You need to AVOID NATHAN SHAEFFER AT ALL COSTS. Please Google his name where you will find 44 negative reviews from banfield petsmart CALLING HIM OUT BY NAME. I can only assume they fired you, and here you are. Your 1st week here at cedar lane, nearly killing my precious Bonnie. That's her name, NOT THAT DOG. His misdiagnosis and the med he put her on, within one hour nearly killed her. he never even called me back ! The office was open. And being new to New Jersey, his miss diagnosis followed me around for a week. And her underlying problem collapsed trache, still going unaddressed. Bonnie is prone to infections from environmental factors which he denies he thinks dogs can only get sick from other dogs. one week I faught for her life because of your actions . I had to drive all the way back down to Lancaster' Pennsylvania to get my dog the help she needed because everywhere I went here people think I'm naive that my dog's dying of endstage heart failure because that's what this man put in her record and put her on salix and temporal p.. with an hour of giving her the med, she was dying. She had text book worse reactions (I called the drug manufacturer) it practically took her life. I will never get the apology MY BONNIE DESERVES because by doing so then you're admitting wrong. FYI I've had full bloodwork x-rays ultrasound and 3 different Veterinarians evaluate her, to give me the piece of mind I needed. Nathan, Bonnies heart wasn't so large that it was bouncing around in her chest causing the cough, Bonnie does not have liver disease, Bonnie does not have kidney disease, Bonnie is not in end stage heart failure. Her name is Bonnie, NOT THAT DOG. and lastly Bonnie does not have cancer .you're a freaking idiot and make no mistaket, I'm NOT done with you yet I let time go by to calm down I will have your license in the State of New Jersey make no mistake. And doctor bacon, make no mistake he is a business owner before hes a veterinarian. practically stalking me for weeks calling me trying to tell me to bring my dog back in there because he wants to manufacture a problem that doesn't exist to validate the actions of Nathan shaffer. And doctor bacon would not even have known about me, I decided after everything was said and done a few weeks later to call the office as a human being to see if I could get some compassion ,that will never happen but please just avoid Nathan see anyone else in that office do your research these animals are more than that they're family and you nearly killed my Bonnie BY PUTTING her ON A MED SHE DIDNT NEED! shame on you

A small but complete clinic, with 4 rooms and a handful of vets. I took both my cats there, one of wellness check and one for an infected paw. Both trips were efficient, which I appreciated. Cats not happy with the foreign place, but examinations and vaccines were quick. Vet was also able to give some useful advice on what to watch out for as well. For extremely irritated pets (like mine), they have face masks and towel burritos tactics to get the information needed. The prices are very reasonable, and despite being busy, they have a good system so sick patients can get seen as soon as possible. Having a mini pharmacy on site is also helpful. I have no issues about coming here regularly in the future.

Been using Cedar Lane Animal Clinic for many, many years. Not really close to my home but we travel when we need to take our cats to the vet. We recently had to euthanize our oldest cat, Ladybug. She was 17 or 18 years old and failing. Dr. Schaffer was incredibly kind and supportive. The office staff are also very nice and comforting. My husband and I were heartbroken and found great comfort in the way Ladybug was handled. Absolutely recommend this animal clinic to everyone. Kindness is in their DNA and we truly took notice.

We have been bringing our cats here for years. The Dr.s here are very caring. While the staff has changed over the years, their compassion for our furry family members has always remained steadfast. We recently had to say goodbye to one of our cats, and even though the office was extremely short staffed, Dr. Bacon made time for us during our extremely difficult time. This will always be our animal clinic as long as we live in this area! Thank you CLAC!!

We've taken our pets to CLAC for years, when adding a family pet to saying goodbye to one. Regardless of how busy or short staffed they are they are not only attentive and compassionate but also professional and friendly. Doctor Bacon's dedication is on a completely different level- Thorough, patient, and present . I can not express my appreciation for his time, and knowledge, Every visit is specific, he clearly explains and confirms the recommended course of action. For me I value his willingness to incorporating what is necessary medically while also making allowances for natural healing when possible. Truly one of a kind.

Just started taking my 5 fur babies to Dr. Bacon, after my long-time vet retired. So far, I am very impressed with his thorough approach, and care for my babies. This office is very accommodating, as well. I will def recommend.

I have been using vetinarians for my cats for over 30 years in NJ. Been using Cedar Lane for last 3 years. Their rates are the most reasonable of all the other places. But more importantly the quality of care is just wonderful. They saw us compassionately through the end with a diagnosis of Lymphoma in one of cats. Currently they are treating our aged cat who had to have his eye removed (which they performed). And now his kidneys are failing requiring multiple trips and trea

After 10+ years I am moving on. The quality and level of care has deteriorated significantly. The practice did not handle the pandemic well. And, today said I could not get an appointment until November for my dog who is whimpering and unable to walk on his hind leg. Not best practices, not even close.

I have gone to Dr Bacon for over 10 years but since his retirement, the practice has declined rapidly. There seems to be a revolving door of veterinarians. My senior dog was diagnosed with having a stage 4 heart murmur by a brand new Dr. When I took him to a veterinary cardiologist, he was a stage 2. Lots of unneccesary tears in between the visits. They did not handle the pandemic very well at all and could not make an appointment for my three dogs. And finally today when I called for my dog to be seen they said they could not make an appointment until November even after I told them that he is not able to walk on his back paw and whimpering. All three of my dogs are overdue for a rabies shot and heartworm meds. Let a message for Dr Bacon and never heard back. Moving on.

Update: I filed a dispute with my credit card company and got my $45 back. I also recieved a nasty letter in the mail from Dr Bacon after he recieved my dispute. I took my cat elsewhere and several other vet practices told me they saw no evidence of my cat even having a thyroid issue and needing lifetime meds. Avoid this practice at all costs!

I've been a client of Dr. Bacon and CedarLane Animal Clinic for close to 40 years. I have always been impressed that all the Vets take their time and explain what's going on with my dogs. Dr. Bacon, especially, even though he's taken a back seat more or less just running the practice, f you ask to speak with him, he will always make time, call you back and explain everything in detail to calm your fears. All the Vets will, but I appreciate the time Dr. Bacon and Dr. Quin will make for you when they call you back. Obviously over the years I've leaned towards certain Vets there and the staff is always helpful in finding a time and day when one of my vet choices are available. Of course there are always emergencies and you might not get the doctor you prefer, but they are all very competent.
