This is the first gym and location that helped me to stick with my fitness routine because it‘s people.
The “retro” atmosphere with red windows and party lights was awesome!!! This experience will be never forgotten.

Manage your expectations, this is the cheapest gym in the area. For under $40/month you get to access a gym that is consistent in the service it provides. You get what you pay for and as a sales professional I am getting every cent of my membership's worth at Retro Fitness Florham Park. The front desk is run by congenial, polite and generally lovely young adults. The manager is professional and responsive. I had an issue with a male customer and the situation was handled promptly and more than satisfactorily. I can honestly say that Retro Fitness Florham Park is a safe space for women (and men, and everyone)! As a newer member of the gym/indoor fitness community, every question I have had has been answered with a smile. I wake up and go to the gym generally when they open every day and have been more than happy with my experience every single day, including today. I can't wait to go back tomorrow!

I hesitated writing this review for a long time given that I am still an active member but as I sit in the parking lot with 10 other cars for maybe the 5th time this year because no one could be bothered to show up and open the gym on time I figured it's time (we are going on an hour past opening time, not just a few minutes). This gym is gross. I only continue to go because of the lack of other gyms in the area. They have about 15 treadmills and at any given time half of them are broken. The tanning room was rated unsatisfactory by the board of health. The mirrors by the weights are consistently covered in dust and hand smears. It's run by a bunch of kids who are loud and bro-Ing out at 6 a.m. (I can't even hear my music in my headphones over their yelling). They also hired someone to try to appear cleaner who walks around and cleans the treadmill area on the weekends (which is really fun to inhale strong smelling chemicals as you're working out) but apparently he can't even do that right - the pic below is of his cleaning materials which were just left on the floor for the entire hour I was on the treadmill (person in the pic is a patron cleaning his machine, not the employee). Seriously I don't even know how this gym is still open. They need new staff, new equipment, new management, new everything. I'd give it zero stars if it was an option.

I love Retro Fitness for various reasons. Firstly, the atmosphere is fantastic; it truly feels like a gym with the right energy and motivation. The vibrant environment pushes me to give my best during workouts. Secondly, the variety of equipment available caters to all my fitness needs, ensuring I can diversify my workouts and target different muscle groups. The staff at Retro Fitness is always welcoming and helpful, creating a positive and supportive environment. Their friendly attitude adds to the overall positive experience, making each visit enjoyable. Additionally, having the option to grab a protein shake after a session is a convenient and healthy choice, contributing to the overall appeal of Retro Fitness for me.

Unfortunately, I went in there for the second time this morning. This time I walked out. A girl up at the front desk, had her feet up, her face 2 inches from her phone, no uniform, with no personality and no customer service skills whatsoever. I asked her a simple question and then said thank you, I had to say thank you twice to get some type of response. There's was more of a smirk. This is a direct representation of ownership/management. The first time I went,! it was a great workout the showers were disgusting. I figured let me give it another try I'm up this way, I'll utilize my membership to work out , a minute of myself walking in, I turned around walked right out, and went to Fairfield retro Fitness. If this is a common practice of their employees, they have no customer service skills, they put their feet up on the desk, and their face are in the phones, I would say that's an issue and if nobody else noticed it, and management has not noticed this, that's even a bigger issue. You could say whatever you want about the success of your business, but these employees represent you. I've been in this industry for a very long time I ran health clubs, Fitness centers, and I've never seen such a lack of customer care, from when I walked in, and what I witnessed and saw today. Absolutely horrendous! Suggestion change your staff up and if you think I'm lying watch the cameras! You want to reach out to me, you're more than welcome to I'm an open book.

Sketchy business practice. Havent lived in the area in years and cancelled the membership years ago. Got a notification and flag on my credit that something was sent to collections from retro fitness. Couldnt get in touch with anyone at retro to answer my questions and would only give me the collections number where I was forced to pay $180 for apparent missed payments to get it out of collections. I never missed a payment and if I did, how come I was never reached out to or notified before racking up fees and sending it to collections and affecting someone's credit score. Terrible business practices.

As an employee, former member, and one time first place winner of the “September Push-Up challenge” (by a landslide) this gym is definitely good vibes. Definitely wish the colors were different and I might just sneak in here and change them myself. (I am pictured below)

This is by far one of the best retro locations in the state! When I switched from my hometown retro to this one in October due to a move I was a little nervous. But the staff here completely blew me away! The manager Will is always on top of everything and even has a water cup prepared for my pre workout when I come in after work! The team members are also some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable people I've met through working out! Mary, Eric, Casey, Tommy and Bailey are always ready to answer your questions, give you a spot, or whip you up a shake! Would give 6 stars if I could! If you workout in the florham park area and dont lift at this retro you're doing it wrong!

Quality going downhill. Many equipment are chronically down.They refused to honor personal training sessions worth $540 which we prepaid for after they severed their contract with personal training company - Element PT, leaving Retrofitness personal training customers to fend for themselves. Their owner Mihir did not help or let alone respond to emails. Their behavior speaks for itself about their integrity. Next steps is NJ Department of Consumer affairs and claims court.

Excellent gym. On God. Any hate reviews are probably people who didn’t want to sign up for memberships anyway. I’d give it 6 starts if I could (Googles rating system is 5 Golden Stars Maximum, What’s that about?)

Great customer service. The young men at the counter Will and Eric are very nice and approachable if you need help with the equipment. I love my trainer Valerie. She is patient and tough while showing me how to reach my goals physically. I like the help I get and the friendly interaction when I come into the building. Note: it has been a year, and the service is still excellent! I am happy to hear that Will has been promoted to manager. He’s great with the customers and continues to provide assistance when needed. It makes working out easier when you have nice people to help you without attitude. ??
