We went there on a 50-degree February Sunday afternoon. Quite happy with our visit. There are a variety of animals, all in good health. Many of the animals are recused; for example, a huge boa was found in the balcony of a building in New York before it was rescued and brought to this zoo. The most attractive animals were the beautiful peacocks that were roaming free everywhere and the lions and tigers that we could see from a very close distance. The whole zoo took about an hour, which is just right for us. The entry fee is very reasonable as well.

Stay away from Popcorn Park. They will lie to you about your animals and kill them... We had a situation with our dog Teddy and called them for HELP... The lady who came over lied to us in saying that they wouldn't kill our dog and that they would HELP him.... 10 days later they KILLED our dog. Now my whole family is horrified, upset and angry. Never again will my family trust this group. If you value your pets lives then don't go to this group. They never really gave Teddy a chance and it's disgusting!

Nice and pleasant place to visit with the family, especially to take the little ones in the house and thus we help to continue caring for these magnificent animals.

This is a lovely place to visit in Forked River. Beautiful animal sanctuary where you can see rescued animals live out their lives in a caring and loving atmosphere. On their website you can read the story of each of the animals and some stories are also posted outside the animal's enclosure. There are also interesting facts posted. It is a great place for both adults and children to learn. I really enjoyed our visit. In total, the visit could take about 1.5 hours if you read each post and take your time. There are picnic tables outside if you wanted to bring lunch. It is such a great thing they do here. We'll be going back!

Although I love the work being done, I’ve gone to this zoo for 20+ years and that whole time you could feed the animals, the horse who has as far as I know been the same horse LOVED being feed he was so sweet and kind. All the animals knew that they were gonna be feed all day long. Wellll I went yesterday after not going since 2022, we go every year and take a picture in the same spot and when I tell you how upset we were about not being able to feed them and that’s not even the worst part. The animals were DEPRESSED! the horse who would let you pet him for 30 hours if you wanted to he wouldn’t even come near you, all the animals looked sad and like they knew that all these people are looking at them and not giving them food, the majority of those animals have been their for a really long time so they know it’s not the “normal” for them. Long story short again I think they are a good place to help animals out but I will truly never go again because it was extremely sad and depressing.

Knowing that rescued animals have a refuge and in turn, contribute to the enjoyment and education of both children and adults is wonderful. We didn’t see any turtle, probably because they’re relocated due to the cold temperatures in this fall season. Similarly, the monkeys were hiding inside their shelters, so we didn’t see any. Nevertheless, the most memorable moment was the majestic roar of the lion. Despite my daughter's efforts to capture a video, she unfortunately missed the opportunity. The peacock's stunning display of its feathers was truly enchanting.Parking is free. We paid our entrance fee on site because I couldn’t find a place to pay on their website/online. Food and drinks are not allowed. Cold drinks are sold inside. No cafe or food stall. So it’s better to eat and drink prior to going in. It takes less than 2 hours to walk around. There’s a small gift shop. The staff is pleasant and friendly. We enjoyed our visit here.

Popcorn Animal Refuge is a remarkable sanctuary that deserves high praise. Their dedication to providing a safe haven for animals in need is truly commendable. The facilities are well-maintained, creating a nurturing environment for the residents. The staff is passionate, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to the welfare of the animals. It's evident that each animal receives personalized care and attention. The educational programs offered here are insightful and help raise awareness about animal welfare. Overall, Popcorn Animal Refuge is a beacon of hope for creatures in distress, and their work should be celebrated and supported. Take the time to read the stories about each individual animal in the refuge.
