I went here for the first time on 5/31. By 6/13 my $88 gel x manicure BEFORE tip has chipped for the 3rd time. I’ve been getting gel x for years and this is quite literally the worst one I’ve ever gotten. I may give them one more chance but the owner told me to come back in 2 weeks… manicure can hardly last a few days without chipping. I spent $200 here total (I tip 25%) and this is what happens? Very very upset and it’s ridiculous I had to go back twice to get my nails fixed - owner stressed this was free as if I’d actually pay to get a nail fixed when my manicure doesnt even last a week - and it STILL chips again! I’m calling tomorrow to complain for the 3rd time.
also whos paying for me to come every 2 weeks? I can only afford once a month and this manicure usually doesnt start chipping until then (maybe the 3rd week which is fine, I’m reasonable) from other salons. If anyone reading this can afford that, snaps for you, but I can’t.
Update: I spoke to the owner, she refused to refund the manicure, argued with me about how much money I spent in total (It was $200 with tip, if you want a breakdown of gel pedi and gel x apres check out their service menu) and offerred a measly 10% off my next service.
I laughed, told her to have a nice day and hung up on her after several minutes of unproductive conversation. I cancelled my next appointment and will be going elsewhere. Insulting! Clearly they water down their gel polish with polish thinner so people come back sooner. Do not reccomend. Very unfortunate since their technique was good, but clearly the products they use aren’t up to par.

This place is amazing! So clean, so welcoming, so full of positive energy! Sophia (owner) is so warm and sweet!! I called in last minute to get apres gel X for a wedding and she was able to accommodate me super last minute!! She was so attentive and wants you to be satisfied every step of the way! I really recommend coming here!! They are fabulous at what they do!!

This used to be my regular salon but the quality of the service has really gone downhill in recent months. Gel nails chip after a few days and the staff is rude. Currently in search of a new salon if anyone has any suggestions!

I have been coming here for many many years. Old and new. The services never disappoint. They are careful and attentive and skilled. They are all also very very nice, which is all too often lacking at nail salons unfortunately. Never had a time where I felt like anyone was being spoken about. The place is just very welcoming. It is very clean and relaxing.

While the pedicure was fine (nothing exceptional), the management would not honor my gift card, saying it expired. I got the gift card less than a year ago, and the woman at the desk told me their gift cards only remain valid for 6 months! I’ve been a loyal customer since they opened, and I am horrified that I was treated this way and the gift card wasn’t honored. I always recommend them to my friends; never again!

I walked in without an appointment the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, so I understand that it was busy. However on Sunday afternoon, the nail polish began lifting (see picture). I don't live in the area so I can't come in to get it fixed, otherwise I would have given them another chance. I understand that I came in at a busy time without a prior appointment so I didn't complain at the time when my technician didn't first ask me to wash my hands after filing the nail beds, didn't properly cure the nails by making sure the gel lamp was on for the full 60 seconds, or when the sides were left messy and that there wasn't any polish leftover on surrounding skin or when she cut into my cuticle. But it's really disappointing that the polish has already begun lifting after only a couple of days. Otherwise, I thought it was fine. But just to let others know that if you do not have an appointment on a busy day, you may end up receiving a pretty sloppy manicure. I would have appreciated them just saying that I couldn't be fit in, so I could have gone somewhere else or made an appointment for later.

This nail salon was very clean & the staff very accommodating! I was very pleased with my manicure. The manicurist was very efficient, friendly & professional. The atmosphere was very relaxing also. Would highly recommend!

I have been a customer at New Splendid for about 1.5 years and decided to write a review! I am as precise, particular and demanding as a customer can be, and I am very satisfied and pleased with the work they do in this salon. When I find a salon/artists I like for beauty treatments, I am consistent with my patronage.The salon is super sanitized, tidy, well decorated for the appropriate season and has all the colors a girl needs to create her desired look.I love Apres gel nails and had always been looking for an expert technician in NJ who can perform this service. Until I found New Splendid, I always had to go to the Lower East Side to get my nails done - UGH! Applying Apres gel nails requires a specific technique in order for them to last and Sophia, the owner, gets mine perfectly applied and shaped every time! I can easily go 3-4 weeks between appointments. Suly works magic on my feet for my gel pedicure and I always leave New Splendid feeling well taken care of - no matter how minute my requests for my version of perfection.From a girl who has been obsessive about her nails for 25+ years, I highly recommend this establishment!

Avoid this place at all costs. They are extremely rude and disrespectful to their customers especially Carolina. My wife had a session with her and was telling her to pay more attention to the details and instead of being respectful she yelled at her treated her like she was a toddler. Highly unprofessional and disrespectful. Take your money where service is provided with care and attention.

This nail salon is the WORST salon in the area. The owner is RUDE and only cares about how much money she can take in. Their service is at best sub-par. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go here, you will be totally disappointed.

Left my daughter for a wax and the waxing girl was forcing her to wax her wrists and ankles etc. she is petite and a minor and probably half the size of a full grown woman. She was bullied and they racked up the charges for each and every item without any disclosure that waxing a patch in non existent wrist hair was an additional fee and not part of an arm wax. They are sneaky and should not be allowed to operate.. total bill was nearly $400.. Beware for sneaky and untrustworthy behavior and misleading quotes.Update post response: All lies!!! You quoted a different price and when billing you told her you charged more and didn’t discuss any prices for up charges. You took advantage of a minor who had a credit card. Shame on you!!!Service: Waxing
