about) offered to set me up with the same Tax Pro 2. Fine. I don't care. Just somebody help me. Guess what. Never heard back.June 7th, called HRB Online Dept again to file another complaint. They said that the first Case was never elevated. Well what is the point of making a case if it doesn't do anything? So Case #2 was made (Case # 16736788) and elevated. They said I would get an email with an 800# to call and that I should specifically check my junk mail because it was notoriously missed by customers and sent to spam. Well, I have scoured my spam, inbox, promotions, and social folders for the last 10 days. Guess what. Never got an email.Today is June 17th, 2023. That's two Tax Pro's, two office personnel, two Complaints, two Cases "elevated", multiple failures to be contacted, and six months of dealing with this. Just give me a resolution HRB.In summary, if you want a nightmare, waste a bunch of money, and in the end to have a chance to pay hundreds more to a nice outside accountant, use HRB. Otherwise, just hire the nice outside accountant. They may be a bit more expensive on the front end monetarily, but will cost you less in the end in cash and sanity.

Terrible experience . Bad customer service. Would not recommend to anyone. Employees were very dismissive. Walked in they were arguing with a customer. I was doubled booked. Rep Helen was extremely rude
